  • Join Windswept Robert on an epic aerial adventure as I take the DJI Mavic 3 soaring over the breathtaking lochs of Scotland in search of elusive castle ruins. Narrated in an authentic Scottish accent, this journey captures the mystique and beauty of Scotland's rugged landscapes, steeped in history and legend.
Our quest begins at the serene waters of a remote loch, nestled in the heart of Scotland. With the DJI Mavic 3's advanced capabilities, we glide over the shimmering water, through misty hills, and ancient woodlands. As we navigate this stunning terrain, we'll share tales from the land of Robert Burns, bringing to life the stories and legends that make Scotland so enchanting.
Along the way, we'll uncover hidden ruins of a forgotten castle, its stones whispering secrets of the past. The DJI Mavic 3’s 4K camera captures every detail, from the crumbling walls to the lush greenery that surrounds it. This isn’t just a drone flight; it’s a historical treasure hunt, offering a unique perspective on Scotland’s rich heritage.

This was the first time I’ve seen your channel, and I have to let you know, this was incredibly relaxing and very cool to see your country from above! You have an incredible voice and the cameras are beautiful. Excited to see more! Cheers😊

Very nice of you to say so, Robby, thanks:)
I’ll be creating more of these videos for a while. There’s also a 360 version of each of these videos - same flight, but YOU can spin the view to look around as the drone flies :)

Old ruins are very interesting, I do a lot of coastal and church videos, some people will find them boring, my channel is only created as a hobby, not professional. 👍

omg!! that telephoto is really something!!! 😁- i suspect a lot of that stonework was done by well-meaning Victorians to mark out what was the castle boundaries/foundations - they were enthusiastic but really wrecked so much archaeology 😕 nice vid and such a great place to fly!!! in this case, i prefer this one over the 360 tho the 360's are a lot of fun!!

The telephoto is remarkable. If you look at the difference when I'm over the fishing boats, you can see how good it is :)
Some people refer the 360 vids, some prefer the Mavic camera vids. I post both so everyone can watch their preferred video :)

Thanks for another calming video...the fisherman maybe thought he saw a Prehistoric bird that suddenly looped into a different time zone........🤔🤐😉....keep on flying Windy Bob...you love the hobby...i'm getting back into it slowly...just renewed my FPVUK membership and printed out the Article 16 and insurance documents which i will take with me every time as you do......keep well and i warmly hope you are feeling better with significant improvement on the way.

Thanks, Michael. I’m having good days and not so good days - I know you’ll completely understand what I mean, but I’m trying to stay positive and keep my mind occupied when my mood drops. Haven’t been able to get out flying for a few weeks now, but I still have some decent footage that I can edit until I’m able to get back out and send my birds up into the blue :)

@@WindsweptRobert another thing that helps me is binge watching box sets. I have done Severance, Dark Matter, Shining Girls (highly recommended this one) and currently on the apparantly true crime story called Black Bird. All on Apple +TV. I really get into the science fiction and true crime genres. Keep well.

I’ve done all of those except Shining Girls. I’ll check that one out next time:)
*edit to add: I checked Shining Girls to discover that I already watched it all too!

Great video Robert. Great scenery as usual. You certainly find some great secluded spots to fly. 🙂

Aye, I thought a re-visit to this area with the Mavic 3 might show more of the ruins than the one I made 3 years ago with Lassie :)
