A Kyokugen karateka whose hefty, hot-blooded nature has earned him a reputation for being a beast in battle. With his dojo sign stolen by forces unknown, he has no choice but to hone his karate skills elsewhere in the interim-namely, at Yuri’s fitness club. Upon learning of a new KOF tournament on the horizon, Marco steels himself for what lies ahead: an opportunity to spread word about his beloved dojo, a chance to get its sign back, and (of course) a turbulent test of his Kyokugen Karate might.

I'm Brazilian and I'm happy because SNK made this character based on karateka Francisco Filho, who was the first and only Western Brazilian to successfully perform the 100 fight test in Japan and the only one in the world to not need to be hospitalized after doing so. It broke the record for duration (3 hours and 2 minutes) and number of victories (76 wins and 24 draws) thanks to Japan and SNK for remembering this Brazilian and paying this tribute with the character Marco Rodrigues

Definitely the Kyoukugen Dojo lost their gym, so it looks like they are temporarily installed in the Yuri's club.
Makes sense as in the original timeline her stage was a gym and apparently it got a lot of eyes when others joined up.
Marco out here looking like one of the most in-your-face kickass shotos out there.

It was Takuma's climax move. Mr. Karate summons an energy projection of himself on his XIII climax. It would be cool if Marco could do that too.

However, SNK has officially been referring to him as Marco Rodrigues since 2021, when he was mentioned in the team story for Team Art of Fighting in The King of Fighters XV.

Se não fosse o erro de dublagem do nome no primeiro jogo ele já seria o maior personagem brasileiro dos jogos de luta dividindo o primeiro lugar com o Blanka e Edy Gordo.. pois muitos não associavam ele ao Brasil por usar roupa 100% branca.. e não ter o verde amarelo no uniforme.

There was an alleged screenshot of a Garou 2 where Marco was fighting a Mr. Karate. Could that have been Ryo? Or could the character in question be like the initial Yamazaki in KOF storyline where he crashed a Kyokugen dojo, IIRC?

After years of being relegated to cameos in KOF endings, Marco is back.
His Ryuuko Ranbu ending with Takuma XIII Climax looks so good.
With the Kyokugen dojo now at Yuri gym, I guess this means Ryo is still away huh.
My boy is BACK!! He looks as sick as ever. He was always my favorite Kyokugenryu character (tho Robert is definitely a close second) because his moves have so much impact and brutality compared to everyone else. I’m glad they didn’t disrespect him this time and gave him his REAL name back

I like to believe that Yuri and Bobby G are now married and this is their side-business that Yuri is managing.
I think she just run a "normal" gym and the dojo has to be relocate temporaly in Yuri's gym due the ending in MotW

My favorite Character of Mark of the Wolves. I'm so friking Happy, he loooks awesome and his moves are awesome.

Being an ex kyokushinkai and knowing Kyokugen is based off of it is very rewarding with Marco. Dude literally does a Jodan Uke as an attack out of nowhere

And please, on the 15th anniversary, you released the Fatal Fury Battle collection files 1 and 2 on PS2. They could launch it now (please 😍) on the 30th (+) year anniversary with rollback to current platforms 👀👀👀.

The fuck you talking about. SNK themes has always been better than any of the other competitors save for maybe some of Aksys themes.
I’m pleasantly surprised that SNK included the detail of Marco’s lighter palms (& I think soles). SF6 included it for Kimberly & Dee Jay (albeit later in development), but Bamco didn’t for its Black characters. Gotta give SNK the W.
In my opinion, if certain details on humans aren’t included for other things, then the lighter palms not being included shouldn’t be that big a deal in the end.
Neat when it’s there for sure, but that’s about it.

I will just add that his Karate Ogi looks a bit weird, it needs more smooth animation like the others characters, also as i said he could look better than he actually looks, i hope they pun hands on him a bit.
Man, Marco really took his training with Takuma or Ryo mad serious! He's like a combo of Ryo and Takuma with a tad bit of Robert now. His Hidden Gear at the end (Ultra) is like Serious Mr. Karate from SVC Chaos, but a MUGEN version I saw of him once. Just amazing!
The gym is Yuri's now, Marco sounds amazing in English, his theme is insane, his moveset looks amazing,
