- Hello guys! As we're approaching our "two years in Thailand" milestone, we have a brief discussion on how we think things are going, do we regret our decision to move here and what is the future looking like for us. It's a topic we often get questioned about and so we took the opportunity to talk about it whilst we took the kids to the park to play and have lunch 😁

Hello , i did exactly the same as you 18 months ago & now live in Bangkok. It's a difficult decision, but for me, I've never looked back .
Good luck 👍
Glad to hear it! Thank you 🙏
What a beautiful family, so glad you have the opportunity to live free and love your girls. AMAZING FAMILY, LOVE YOU
Ahh thank you so much 🙂🙏
Good morning, ☕️ ☕️😊 NativeFarang and family ❤❤❤❤
Happy 2 years anniversary, jaaaa 😊
Thank you Supatra 🥰🙏
❤👍🏼You definitely did the right thing. TakeCare 💞💞💞💞
Thank you for your support as always Wendy! 🥰🙏
Gday Natt - it’s clear to see you are all happy & living a better life , having a lot less stress enables you to pursue your dreams online and have a better balance of family time - can only see things getting better - All the best 👌✔️👍😎🙏
Spot on Ant! Thanks so much 🙂🙏
I’m leaving in Thailand for about 6 months and we love it here. No regret whatsoever. Only regret is not moving here earlier. 😊😊❤
That's great to hear, we wish you the best! 🙂🙏
😮 I just heard that Mellory just said Pad Kaprao Khai Dao, in thai language, wow awesome!!👏❤
I think it was Kaya who said pad kaprao khai dao, she is so adorable 🥰 ❤
Yeah it was Kaya, easy to get them mixed up though 😅 They're learning, expect more Thai from them in the next few months as they'll be starting school 🙂🙏
Great video Natt, keep up the great videos mate
Thanks Paul, appreciate it mate! 🙏
I'm 40 years old and living in Ubon Ratchathani and Belgium. I spent as little time as possible in Belgium. (Max 5 months per year) BUT money needs to be earned.
Without money you cannot do anything anywhere.
My home is Thailand and is also where we have our land and our beautiful House 🙏
That sounds great! Yes unfortunately everyone needs money, I'm lucky that I'm Thai and am able to work in Thailand freely 🙂🙏
Hi mate, l just started following you guys after Ricky and Rungtiwa's wedding. Beautiful family, and good onya for making the move. I wish l could've done it when my kids were young, but we didn't have the online opportunities back then😢
My thai wife and I are planning our retirement in Thailand hopefully soon from Australia.
She gets upset when l give dietary advice but l really care about people that are unaware of how our governments and big food have us all addicted to poison in the name of profits, then big pharma make big profits when we're all sick.
Processed sugars and carbs are a silent killer, it can take decades but eventually they will kill us all.
I lost over 40kg and reversed my autoimmune diseases by going keto then eventually carnivore.
Please don't be offended but please do look into it for the health of your beautiful family
Good points but you're going to struggle in Thailand my friend. Any food you buy will be high in salt, sugar and most things are cooked in seed oils. Add to that little regulation on pesticides and some questionable practices on meat. Hopefully you've got plenty of funds built up to buy good quality but you're going to pay over the odds for it, the same or more than you would in Australia and you'll miss out on the joys of eating local food. Good luck with your move.
Thank you, we wish you all the best with your retirement plans 🙂🙏
@@SmallManBigWorldGlobal point taken, but lve been with my thai wife for thirty years, she's a chef and we've had a restaurant for 18 years. I already know where to source my clean food in Thailand and l only eat twice a day so l don't mind paying a bit extra for my meals.
@@darrenbadger6814 good stuff. Good luck with your move.
@SmallManBigWorldGlobal cheers mate
Given your scenario and your situation, moving back home was the best option and plan 💓. You are a Thai citizen and have family there is a big plus. I too can't believe it's been 2 years and you guys have done so much to get to where you are now .
Thank you so much Bruce, we appreciate all of your support these past 2 years 🙂🙏
@ ❤️🙏
Awesome vlog natt... can see everyone happy... living the dream guys...go well blessings from New Zealand...
Ahh thank you 🙂🙏
I remember a couple years ago watching your videos when you were planning your trip to Thailand . You had that nice red car buzzing around.
Surin is a nice place to live. ( I’m living in Roiet)
We remember you from the beginning also, thank you 😄 Ahh don't, I still miss that car 😩 haha!
Broken Britain..
I agree great move for you and the family. Your daughters will gain a huge understanding of their culture and contact with Thai family. They will grow as bilingual children offering them a great future ahead. Your and Camilas quality of life has altered beyond what could be achieved in the UK. Your a young families with boundless opportunities ahead to match your enthusiasm and energy.
Ahhh thank you so much Mary, we completely agree 😄 We're glad you see things the same way we do, thank you for the kind words and support 🙂🙏
Omg two years.. time flies .. ❤👍
It really does! 😅🙏
Nat came into himself, weathering being a strange boy in another country, it helped get out too.
Definitely 🙏
You can never get back time lost with your kids. Money is not so important so long as you have enough to sustain yourself and your family. I believe y'all made the right decision.
Completely agree! 🙂🙏
Hi there
Good video and good to see you’re both enjoying life here , you’re right we cannot buy time and it’s great you can spend quality time with the kids ,
You’re both young have you thought about retirement in the future , early or going full term , I know many young people have no thoughts of retirement and pensions,
Good luck moving forward
Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Thank you Davy! With regards to a pension, I doubt it'll even be a thing by the time we get there, I think the best option is to just keep adding to our savings pot throughout our life and acquire land. But things can always change of course 🙏
Hi @nativefarang
Nat thanks for the reply and you may well be correct about pensions , but if it won’t be a thing I’m guessing the Uk gov will stop taking contributions from people for their pension , so I’m not sure it won’t be a thing , earning as much as possible and saving well is also key , that was my route , worked hard saved hard and invested in a private pension and had a good company pension also, and will get my Uk state pension in another 4.5years provided I live til then , here’s hoping eh , thanks and regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
You and your family made the right choice. We moved from America to Portugal. It was the best decision for us.
That's amazing, we're glad to hear that! 🙂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🥰🥰🙏🙏
You guys have definitely made the right choice, even for the girls and you’re making your money stretch, besides you have to, even though people may perceive you as super rich, in a few respects you all are and it shows on your attitudes.😊🙏🏼
ally, lifestyle wise, and blessed in your whole being, that’s why as a family there’s plenty of enrichment🙂👏🙏🏼
Oh Kaya you’re so funny, Mallory is so chilled😊 and helpful
Thank you for the kind words and support, Victoria! We completely agree 🙂
Try and tell yourself that you cannot go back to the UK. Don't see it as a backdoor and you will make a huge success of your lives here. You are working hard and the children are goin to school one of these day
Money is not everything though we all need it to live
Keep up the positive attitude
Natt, live your best life. Two years as gone, so quick time does fly. Best thing you have ever done out of the rat race of uk.
I love the uk myself, but there are so many things wrong with it.
Mallory & Kaya are settled, and their development is coming along excellent.
You are always going to get the pros and cons of living elsewhere, but the pros outweigh the cons for you. It's not all about money, the quality of life comes first. Good vid indeed. 😍🌟😍
Completely agree Alan! Thank you for your support 🙂🙏
That time has gone so quick,it only seems a few months ago when you had the goats
Time really has flown by!
I do think you made the right choice. The job market is weak in the UK right now and salaries have dropped for new roles. Also, you can always do TEFL in Thailand if needed and if you do need to come back to the UK, you have skills in marketing, social media and in BD for your shop.
Thank you! Absolutely, there's plenty of options for us and me being a Thai citizen but fluent in English gives me a big advantage 🙂🙏
As I watch your video, I happen to be eating Pad Krapow with a fried egg. 😊
Great choice! 😄
HI GUYS 😁👏👏👍👌A BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR TO U 👏👏👍😁❤️ITS THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE NAT , THAT PEOPLE TEND TO OVERLOOK😤
Happy new year to you too Kim! That's exactly it, spot on! 🙏
My plan in a few years is to sell everything I have and retire to Thailand with 2 suitcases. Everything that is dear is small and easy to carry. Photos, mementos, my dad's watch. All the big stuff I can do without. Not married. No kids. By the time I retire mom will be gone as helping her is one of my major commitments.
That's exactly what we did! We wish you all the best with it. Very admirable of you for helping your mum, respect 🙂🙏
I arrived here with one suitcase of clothes at the age of 70 years and have not regretted one day.
I have had eleven wonderful years here in rural Thailand far from the cities
Geat choice, looking forward to follow someday. My wife is from Buriram. Always wondering what happend to your farm and if you will ever return. Was there a video explaining why you left?
They realized that farming was not their cup of tea and moved on.
Thank you, great to hear! We like Buriram, it's not far from us 🙂 We have done several videos but short story is we left it with my uncle and probably won't return. Our future plan is to buy land somewhere and start again but farming as more of a hobby because unless you put a lot of time and money into it, it's hard to make money from it, if that makes sense. We had many reasons for moving on 🙂🙏
That sounds like a well-thought-out decision, Nate! Big respect for taking the step to leave the UK-truly inspiring! 🙌
My wife, daughter, and I are also planning to build a permaculture farm in the near future. It won’t be for making a living but rather as a way of life and an ideal balance to my work as a software developer. We see it as a long-term project that aligns with our values and offers a meaningful, self-sufficient lifestyle.
We'll be following in the next three years, after my wife obtains German citizenship. Our three-year-old daughter already has dual citizenship and is growing up bilingual, so we're preparing step by step for this transition. We already have two pieces of land-one 4 rai and the other 9 rai-so we’re excited to bring our vision to life in the near future.
Wishing you all the best with your future plans-excited to see where your journey takes you! 🙏🌱🚜
Hi Nate, Jason from UK here, great video. My Thai wife and I are still living in the UK but hopefully very soon our Bungalow in Sangkha Surin will be complete.
Must try and all meet up.
@@jasonjeffery4482 That sounds great! All the best 😄🙏
สวนใหม่ my favorite running spot in Surin 😊
😄🙏
As long as you still pay your national insurance for the total of 35 years you’ll still get your full state pension but it will be frozen
Why? Leaving means leaving.
All I can say to you both is "I'm really really jealous of you both" I can't wait for 4 years and I will be out of the UK and won't have to put up with the stress , hassle, corrupt politicians and the bloody cold weather, my dad was a WW2, Korea, Hong Kong, Libya,Saudi Arabia and Palestine veteran he did 29 years and came out as a Sgt Major he was offered a commission in the Australian army he sat me and my 3 brothers down and said do you want to live in Australia or the UK I wanted Australia one said he was unsure and my two eldest brothers said UK so I was out voted, one of my brothers said to me 8 years ago he regretted not going to Australia it would have been a great opportunity with work 🤯😡 FYI my dad died a broken man skint at the age of 66 years old still had a mortgage due to a certain brother but that's another story🤨, if he had taken the commission in the Australian army he would have been able to retire on a great pension at the age of 55 instead of 65 he only managed to have 16 months of his retirement.
I did just under 3 years in the army I was medically discharged from the British army when I came back from an armed conflict in the south Atlantic,
Anyway that's a bit of my life i definitely need to leave the UK especially what's going on here at the moment it's not helping with my PTSD so I can understand why you moved back to Thailand with your wife and kids, you have the freedom to be with your family if you were still living in the UK you won't see the kids growing up with you having to clock in and wait for to clock off 5 days a week, which you would only really seeing them on the weekend that's if you did overtime on a Saturday morning, so I'm on count down 51 months 3 weeks 2 days to go 😂😂😂😂
We're so glad you're planning on making the move and we wish you all the best with it! Thank you for sharing your story, we're sorry you had to go through such difficulties. But we can promise you will forget all those troubles when you move to Thailand, you won't regret it 🙂🙏
💯my only regret is not doing it earlier ✌️
💯💯💯
I wished to have more times for my children when they were young as everyone needed to work! Lucky you guys to take this opportunity….
Ahh thank you Nok, we're definitely grateful for this opportunity 🙏
Wish to see you have some green vegetables more nutrients tropical fruits the kid will have habit not sweet drinks all the time
That's the content you want to see? We eat fruit and vegetables all the time and drink mostly water at home. The kids are allowed a sweet treat while at the park 😅
Everyone needs special treats, including these gorgeous girls 😊❤
Biggest issue about Thailand is the bad air quality..I saw today Surin was also in the red ... unhealthy zone .😢😢
To be honest it hasn't been that bad here at all, the mornings are a little hazy but throughout the day it's barely noticeable, it hasn't affected us at all... So far. Besides the south, we're in one of the better locations for air quality 🙏
Where did you buy your bike/ transportation from please
@@noelholman2483 We bought the bike from Facebook marketplace and we bought the saleng from a local mechanic who also made and fitted the roof 🙂
@ can I ask how much would a set up like that cost please 🙏
@@noelholman2483 We spent a total of 16,000 baht 🙏

Hugs! Been watching your whole journey. Loved it all. Old lady in USA trying to convince husband to make the jump to Thailand for retirement. We can't afford to retire here. He's almost onboard as his stressful job is not healthy.
Ahh thank you so much! Sorry to hear that he's in a stressful job, we hope that you can fulfill your dream to retire in Thailand! 🙂🙏
🙏🙏
Did you apply Thai citizenship for your wife and kids.
We don't meet the criteria, need to be registered on a tabien baan in Bangkok etc...
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.” ~ Luke 17:6 Lord Jesus, we all need little bottles of mustard seeds to share with people to encourage them to keep on trusting You by faith! If you put water to the seed it’ll grow. you need good soil water and the seed will grow
