After my trade in I payed $1100 and got their buds+ with a wireless charger for free... yeah the autofocus ain't all that great but its not a big issue for me. The S20 Ultra is an excellent phone.
I own the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the GS20 Ultra as my business phone. The Ultra is great phone when it comes to the core features...screen, battery life, speed, and camera (without the gimmicks). I took advantage of the $600 Best Buy deal to help ease the pain of the high price tag. So far I'm pleased with this phone because the great big screen and all day battery life are a great combination
@@batsywatsy Yes and Korean RUclips reviews after the update confirm it is not fixed yet. Many pros say that it is a hardware issue as it is not dual-pixel like the s20+ (no issues). If you are into videos I would not buy the s20 Ultra until you know if it is fixable. $1400 for no AF in video, is a poor choice.l
@@andyH_England one could forgive measly SQ on Ultra (if that happened), but having autofocus issues on a phone that's PRIMARILY made for photo/video is a dealbreaker IMO.
I bought the GS20 Ultra on day 1 and I wasn't impressed with this phone initially. The auto focus issue and overhyped zoom features were a letdown on a $1,400 phone. By day 3 I fell in love because I went to go watch a Lakers game and then attended a birthday party. The battery lasted all day long, all my pics in the day and night came out great, and the screen impressed everyone when I showed a couple videos from RUclips. I then realized that once you focus on the great screen, great battery life, it's fast speed, and the regular front and rear cameras without the gimmicks...it's a great phone. Is it worth $1,400? That depends on your income and current financial stability
Yeah, but there will be many phones coming in the next few months that match or better the s20 Ultra. Perspective is needed as the Ultra is the first release in the year and rarely is it the best, though probably will be the most expensive by far. The OPPO Find X2 Pro looks as good and the P40 Pro Ultra along with the Xperia 1 #2 and the OP8 Pro, etc. My choice may be the ROG Phone 3, that will have a better battery and are using the latest Samsung display.
@@andyH_England the difference with those phones and the Samsung (excluding the Sony) is that they use 2D biometrics (vs 3d - like google, apple, samsung and sony) and are not as secure (can't make payments or use banking apps).........
@@1ce2berg biometrics is not secure at all, if you are so into security there is nothing better than a password. They can just knock you unconcious and unlock the phone whether it is 2d or 3d.
@@maratutebayev340 lmao I don't live in such a place where that is a concern. It's more for the convenience of using the biometrics for banking apps vs putting in Ur passwords and using it for google pay or whatever. The added bonus is that it is MORE secure than 2D that the cheaper Chinese companies use (oppo, xiomi, OnePlus, etc). Also the companies are less reliable and less responsible cause less liability cause smaller companies. That comes with worse customer service too (check the forums). You can't just say biometrics are not secure at all, they are still more secure than nothing. Look at how many people are getting knockout out and mugged for their cellphones vs hacked for info (like banking info and personal ID)......
@@andyH_England better is a subjective term. Phones aren't athletes in a race where there is a clear winner in a competition. I prefer Samsung phones and the iPhone so the other brands can't do anything to top them in my book. LG, Google, or Motorola phones always have quality issues and Chinese brands are a hard pass
Mind you im upgrading from a s8+...The battery life on my s20U is insane!! I get at least twice the amount of power while doing the exact same things day and night. Every game that I have tried runs at top speed no problems. The camera is so close to being perfect and the images come out sharp and crisp. Plus a super smooth experience. I'm definitely happy about my purchase.
@@juliorodriguez5745 its definitely worth the upgrade. 2 months later and I still love this phone. Its the best phone on the market right now. You won't be disappointed!

I got mine last Friday and I love it. I had an S9 plus and the refresh rate is crazy. Love the camera and the screen. Would I pull the trigger again 🤔 certainty 😎
yea i upgraded from a s9+ as well and I love it too. The screen is awesome! I just wish it can record 1080 60 fps on the wide angle camera and telephone lens. I don't have 5g here, just lte, I just love the big ass screen, big ass camera bump, I love big ass phones!

One UI is the best android OS right now. Since 2012 google has been borrowing from samsung, pop up view, split screen, scheduling, lockscreen shortcuts, etc., This felt like a mature review on this phone. other reviews were just bashing it unnecessarily.
Oneplus 8 pro is a good choice but in some countries like China and Russia it's more expensive. I also feel like Samsung is just the better polished android phone that can do everything, except for the headphone Jack. Oneplus isn't known for the best camera either with the iPhone 11 and s10 beating the oneplus 7 pro because of it's over saturation
If you have a Costco membership, they usually have the best deals after 2 months. A few months after the S10 lineup came out, you could get a S10 for $419 and S10+ for $519. Less than 2 months after the Note 10 lineup came out, the Note 10 was $469 and the Note 10+ was $619. You don't have to pay any additional fees at Costco and there are even better deals available if you change carriers or add an additional line. While this particular S20 deal from Costco is over now, if you pre-ordered the S20 Ultra, buy 2 S20 Ultras, and are fine with getting a gift card back, you could have technically gotten a S20 Ultra at $600 each ($500 if you include the $100 preorder Samsung Credit if you pre-ordered before March 5th).
I could be wrong but from my time selling phones the only time you have that high of a down payment is when they think you’re committing fraud. Is it the same store you normally go to? And I last time i used jump on demand there was no down payment
this is the first review I've heard that was like "meh" it's ok, but not $1400 ok.. I really appreciate that as someone who works REALLY hard to make $1400.. I think I'll stick to my Galaxy 10+ for now.. Thanks so much for the honesty in review..
Got my Ultra through sprint for $16-17 a month for preordering it, along with all of the goodies that came with it. I’m loving it so far. No complaints outside of the obvious but it should get better with time.
Some of the reviews out there almost convinced me to return my Ultra. After really using the camera and the 10 optical zoom I'm definitely keeping it. The finger print scanner is my biggest complaint but there are plenty of other options to open the phone. The price is high but I use my phone all day for everything.
I've had it since last Friday and I'm loving it! I haven't tested the camera too much, because we're not supposed to go outside that much, but the few times I did, I was very impressed with the camera and especially the 108mp and the zoom. Sure, you won't use the 100 X zoom much, but it's still pretty cool.
I don't have any complains taking the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Camera is at par, watching movies/videos is a treat..sound quality is excellent and battery is a beast. All these things matter to me and this phone delivers.
Honestly if I got any phone from the S20 lineup it would be the Ultra purely because I'm not a fan of settling if there's better version than what I own. I'll be sticking to my 7 Pro till the 8 Pro releases.
Thanks Jaime for pointing out the OneUI features and software updates that Samsung has been pushing already since Oreo but stock Android has done it until 10. People crticise Samy for not pushing updates just like Stock but common guys the features that the new software in stock brings in has always been present in the previous version of Samsung. I would always prefer stable and new feature packed update over quick & senseless updates in name of major Software update every now & then. UX n comfort is important.
Would love to see your take on S20Ultra camera AFTER AF & dynamic range issue update vs either S20 or Plus version. & Yes battery life on the S20 lineup, plz post it on twitter maybe as per the testing! Stay Safe Guyz #corona ✌🏼
After my enhanced pre-order trade-in value from my Note 10 Plus I only paid $899.00 for my 512gb S20 Ultra. Then Samsung threw in $250.00 store credit witch got me the new Bud's + and 2 cases. I would say that's a hell of a deal and I absolutely love this phone. And I received it early, on Monday the 2nd.
Great review as always, I totally agree, mine went back as I feel for the money it should be Ultra out the box and this isn't it, who knows when the update will come out to fix the camera issues and I only had 30 days and I don't think the update will sort out all the camera issues. I loved the display and the 120hz that was amazing. 👍

I think of it like a Bugatti... Can anyone USE all 16 cylinders, 4 turbos and 1500 horsepower? No. Does it's 250mph top speed make any DIFFERENCE in everyday use? No. Does anyone NEED a $2,000,000 two seat car? No. But does anyone WANT a car like that? Hell YEAH! And they sell every last one to those who can afford it.
After waffling d/t price, I ordered the ultra. Been using OP phones but had it with buggy software. Initially, found Oxygen sleek but issues surface and color off. Going back to Samsung if the lack of updates don't kill me.
I see a lot of ppl complaining about the price but no one complains about apple’s prices? You can’t expand the storage. I see a lot of reviewers comparing the iPhone 11 Pro Max at the base model of 64 gb trying to make it seem Samsung is so much more expensive when it’s not. Samsung offers better trade in offers and promos through their website. Apple offers none of that, they don’t even give you the best value for your phone. Apple’s 11 pro max 512gb is $1449, no expandable storage with 4gb ram and it’s not 5G. Can you imagine what the price will be this year for the 5G capable iPhones?? This is supposed to be the year iPhone changes their design. The notch display is still up in the air. Ppl complain about updates but sometimes apple’s updates cause more harm than good. So to me I feel you can’t go wrong if you decide to go with Samsung at least their phones don’t slow down when a new one comes out. Apple makes amazing phones especially with their software but it has its down sides too.
I got the Samsung s20 ultra and I had the iPhone 11 Pro Max I feel like I wasn’t getting a lot for the money I was paying for iPhone but when I got the Samsung I feel like it’s a great phone but the camera isn’t that great helpful Samsung can fix it
Hi Jaime, an excellant review of the Samsung S20 but am curious as to how you would compare this to the Samsung Note 10+ excluding the upgraded 108 mega pixel camera and the extra shooters in the back? Cheers from Australia.
Thanks John. Expect that video very soon 😉. It’s too complicated for a comment. I adore my Note. It’s been a hard switch. That’s the shortest way I can put it
Watched this on my Ultra. I honestly love the phone. Everything about it is great. I also have a Note 10+ 5G but I find the ultra more comfortable for daily use. Sure the big zoom is a novelty but it is pretty cool to be able to zoom to say a sign and be able to read it when you can't really see it. Its fun to play around with. Im not a photographer so I'm not taking amazing photos but I am fully enjoying the quality and zoom function of the phone.
Guys I got it three days ago and I' m not so much impressed! I have the Note 10 plus too and it feels much better the overall experience. Lighter, smaller bezels on the side (yes it seems I like a pronounced edge), WIDER! I don't see the reason for taller and taller aspect ratios when the 19 to 9 for 6.8 Note was more than fine in handling. As for the camera I like the zoom a lot but the rest of the picture quality is not night and day better compared to Note. So two things 1. 120 Hz is one thing that I really enjoy and 2. the fact that I' ve gotten refreshed with a brand new device which has it all. But not overimpressed for 1400 I paid for this.
Thank you for mentioning the whole software update thing Pixel fanboys always bring up. The latest version of Android is usually catching up to Samsung's UI when it comes to features and yes even though Samsung phones are only supported for two years, they get security updates way longer than that.
Currently running a Pro Max, thought about upgrading to this but I think it’s too expensive for what you’re getting. The 120hz screen is beautiful and battery life is good as well but it just doesn’t quite feel “Ultra”. Maybe I’ll go for one when the price drops or a OnePlus 8 Pro as it seems that will bring many of the features on a less expensive and slightly smaller device.
I doubt OP 8 Pro will be cheap. Last years model was just about 150£ cheaper in my country than s10+. It's still some bit of the money, but still closer to 1000, than to 500. After you reach certain psychological barrier, bit extra doesn't matter. Like, 500 or 550, 750 or 850. Difference of 10-13% only. If we speaking bout Apple, 11 pro max costs just about the same as new s20u. It' a bit cheaper...the most basic model with low storage.
I don’t think stock android is overrated, I own a galaxy note 10 plus, 11 pro max, pixel 4 xl and the iPhone and pixel are still better. Cameras are better software is better no crap like box by because oh we have google assistant which is better! The iPhone is still the smoothest and animations on the pixel and iPhone are not as jerky as the Samsung. I don’t care if the s20 and 120 hrz display because the iPhone doesn’t and they don’t need that to make their phones not jerky and just smooth. Samsung cameras still lag behind google and apple.
Exactly I've owned every pixel since the nexus 6 days and every galaxy note flagship. Stock android is good but overrated this is not the days where stock is smooth and the skinned versions of Android is laggy or slow. Skinned Android such as one ui often has very cool or useful features way before stock... For instance people were hype about multi window and even now a native screen recorder for stock, Samsung had both of those features much sooner and they work as intended
How perfect do people in general really need photo to be honestly. Any phone you buy today is going to have a great camera especially the flagships if people are looking for perfect Photography you're not going to get it from a phone get a $2,000 DSLR after all this is only a phone lol. The pictures no matter how clear they are once uploaded to social media websites I only going to get compressed anyway so there's no point in having the most Picture Perfect photo

Sticking with my Note10+, at least until Note20+. It offers me everything I want for now. As long as all the crazy camera spec numbers CANNOT serve all rear lenses in PRO MODE, these are just gimmicks for me.
I was told by an owner, forget about using the camera in auto mode. It is unmatched in low light in Pro Mode and celestial photos are amazing. Also forget about the 100X zoom, like Jaime says. It's that 108mo that makes photos pop. I am seeing sales for them on Amazon for just under $900 only five months after release. Now it's worth buying.
It seems a little too out of my price range and I was reading how users with an S10 or S10+ are more than satisfied and feel there's no need for an upgrade. What do you guys think? I see an S10+ on Amazon for less than $500.00. Should I jump on it?
@@darrin173 It sure seems like a beautiful phone. I think I'm officially convinced. I was trying to ultimately compare it to the Note 10, Note 10+, S10 Lite, Note 10 Lite, and the S10 5G. I use samsung since the very beginning. I switch from s9+ to s20 ultra 2 weeks ago and so far I am not disappointed. I don't think I can not downgrade with other phones anymore
Non of the reviewers care that much about software updates, because non of them uses a device more than 6-12 months tops. It sucks to use a 2017 software on 2020. The hardware is already dated, so the software updates get extremely important to me. That's why I probably won't buy any Samsung device ever.
I love my s20+ but has anyone else experienced discoloration with the back light when 120hz and dark mode are on? The bottom half of my phone is a warmer yellow tone and the upper half is cool and blue... Is this normal?
2 weeks and no mention of: - DeX - OneUI 2.1 updates - Video out over USB-C at 4K 60Hz - Samsung's great multitasking experience - GoodLock - Pro Video mode's return Among other things. Stop treating these powerhouse devices like they're nothing more than point and shoot cameras, please.
No one cares about DeX. Not even Samsung features it any more. The 2.1 updates are still not in, I’ve met no human that would buy a separate cable just to watch videos on their TV at an age where SmartThings exists, I did discuss multi tasking and why I prefer One UI over stock Android, and why on earth would I cover Pro video controls that aren’t really Pro if I can’t use them to control the most elemental need of any videographer, which is shutter speed? Maybe I just don’t like to waste people’s time on half backed features 😉
@@Pocketnow maybe if reviewers actually covered such features, more people would understand the full capability of the device in their pocket. Kind of silly to say, "no one cares" when there's no media coverage. PS There are 4,300+ members on r/SamsungDeX. At the end of the day, you do you.
4300 on how much of an install base? I’ll give you an analogy. This is like you saying that it’s our fault people don’t adopt motion gesture more because we don’t cover them. Dude it’s not our fault they’re gimmicks. They just aren’t useful. Even on the Galaxy Tab DeX has tons of limitations. They need to come up with a better product.
@@Pocketnow "Come up with a better product" - Maybe if you covered it and pointed out the shortcomings, drawing attention to it, they would. LIkewise with your install base comment. Most people likely have no idea that their phone even has DeX baked in, or that it can output video over the USB port. How would they know when they look to reviewers to tell them about their devices and said reviewers don't talk about such features? Your reply reads like a snake eating its own tail - "people don't know and I refuse to tell them about it therefore they don't care." Like I said, you do you. If you want to deliver another shallow camera-centric review of a phone rather than detailing the full capabilities of it, however gimmicky they may be, go for it.
Yup good end to the video jaime. My brother finally listened to me and just returned his ultra for the S20+. I'll be sharing your video sir. Thank you!
Yup. The days of stock Android offering the "best" experience with the "essential" features has been over for at least a few years now. One UI, EMUI 10, Oxygen OS are all better alternatives, IMO, than stock Android. Yeah, you wait a few more months for updates, but you get way more features. That said, there are things missing sometimes. For example, I have the P30 Pro with EMUI 10/Android 10 and it's butter smooth and has way more features, but it is missing one feature I really want - the ability to change accent colours. But that's literally the only thing I feel I'm missing and all the other extra features built into EMUI make up for it by a mile. The only other issue is that unless you have a Pixel, you are pretty much guaranteed only two years worth of major updates (security updates for longer normally). So, that's important if you want to keep your phone for more than two years.
I purchased a Supcase case for my s20 ultra based on your recommendation. Its Awesome and the info said that a screen protector couldn't be used but the installed and my second protector work fine with the case. Thank You
Samsung needs to change the approach of their flagship devices. I am a huge Samsung fan, and I have been since the Galaxy SII. Samsung used to create devices that were more advanced, priced more efficiently, and more feature packed than other smartphone markets (Google, Apple, etc.) It seems as of lately, they've rushed the production and release of their devices, pushing devices that will later receive an 'update', rather than perfecting the devices before they are released to the general public. For example, from 2012-2015, Samsung released their S line phones anywhere from April to June, and they were AMAZING. The S3 was feature packed and versatile, and the S4 drastically advanced on that theory. The S5 was more useful due to the better screen, battery life, and IP rating. The S6 was a huge reformation of the S-line, providing a gorgeous design, a multitude of usable features, and the best camera of 2015. Ever since the S7 in 2016, it seems as though Samsung is becoming complacent in their innovation. They produce phones with generally the same physical blueprint every year, similar cameras that no longer best Apple, Google, or Huawei, mid-ranged battery life, and devices that lost their edge in speed to Apple. Drab design and a small bevy of color options, removing stuff and charging extra to bring those features back. They're heading in the same direction as Apple, as well as the rest of Android devices, and frankly, I'm highly disappointed.
Great review Jaime, your attention to detail is impeccable, as always! I’m going to stick with my iPhone 11 Pro-Max, the battery life is second to none. Although, I did love my Note 10+ the battery life wasn’t great, I hate not being able to send or receive high quality videos through texting, and android’s have very bad resell value!
The 11 Pro Max is the best phone I have used till date. It still feels like a million dollars in my hands. I will probably hold on to it until Apple releases an iPhone without a notch.
I have been using this phone for 2 weeks and here's my review: Battery has been great. For an average phone user that spends a lot of time watching RUclips and Netflix, and lots of social media, the battery lasts me nearly a day. I get 8 hours of on screen time on the phone and I do not take my charger home after work on the weekdays. This is with 120 Refresh Rate on and the brightness above 50% for most of the part. When watching RUclips, obviously it's very close to 100%, if not at 100%. The fingerprint scanner is not that great. My Google Pixel 2 XL had the BEST fingerprint scanner I've ever used on a smart phone. A slight touch on it and my phone would look. With this phone, you have to REALLY hold down on it, and sometimes it does not work. The screen is gorgeous. It's Samsung so you expect the quality to be great and it is. The punch hole on top people cry about, I barely ever notice it's there until I look for it. The build feels very solid. You could knock someone out with it as it does weigh a lot, due to the glass on front and back and a beautiful, monster battery. It feels premium. I was expecting the camera to be the best. That's why I bought it. Samsung claims it'll make a you wanna take more photos/videos but THAT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL. My LG V20 took better photos. I use Pixel 2 XL to take photos instead of this $1400 phone with new sensors/software. The video isn't that great because the focus is still a big issue, for videos and pictures. The pictures this phone takes, I could get that from a $400 phone. If you want to buy the phone with a camera, stick with Pixel lineup or the new iPhones. It makes me mad now that I'm writing about how bad the camera is. South Koreans have the latest update on the auto-focus but the quality is not that great either. My brother's S10+ takes much better photos than this Galaxy Ultra S20 I have! Definitely buy a protective case and screen protector. It's worth spending extra $50 for protection. It was water proof. It has been "toilet drop" tested, not on purpose of course. I wiped it with alcohol layers after layers with tissue and so far there has been no issues with speakers and touchscreen sensitivity. Is this worth $1400? Absolutely not. I DO love the big screen that looks incredible, and I DO love the powerful speakers, and the battery life is just simply amazing. You are able to customize it exactly to your liking, on the home screen, lock screen, and Always On Display. I have the Always On Display and the battery still doesn't go to 0% after 24 hours, idle or not. The $1400 price tag is there for the so-called the best camera on the back, which is beaten hands down by Pixel 2 XL that has an older processor/sensor. I could've had a similar experience with S20+ and not pay that much. I gave up on the camera/video and try to forget the phones can be used for camera. This phone will not make you enjoy photography. Again, I pull my Pixel 2 XL phone out to take pictures, so this phone is worth it if you want to enjoy a new phone experience.
Great right-on the mark review... About the 8K! your right about the Auto-Focus but I filmed a sunset and watched it on an 8K TV and it will knock your socks off...
I'm rocking with my S10+ tempted by the S20 but thanks to reviews such as this one. Decided to hold off, I'm glad I did. Maybe the S30 will prompt me to upgrade
Iam watching this on a regular S20. And after 5 days I can say it is an amazing phone. Amazing display and performance, great camera. All in all I love it and I dont see negatives on the phone.

@@TechLidBull yes i was also mad at myself. But i can't wait when after 3 years the time has come to upgrade i don't have the nerves to wait a few months and watch the phone been reviewed and i don't have it
The camera is SERIOUSLY flawed. I'm not talking about auto focus. Take a picture of something printed. Focus as best as you can. Text in the center will be sharp. Text at the top of the frame will have a shadow and text at the bottom will have a shadow mirroring the top. Does not matter if pro mode, 108MP, etc. Something is going on here and it's annoying AF!
@@Pocketnow Try focusing in close(r) like as close as it can. I frequently snap pics of high DPI screens with text. White text on a black background reveals it nicely. Even the Note10+ shows some but the S20 Ultra is bad. Its absent on my 11 Pro Max. This definitely isn't the snapper for macros or anything remotely approaching macro which is too bad! I don't believe the phone is defective. And getting it replaced now with everything going on? The laughing would be reminiscent of the laughing deer from Evil Dead 2!
You speak truth but I get a new phone once a year so I guess that will be someone else's problem lol. I think that phones should receive updates up until there technology is too far outdated for the actual update.
I think Samsung should improve the software support for this phone at least. And they definitely need to improve the camera issues and some other stuff with an update as soon as possible.
I'm totally underwhelmed with my S20 ultra. It's really not worth the money. There's very little to distinguish it from my note 10 plus which I'm really regretting trading in. The camera is disappointing. The 120hz it on HD is disappointing. The fact that we in the UK get the exynos chip which has been proven to be significantly inferior to the snapdragon variant. Yet we pay the same amount of not more! Iv never before been tempted to return a Samsung phone. But I'm very much considering returning my ultra and waiting for the OnePlus 8 pro. Very disappointed with Samsung thia year. The S20 range is good but not for the money Samsung is charging. They really need to up their game.
I have owned the S20 Ultra for a week. Overall, the phone is a very good smartphone. It is loaded with unique features and it is fast. However, I don't think it is worth the price. I upgraded from an S9+ and the only noticeable difference is that the Samsung Ultra is slightly faster when downloading videos and it is bigger. The camera was the main selling point for this phone. I have determined it is was a disappointment. There is an update available to fix the auto focus issue. However, more updates are needed to improve the camera features. If the camera is not that important to you, I recommend choosing the cheaper Samsung S20 plus model or just wait for the next "great smartphone." The Samsung Ultra is huge, but I like the large screen when looking at Netflix and Amazon prime movies.
I've considered buying this phone, thanks for the review. I don't know how widespread it is, I have heard some are having issues with the camera screen cracking for no apparent reason. That's on the ultra itself. I think I'm going to take a wait-and-see approach. Your opinion on this matter?
Ok come. Everyone. You have to agree with me here. "5G so you can use all of your allocated data even faster". Because what they dont tell you is that once you use all you allocated data you get throttled down. In some cases down to 2G
Great review. I'm loving the phone and have been off charge for 2 full days with somewhat light use. However, Samsung really needs to push that camera update. I have 3 days left in return window and this goes back if no update. I want to trust them, but they shouldn't have released the phone like this.
Love your videos, try this...shoot 100X with flash on, it's a hack where it stops the post-processing and you will end up with a sharper image, let us know.
Apart from camera issues this is an ultra phone battery life is all day long screen is fantastic movies all day very responsive 120 refresh rate when it does focus quality is dlsr Hate or love it ? Its Ultra! Depending on your income if you can afford s20+ for 200 extra you get all this
I've read comments of youtubers crapping on this phone's camera but my main choices to get this phone are battery life ,speeds, storage, and hdr+ and 120hz refresh rates👍
It’s so hard to call android phones future proof when their update life only really lasts 2 years .. but a 5G android capable phone now and by the time 5G is available as the standard, you’ll be needing to upgrade
Update life is such a sensitive thing though. I know people who say iPhone gets 5 year updates yet they switch the iPhone every year... What is the point of long service if you're going to swap your phone.
Camera is potato at the moment! If you take photos outside in good lighting like a photographer, you'll be fine! If you take photos inside, of kids or people... 🥔 Note: zoom is good if you can find a reason to use it
Xperia Z ultra was a good phone. I had the Honor media pad x2, Honor note 8 then Honor note 10. This phone is kinda small compared to them. Not sure why these crazy aspect ratios.
The camera on Samsung’s are so bad! Why it gets so much praise is beyond me! £1400 I have a IPhone 11 Pro MAX and purely got it for the camera! Go check that out of your after a great camera with great quality! Thank me later!
The auto focus issue will be fixed through an update...it's already rolled out in south korea
@@batsywatsy i just use the pro mode lol, its so much better then the auto mode.
I have the S20 ultra. And I love it. I haven't had any problems with with it. Love this phone
The HTC U Ultra or whatever it's called (it's been a long time), the only thing that stood out was the sapphire screen.
And that's only with a specific special edition U Ultra that wasn't available everywhere and costs even more than the regular Ultra.
One UI is the best android OS right now. Since 2012 google has been borrowing from samsung, pop up view, split screen, scheduling, lockscreen shortcuts, etc., This felt like a mature review on this phone. other reviews were just bashing it unnecessarily.
I damn near forgot all about HTC until the intro 😂
😉
I miss them.
I wanted to get one on T-Mobile but there's no way I'm going to pay 749 dollars down payment to get it. I'll just wait for the one plus 8 pro
Woah! That’s a lot for down payment
@@Pocketnow I'm on jump on demand. It's crazy

Exactly! I prefer the functionality

Same i love my s20 ultra. It's an absolute beast. To bad for the 5g thing for me since I don't live near places where 5g is available
Yea, me too. I'm not taking photos with the 100X Zoom. I just want so see what I cannot read xD
@@alonsoplacido1 the 5g signal is great and fast. Definitely a sweet phone.

Thank you for mentioning the whole software update thing Pixel fanboys always bring up. The latest version of Android is usually catching up to Samsung's UI when it comes to features and yes even though Samsung phones are only supported for two years, they get security updates way longer than that.
Security updates are pointless give me the next UI
Currently running a Pro Max, thought about upgrading to this but I think it’s too expensive for what you’re getting. The 120hz screen is beautiful and battery life is good as well but it just doesn’t quite feel “Ultra”. Maybe I’ll go for one when the price drops or a OnePlus 8 Pro as it seems that will bring many of the features on a less expensive and slightly smaller device.
But do you really need to switch already?
ur prob going to get iphone pro max 12 when they give out the 120hz and maybe 5g and you will pay more than what s20 is worth
The pro max when it came out was the same price so Apple pretty much is laughing at you
Agree 100%. Stock android is overrated esp even Samsung introduce these new features first. Finally, someone who knows about this.

Non of the reviewers care that much about software updates, because non of them uses a device more than 6-12 months tops. It sucks to use a 2017 software on 2020. The hardware is already dated, so the software updates get extremely important to me. That's why I probably won't buy any Samsung device ever.

- Pro Video mode's return
Among other things.

Jaime absolutely enjoyed and loved how you explained it and always like how awesome your Videos come out Thanks for all the great info. Deb 😉✌️👍

Wish the next phone has 40w wireless charging & 10hrs of Screen on time 🤞🏻
I've had my S20 Ultra for 2 weeks. I'm very satisfied so far. Especially with the quickness of the operation and battery life.
Yeah those two things are stellar
1:20 rocking that naked phone like a goddamn gangsta,
Iam watching this on a regular S20. And after 5 days I can say it is an amazing phone. Amazing display and performance, great camera. All in all I love it and I dont see negatives on the phone.
Duuude! Upload in the latest resolution. Most viewers watch from their phones
So....
Most complete phone ever
But if you get it make sure you send it back to the store?
I love the phone but there are some issues with the GPS going crazy especially when using Google maps.
Samsung just fixed the Auto focusing issues on exynos models... I would reconsider whether it changes photography or not.
I was a Samsung fan i bought s10+the day one at full price, but now i am angry at them if they (they will) keep driving the price up next time i will buy one plus and be their fan
You should maybe be mad at yourself. You can find the s10 plus for less than $500 now. Always wait if you want to pay less
@@TechLidBull yes i was also mad at myself. But i can't wait when after 3 years the time has come to upgrade i don't have the nerves to wait a few months and watch the phone been reviewed and i don't have it
I can't stand curved screens. I was a galaxy Note user until they brought in the curve.
Amazing review Jaime, I was just waiting for this to order mines. I have enough information to make my buying decision. Thank you.
👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks for the detailed review. One question , considering the price and w/o too much compromise, isn't S20 plus a better buy? Please advise.
Yeah I think it is
I just wait to hear your name in your awesome accent in every review :)
There’s an image of pure text on wall posters. Have a look. No issues there
@@Pocketnow Try focusing in close(r) like as close as it can.
Remember boys and girls, 1400$ and only 2 major Android updates from Samsung.
gabi8o 🤦🏽♂️😂😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥
You speak truth but I get a new phone once a year so I guess that will be someone else's problem lol. I think that phones should receive updates up until there technology is too far outdated for the actual update.
1400$-1600$*
2 years major udpate 4 years security and patches update. Samsung is way ahead of android.
While my 11 Pro Max will have updates probably until 2024 or 2025. Lol
I like the phone but will likely wait until the price drops before considering it
Wow, that is some good photos 😍
If I ever have a stroke, I imagine that my voice will sound like the way this guy pronounces his name
Envy does that to you. Stay healthy 😉
@Sebastian I'm sure he is. Still funny tho
Great review. I'm loving the phone and have been off charge for 2 full days with somewhat light use. However, Samsung really needs to push that camera update. I have 3 days left in return window and this goes back if no update. I want to trust them, but they shouldn't have released the phone like this.
Yeah we’re still waiting for it
Love your videos, try this...shoot 100X with flash on, it's a hack where it stops the post-processing and you will end up with a sharper image, let us know.
So at end of day, which is best ,the Oppo find x2, or the Ultra ?
Apart from camera issues this is an ultra phone battery life is all day long screen is fantastic movies all day very responsive 120 refresh rate when it does focus quality is dlsr
Hate or love it ? Its Ultra!
Depending on your income if you can afford s20+ for 200 extra you get all this
I've read comments of youtubers crapping on this phone's camera but my main choices to get this phone are battery life ,speeds, storage, and hdr+ and 120hz refresh rates👍
Considering Samsung is giving 600 off for trading in the regular S10 at the moment made it an easier choice
Awesome review Jaime. Packed with great info, one of your best 👍
I hope the Note 20 series is better with more color options! Scared to find out the prices tho. 😱
Note: zoom is good if you can find a reason to use it
I don't think of ultra, as better then the best, I think of it as extreme. Lives on the limits of it's class.
The only insane thing about a 5000mah battery for that phone is about how small it is.
