    Only at 38, Usha Chilukuri Vance is an accomplished litigator in her own right. She clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, as well as Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh when Kavanaugh was a federal judge. She has three young children. She is a member of the D.C. Bar, and most recently worked as an attorney for law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP until Vance's nomination. Andhra's pride!

      I’m a little surprised by her to be honest. Her husband made some incredibly derogatory comments about women recently. I can’t imagine someone of her caliber not being offended by it. PS Usha interning for Kavanaugh is probably what helped her husband being noticed by the Heritage Foundation

    • @lakshmig2061

      The way we exult in our Indians who went abroad and took advantage of a system that will take us centuries to lay down our own country. Vance is an American and not Indian nor Andhra now. Why not create something in our own country and boast of that. Had her parents stayed on in India, would she have reached the position she has because she was born and grew up in the US?
      I met a young man from the UK on a plane returning to the UK. We got talking and he had gone to meet his heritage in Bihar. He swore he would never go back again because they still lived in the condition, his great grand father had left them in. To attend the call of nature he had to go out in the fields where he saw about a dozen others doing their job. The village was nothing like the one he lived in the UK. The young man would not believe that it was the fault of politicians. They had to do something themselves

    It’s not “Kamla”. It’s “Kamala” in south India and she is South Indian. So her spelling is correct and pronunciation is more right than wrong. Like it’s not Ram but Rama in South Indian languages.

    • @hardtimeschaney
      @hardtimeschaney 3 месяца назад +1

      No she isn't a Tamil. She is a product of biracial marriage. She is only a half Tamil and the other half is of Jamaican parentage which is not pure unadulterated African but her father has English blood.

      @Divine_wave23 3 месяца назад +2

      @@hardtimeschaney no .her mother is tamil .so mitochondrial DNA which is like Y-chromosome for a women. This comes from south india. Why you north indians feeling proud when south indian achieves something I don't know . Even Vivek, Vance wife ,Google ,microsoft, Ibm CEO are all south Indians. They are either telugu or Tamil. Stop claiming their acheivements as yours .also stop feeling jealous on south indians success in USA.

    • @hardtimeschaney
      @hardtimeschaney 3 месяца назад

      @@Divine_wave23 I haven't said anything negative of Tamils, Telugu, Kannada etc. One should be proud of achievements of one's fellow national but claiming Kamala as one of yours is a bit of stretch, just as to assert claim on Nikki Min(h)age. As to the Silicone Valley crapshoot, the hiring of the Indian origin, albeit Southern Brahmins, CEOs, it's done for the purpose of DEI, just like Ka-Ma-Lah to piss off the Whites, who can easily fill the jobs... after all, the modern world in which you thrive was created by them and not by the Stalins of Madras. Hell! He couldn't kill a million flies, let alone wiping out twenty million citizens like his namesake did in the Soviet times. Pepsi was running just fine without Nooyi, just as Google without Pichai and Microsoft without Nadella or Mastercard without Bagra... don't get carried away and try to learn as to why brown monkeys are given preferences over the yellow, black and red ones in the circus of business. Jingoism, albeit the vindaloo kind, is just as bad as the biryani kind... we all appreciate the South's contribution for keeping Islam out of India.

      This is comedy. She is being funny. Btw, compare the salaries of those from bottom law schools and bottom medical schools. Real gems shine anywhere in any profession. Medicine is a profession with job security and if you are from a country where competition is fierce due to population then security becomes paramount for decently intelligent and hardworking folks who may not be competitive enough for great schools.

    What Zarna is saying is true. There are still many who think like this today. My daughter is doing physics major with a sub-major in nuclear physics at one of the top universities in the US. She chose this path because she isn't interested in becoming an engineer, and we never pressured her to pursue that. Her department boasts at least seven Nobel laureates. One of my Indian acquaintances here suggested that we ask her to switch to engineering, arguing that it's more marketable. This reflects the typical Indian mindset that prioritizes return on investment (ROI) over the child's interests and passion.

So Kamala Harris, a political superstar now wants to compete for the top most elective position in USA. All power and success to her. Not only India, the World wants to claim her as their own. With the exception of Donald Trump and his supporters. Let her rip: that is what all of us say. Kamala Harris Rise Further and Shine Like only you can.

I am however very happy for her personal success. if she was running for another country I would support her. but when it comes to her competence and track record and vision for the country it is just not the case. there are thousands of Indians who are absolute thought leaders and taking charge in America in every industry. Kamala is not one of them and never has been.

    Since 1999, I have greatly respected Barkha's journalism. However, I am disappointed by this show. Is attending an IIT the sole qualification for high-profile positions? It's troubling to see an uninformed comedian making judgments about women who have become prosecutors and judges, with the potential to attain the highest positions of power. Who studies History or Philosophy subjects on the weekends to write world-class theses? Barkha has diminished her credibility in the intellectual community by featuring such a poorly informed guest.
