This is my hometown and where I lived for 20 years. It had made significant contribution to the development of China since 1949. But I'm so sad that Jilin is forgotten by the country's development strategy. Not like the south-east coastal cities, the development of private businesses is restricted by the Central government. I went back go Jilin right before the COVID outbreak. It looked the same as what it was 10 years ago when I left. Anyways, Jilin is my hometown with my family, friends and childhood memory. I hope to see it gets better in the future. Jilin now gets some international credits for snow sports as it held the Asian Winter Sports Games. There are world class facilities and management team in winter. -30 degrees in winter, so get geared up
Hi Mingjie, that's great to hear. My girlfriend is from there, so we had visited Jilin City on vacation to see her family also. It is a nice area, but yes, compared to other cities I have visited in China, it is not as developed as you mentioned. I haven't visited in the -30 degrees weather yet, but I am used to the cold in Canada already 😀
Thanks @He Gao, I appreciate it. I don't live there, but I have been there twice and I love going there and enjoying northern Chinese food. Can't wait until I can go back to make more videos, stay safe.
I'm not Chinese nor do I plan to go to China, but I am curious about the towns and cities of the world and love to see what the places look like. So thanks for this! Lots of love from the US! Let's try to remain friendly with each other.
I am with you Robert. I also love to see what different places look like. Sometimes I even jump on Google Maps and check out street view of certain places to see what it's like. Great to receive love from the US. I'm just above in Canada 🙂
@@adriantravels Oh! I thought you were Chinese, my wish was actually towards them. I know the US and Canada are like best buds. It's a shame Google doesn't have Street View for China, and Tencent and Baidu's coverage is pretty limited.
@@MrIveyIsBonkers I was visiting my girlfriend's home town in that video. I agree, it would be great to have more coverage of areas in China. I would love to see them put cameras on top of their slow trains and get country side views too.
Yo dude, welcome, I live in Jilin city and make vlogs about it several times a week, let me know when you are coming to Jilin next time, I can get you a drink for sure!
Hey man, that's great! I've been to Jilin city twice because it's my girlfriend's hometown. Next time I'm there I'll message you to see what you're up to. I also subscribed, take care.
