I am searching the truth and so far I believe what bible says is true until I find a direct answer, not logical reasoning like Paul was talking about this and that. I will be surprised Paul being full of holy spirit will have two standard for women of some area and rest. There is no place where are women are prostitute. If Paul was referring to specific women, I guess we will use some definite article to refer them. To me it sounds like general reference because then He also connects to Garden where Adam was born before Eve and Eve sinned first. I have no fixed mind over gender but I don’t want to accept something because it is usual in these says. Porn is also usual but it big sin. I want to seek what God desires and commands us. Earth is full of false doctrine
Paul in verse 9 describes the women whom Timothy wrote to Paul about, (or do you think Paul in his holiness wrote out letters randomly without ANY prompting whatsoever he was a church father, not all-knowing) he describes them with 'elaborate hair styles gold, pearls and expensive clothing'. This is a targeted message, no flaming arrows in the darkness here. He also says they are saved in child-bearing, surely this doesn't mean every infertile women is sentenced to wrath. Context is all the text surrounding this concept. Also look at this passage in Greek, Paul picks very precise words. If our understandings are different beyond that, at least we can agree Jesus Christ is our sole, soul savior. But I encourage you get into more scripture because God does have ultimate sovereignty in whom he chooses to teach. I reference the prophets Anna, Miriam, Mary, also in one of the Hebrew's 'favored' periods we had a Judge who ruled the land who was a woman.
I tought the writing of Paul where scriprure! Well looks like we cant trust it😒😒😒. All of the bible is from god and is his revelation dont let her decive you. It is clearly there and you should obey it regardless if Paul wrote it or not! And also can someone tell me where does it say that Timothy was bullied by rich women please. god bless🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think the normal English translations that we tend to use are indeed clear. Taking about 120 translations, however, I found a roughly fifty-fifty split in what translators said was the true translation. When this happens, you know there's a problem with the original Greek, which takes precedence. So, what is the other, very clear translation? Well, it is: 'and I do not commission a woman to teach falsely or to have abusive authority over a man but to be in orderliness'. This is from Porter's 1000-page commentary on the Greek text. Another large commentary goes into detail about the Ephesian heresy, and shows how this lady minister can derive the point about rich bullying women. This commentary is by Mounce - it's nearly 800 pages in length. The third I would recommend is that by Marshall, about 800 pages in length. When there's problems in the original language, there's really no choice but to call in the experts.
Just because Paul says it, we can't entirely rely on this scripture? please explain 1 Corinthians 14:37 where it says "If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command"
Paul does not trump Jesus Christ!!! Women have always been oppressed by men. It's no surprise that Paul would tell women to keep silent in the church especially when women have lived in a world were men have looked at women as nothing more than a slave. It has always been this way in society. The War has always been against women even now in modern times.
where does it say that? i know what REVELATIO 22:18 says For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
They’re saying that the curse John wrote in the book of Revelation apples to the Letter Paul wrote to Timothy and it seems they believe she is altering the Word of God so essentially they are using the Word of God to curse her. Kinda like the Pharisees would do.
1.-- What does the Bible say about women pastors? A: Nothing. The modern 'pastor' has nothing to do with the church form of the early church: a paid professional Christian. The elders (who appear to include older men and older women in Titus) were not paid, some apostles gained support from the church, but perhaps not all. Overseeing is perhaps the function we are thinking of; but this is a function, not an office. 2.-- Our starting point has to be Galatians 3:28 and its expansion in the lists of 'gifts' which are not differentiated by sex; these are clearly the general case; and are exemplified in such terms in the NT. Thus the specific mentions in 1 Tim and 1 Cor 14 are circumstantial and specific. 3.-- 1 Timothy. The translation of 'exercise authority' plays fast and loose with a rare Greek word, which has the flavor of disparaging or gainsaying. The citation of the creation is perhaps to contest the pagan notion that the female is the generative superior to the male. Thus Paul reminds the people of the true order of creation (not to be confused with the myth of 'headship' v 'head' as source or basis, as in 'the head of the river') A better translation might be 'I do not permit women to disparage men because of their sex after pagan gods'. 4.-- Quietness in 1 Cor 14 is again specific, and in a passage about utilitarian order in the meeting; it appears to be about women randomly asking their husbands questions across the floor; otherwise women would not be able to sing, pray, prophesy, etc. Remember, the 'church' is the body of believers not activities in a particular building or context. We are all always Christians and together always operating as the church. 5.-- The nub of the issue is we still run a Roman Catholic church form with an 'archon' as the 'leader'. This is not the ancient church. Check Daryl Erkel's great essay The Urgent Need for Reformation in Pastoral Ministry at sermonindex [dot] net. In fact we need to generalize the usage 'minister' for all paid and unpaid servants of the church (and not the oxymoronic 'servant-leader')...which should be most people. Some of course, would be 'organizers' or 'coordinators' but no one is a 'boss', 'leader', or 'archon'. We are the body of Christ, not a business organization.
“Where two or things are together in My Name, there am I in the midst”. So if there is more than one person listening to a video even on RUclips, should a woman be allowed to make that video or to comment on it? Who is going to police this unless you want Islam where men go to mosque and the women may listen in the back or another room but do not participate. The man is instructed to display a whip over the fireplace so the woman knows what will happen to her. Everyone must scratch out all the positive things the Bible says about women and especially that “All are one in Christ Jesus” that “there is neither male nor female, bond nor free, male nor female”. That sounds nice but the Bible also did not end slavery. So why did Christians end it? Looks like the Muslims got it right? Speech shows others that we are thinking and that we understand. Why are parents of a girl baby excited when she learns to talk? What’s the good of it? When a woman cannot speak in church then why do we let the woman say “I do?” in the wedding ceremony? Why do pastors generally have a lady secretary? If she is in a church function, why is that allowable? Legalism is very unpleasant. You want a dead church like what happened after the Church Fathers wrote how vile women are? In comes the doctrine that Mary was sinless because women were all too vile to think that a woman could give birth to the Son of God. And didn’t a pope recommend that a man beat his wife with a stick not thicker than his thumb. I suppose this was kindness in that many men were using a much bigger item to beat their wives into submission? Let us welcome in a new Dark Age. If we think being stupid is better, a woman who teaches her child at home or helps with homework and then prays also with him, has made that home a church and she can no longer speak or she is sinning against her own son. She may speak to her daughter, and what sort of a mother would go along with this? If the husband and wife prayed together, he’d have to say the prayer and now they are living in a church so she can’t speak in that now hallowed house from then on. Legalism is a cancer and don’t we all want to die of it?
You make a really good point. I’m currently trying to think through this myself… like, is the desire to demonstrate and use talents an attempt to usurp authority? I know lots about the Bible and was getting many questions about how to interpret it, but humbled myself and said to ask the pastor instead because I don’t know if it’s usurping to be so good at something that people appeal to you. I don’t want to throw out the scriptures because I find life in them, but I also don’t know what to do because the hierarchy is backwards: By answering questions I am serving them by meeting a need for understanding, so am I making myself least or am I becoming an authority by answering the questions they asked? So yeah: really good point. At church the men and women sing together. It seems the idea is a woman isn’t allowed to teach, but that breaks my heart because the same people typically say women can be teachers or professors at schools, colleges, universities. What? Then the most important and life-giving information cannot flow from her lips?! But the proverbs 31 woman fears the Lord! And the Waldensians (good, stable Christians. Look up the 1655 confession because the Catholics kept badmouthing them)… Catholic hierarchy was upset with them for allowing laypeople to preach the gospel (ie evangelize). Both the men and the women would become evangelists, and spread the gospel to anyone who would listen: Both had access to and could read the scriptures. I can’t believe that the reading is that women must simply shut up, because women also get spiritual gifts and share them (1 Corinthians 11: Cover the woman’s head when she prophesies or prays. That means she made vocal noises)… also women have the mental faculties to do apologetics and debate and argument. What, then, does it mean that a woman must not have authority? Because Esther was Queen, and all of us still live in different social ranks due to wealth of job or social connections, and Esther used her authority to influence the King. So a woman can and should influence others?! But then what does Genesis 3 mean that a woman will desire her husband and her husband will rule over her? McArthur or someone said that the woman will want to have power and influence. Doesn’t everyone want that, both the guys and the girls who are ruled over? I don’t know what to say to this. I suppose I’ll pray, and think, and trust that God will teach me what I need to know. 1 John 2:27.
I would like to hear you go deeper in to this topic. When I read that passage, I understand it to be about the lines of authority. At the top is the pastor (who is the husband of one wife) and those under him are not to try to exert themselves over him, or to undermine him. But I'm not sure who this short clip is for. The men who believe that it is wrong to listen to a woman, even if she is speaking truth, will not have their herd hearts soften by hearing you suggest that any man needed to grow a pair.
In their respective order of authority according to Ephesians 4:11 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers
As for me, I absolutely don't have any problem with women being pastors or leaders in church. God said He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh, and both sons and daughters will prophesy. How do daughters prophesy to God's people if they don't speak at all in church? Remember, that women held leadership roles in Scriptures, right from the Genesis to the Revelation. Deborah, a woman was a judge In Israel, and she led a whole nation, which is way larger than a congregation. Also, Josiah, a little boy became king at eight years old. This is to show that this concept of women not preaching in church is satanic. The church is not a men's cult but the Ecclesia of God, and anyone can function as He permits, regardless of gender. God calls whoever He wills, and empowers whoever he wants. God can use anybody at anytime for whatever purpose He wishes, and we can't do anything about it, he's God. If God can use a donkey to speak to Balaam and little David to defeat Goliath, what the entire Israel was afraid of, why can't he use a woman to lead His church? Don't demonize what God deems appropriate. If you're a woman reading this, and God is calling you to minister, go ahead and don't let the devil use these religiously brainwashed folks to stop you. #EvangelistGlobal
What the Lord says to one church He says to all . Revelation 2:28-29 KJV - . 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. DON'T BE DECEIVED
If you read the entire scripture, you know Paul is discussing a particular problem in that church, not the entire body of Christ. Just a few verses before, Paul is discussing and praising female prophets. If Christ made us all free, why would women not be allowed to share their gifts and anointing as equal to men? That is pure common sense.
This is a great video. Many people interpret 1 Timothy 2:12 to mean that women shouldn't be pastors. On the surface, it seems like 1 Timothy 2:12 is explaining how women shouldn't be pastors. It's important to look at the context of that verse and chapter. 1 Timothy 2:12 says "I do not permit a woman to have spiritual authority over a man". The Greek word for permit in that verse is epitrepo which means a temporary kind of situation, which is evidence how Paul was forbidding women in Ephesus to be pastors, temporarily restricting women in Ephesus from being pastors, etc. The context of 1 Timothy 2 is about the culture of Ephesus. 1 Timothy is a book about Timothy ministering to the people in Ephesus. Certain things in 1 Timothy are universal, and certain things in 1 Timothy are cultural specific. In Ephesus, many women were misleading other women by teaching the false doctrine of Gnosticism. Paul temporarily restricted women from teaching in Ephesus to cut down on the Gnosticism problem. I agree with you how it's not a sin for women to be pastors.
Junia was an apostle according to Paul, and Paul said that she was an apostle of note among all the apostles which were mainly men. And an apostle is a much higher rank than a pastor! A pastor is right at the bottom....First apostles, second prophets, then evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Eph 4:11). And apostleship includes all of the five fold ministry work, there are no restrictions to what an apostle can or cannot do.
If you read the Old Testament and New Testament women are in lead positions. You have to stop basing your opinion on one verse. Read Bible history to get the answer.
If memory serves she sued that little worm. He promptly STFU and removed the videos concerning her from his channel. He hasn't said her name in public since.
Hang on, how did you end up on this video - honest qn: were you on some kind of spiritual truth quest? Sure, there are several interpretations of doctrines. But the essential ones cannot be compromised. That being said, Christians can disagree on secondary issues.
She's right. Most make preachers and teachers misinterpreted that part of context I say ignorant is a bliss. A and P help Apollos . Most men get it wrong.
In agreement with this whole message I loosen the true meaning of 1 timothy 2:12 to be interpreted rigthly for myself and the body of Christ, amen and hallelujah!
@PastorMelissaScott: Spot on Mrs. Scott. I was asked "why I needed the Bible-lessons of a woman. Didn't I know the Bible forbids women to teach"? My answer was:"Did Yahshua forbade Mary Magdalen to speak amongst the diciples"? I stay with you. You bring me a better understanding of The Bible and I thank you from The Netherlands. XO
Acts 2:16-18 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. Acts 18:24-26 24 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. Luke 2:36-38 Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; 37 and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. Acts 21:8-9 8 On the next day we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. 9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied. Romans 16:1-2 I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, 2 that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also. deacon, (from Greek diakonos, “helper”), Romans 16:7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. Junia was a woman and apostle
The new testament period was under the old roman govt, and they were pagan. The roman govt. (like the Greeks) treated women like chattel, and did not allow women to participate in religious ceremonies. Paul had to follow roman laws when setting up his church; just like the church today in the U.S. can't violate U.S. laws. We are not under roman law here in the U.S. Women can teach. Even if you believe women can't teach men, women can still have churches for women.
Pastor Melissa has been teaching me for almost 15 years if I’m correct. Just the fact that Dr. Gene Scott chose her as his heir and replacement is good enough for me.
I'm saying yes too! I wish my former sister in law was a pastor. She'll be asking people after the choir's last selection, who wants to sing a solo, as she holds the microphone to the audience. 🎤 "Who wants to sing a solo? Hellooo! Hey! We have some solo singers in here! Who wants to sing?!" Then the congregation remains very quiet.
She has a series that addresses some of these questions go and study, not just read fir the answers if you're rebellious and don't want to listen to the woman of God.
Preach sister! God gave us 10 commandments. If God felt it was important for women not to preach, wouldn't he have included it in the commandments? 🤔 Paul is not God. Only God is God.

Study to show yourself approved. Read the Old Testament and New Testament regarding women who lead. Never base something on one verse. History is key.

Nida Lloyd those men aren’t watching to learn, they are watching to argue. She’s not here for them.
In their respective order of authority according to Ephesians 4:11
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers

Was Paul the same person to have one woman to one man?

Well said, thank you
What the Lord says to one church He says to all .
Revelation 2:28-29 KJV - .
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
DON'T BE DECEIVED
i rather listen to "women" preacher teaching the truth and living in holiness that a men preachers teaching lies and living sinfully.
Exactly. Christianity is primarily compromised of women!!!!!
If Christ made us free, why would women not be allowed to share headship (leadership) in the family as equal to men? This is the actual common sense.
& Paul also said “I” meaning himself not All
Catholics say there are no female priest because Jesus chose only men as apostles. (?)
If that's the case, then why is Paul referencing with the scriptures to support that in verse 13 to 15 of that chapter
If you read the Old Testament and New Testament women are in lead positions. You have to stop basing your opinion on one verse. Read Bible history to get the answer.
Many women were preaching and it was expressed in the Bible, some were even prophetess.
A pastor and a prophet are two completely different jobs in the Body of Christ. Don’t lump everything together.
@@AnimalLover-yi5ik If you consider it a job then your on the wrong side of the faith.
@@inezojeda89 yes correct
This lady is gorgeous so she can do whatever she likes..
Interesting pass…
How was your run in with Lasala?
If memory serves she sued that little worm. He promptly STFU and removed the videos concerning her from his channel. He hasn't said her name in public since.
Interesting just heard the opposite argument a day ago, personally I believe you can learn from anyone, God made us all.
Why cant protestants agree on interpreting scripture? What a broken system.
Preach!!!
Christianity it’s so confusing I’m done
Hang on, how did you end up on this video - honest qn: were you on some kind of spiritual truth quest? Sure, there are several interpretations of doctrines. But the essential ones cannot be compromised. That being said, Christians can disagree on secondary issues.
She's right. Most make preachers and teachers misinterpreted that part of context I say ignorant is a bliss. A and P help Apollos . Most men get it wrong.
In agreement with this whole message I loosen the true meaning of 1 timothy 2:12 to be interpreted rigthly for myself and the body of Christ, amen and hallelujah!
amazing! Can i please have some sources if possible, so in order to back up my point in a paper i am writing

I don't get it
@PastorMelissaScott: Spot on Mrs. XO
Did Mary Magdalen preach in the church? Is it related to the context in the book of Timothy and Corinthians?

Acts 2:16-18
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
Acts 18:24-26
24 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus.
Luke 2:36-38
Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.
Acts 21:8-9
8 On the next day we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. 9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
Romans 16:1-2
I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, 2 that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also.
deacon, (from Greek diakonos, “helper”),
Romans 16:7
Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
Short answer yes.
I just discovered you about a week ago (on cable tv) and, was immediately impressed with your teaching.

The first woman preacher was Eve
Wish it was longer.
This woman does a great job. Paul wasn't speaking for Jesus, but himself. Melissa you are blessed to teach.

Prophetess or not pastors or preahers they bring messages from God
Exactly
Thank you Pastor Scott 💜
Your so right
love this! thank you for sharing, Pastor Scott!
Preach sister! God gave us 10 commandments. If God felt it was important for women not to preach, wouldn't he have included it in the commandments? 🤔 Paul is not God. Only God is God.
Mame thank u very much ppl jus dnt no how to read in context
As a woman nobody can teach like pastor melissa Scott she explains it so I can understand it
Amen !
