I am not from Edo so I really don't understand what the song is saying. But I have always found Benin songs to be emotive. I remember an NTA series on Benin and they used to play these emotive songs. Atimes they sounded too emotive. I used to watch the series just because of the songs.

These songs remind me more of my childhood, I am not from iyeke oronmvon but I was born there and I used to visit my ground parent until they passed. I remember then we use to have moonlight stories among our age group in the presence of our grandparents. Going home for holidays then was really awesome and the memory lingers to date.

I think Nekpen is setting a pace, let's teach our children our history, tell our story, let's not run away from home, think of things you can establish back home that can develop, uplift your root and unite you with your motherland, I have decided I will be teaching my family our history and story like my grandparents & parents did.
