Right?! How much does a darn DVR cost? I would have praised it more if it did. A penny saved is not necessarily a penny earned. A DVR would have made it a legit 3 axis gimbal GPS quad. Thanks Greg :)
Nice comprehensive review. Actually the 1st one I have found on this particular drone. I’ve owned this drone for about 3 months now and pretty much agree with all of your comments in the review. Especially that it really should have a micro sd card slot for better quality video storage. Unfortunately, I had a fly away with mine a few weeks ago where it came roaring back at me from about 75 yards away, backwards and out of control. Smashed into the brickwork on the back of my condo. It was really odd as I was just changing the pitch on the camera angle to get a better video shot on a couple of geese on a pond. All of a sudden it just flew straight back at me in reverse and hit the bricks. The damage was extensive … right rear arm busted off and hanging by the wires, top of fuselage busted up at the mid-point seam and the camera/gimbal assembly hanging by its remaining wires. Thought it was pretty much a lost cause. Amazingly, laid all the parts on the table, reinserted the battery and the lights come on. Then I turned on the controller and it bound with it. I activated the motors and that little sucker spun up the props on the 3 surviving motors. I noticed that the severed motor arm had a busted wire so I soldered that and it also spun up as I held it in my hand. I did some quick emergency repairs … rubber bands, zip ties, tape, etc and that damn thing actually would fly in a controlled hover indoors using the Optical Flow Mode! Even the camera was still functioning … transmitting video to my phone! The gimbal did not work because of 4 broken really thin control wires, but I may try and fix those too and see what happens. At first I was angry about what had happened, but I have to admit I kind of like the spunk of this little guy. If I can find a replacement fuselage and arm for it, I may try to rebuild it since apparently the flying components still work. Until then, I'll just keep flying him all bandaged up. Keep up the good work … we need reviews like yours on these drones.
Hey, sorry to hear yours got hurt somewhat. One of the things I have learned is to use the soldering iron with a crappy tip is to weld plastic together when it breaks using none other than a broken prop. Instead of trying to glue the thing back together, weld it. Put some more reinforcement plastic from the broken prop and it'll be even stronger than before :)
@@RCEscape Hey, thanks for that good suggestion. I might just try that. If I do end up fixing this guy, it probably won't be a foldable quad anymore, but that's ok. Even with my temporary fix it still fits in the bag with only the front legs folding (removed the foam inserts). I'll have to tear it apart again anyway to see if I can do anything with that gimbal. Otherwise it'll just have a solid mounted camera, which I guess is better than nothing. Thanks again.
Yea, it’s me again. Hope I’m not being a nuisance, but I do have one last question on this drone. On the App. it has a “Route Planning” function (Waypoint is another name for this) and it is pre-set to a radius of 50 meters maximum. This is a rather small area for Waypoint flying. I’ve tried everything on the app to make it larger but it seems to be stuck at 50 meters. Do you know of any way to expand that area? I have this splendid pond out behind my condo that is perfect for programmed flying, but can’t use the s7s for this because of that 50 meter limitation. I do believe that this little drone is an excellent value for the money and is the reason I’m trying to get the most out of it.

There are some gps quads that does not have rth or geofencing when gps is turned off but most better gps quads do still have geo and rth even in "atti" mode. It just does not have gps position hold to stay in position. One thing is it does not have a dvr so if I were to send it with an aio, I will need an action cam mounted for HD video... DVR!!! Why does it not have a DVR?!!

What you get for the price is good but no DVR...why? why don't they put a cheap DVR on board? I have no idea. The video is ok. It is still in real time even with the skips but a DVR would have been better.
My first attempt was disastrous. Took me forever to figure out how to sync up with the drone. And then it crashed into the side of the house. Now the gimbal is just dangling down... So frustrated.... beginner flight

Can you PLEASE help me. I ordered an F11 4K 2 Axis Gimbal Drone from ebay and it arrived on 22 April 2022. While Charging the two Batteries and Controller I Downloaded and Installed the App. With the Drone switched on I have been trying to connect to the SJRC network but my Android Phone can't detect it. I have tried so many times it drained the Battery. How do I get my Phone to Detect the SJRC Network?
@@RCEscape With the Drone switched on I went into my Phone's Settings. Selected WIFI and my phone was about 5 inches from the Drone. All that came up was the usual Networks. I tried Add a Network but I couldn't answer the Box that came up.
@@Jamienomore So you turned on the drone, turned on the remote and they are now bound and went to the wifi section of your phone and there is no wifi network showing up for the drone? Try a different device. Or try resetting your phone.
@@RCEscape I have two other newer Android Phones. One after another I downloaded the App to them and Installed it. Neither of them could pick up the Drone's network either.
@@Jamienomore you need a phone with 802.11ac WiFi capability. Not all phones have this type of WiFi. Many older phones do not have this type of WiFi and will not work with this drone.
I really like the video quality and if you are installing a 3 axis gimbal, why not a DVR. Good job Pete.
