  • Highlights from yet another all Granada meeting.
Apologies for the quality of the footage towards the end - the camera battery ran out so I had to use my phone and photography camera.
    Enjoy!

Where do they find that many,it's not like the scrappers are full of them any more

They spend big money buying the cars wherever they are and fill their yards full of them. Plus they've got lorries so it's easy to move cars.
Banger racers scrapyards are still full of Granadas but hundreds are disappearing every year...

Adebat keep looking on eBay ,there's a army if rats that pounce on projects and barn finds then report them on banger websites.
Then they get stored usually by scrap men / banger racers for big meets like this

Are any of them stolen? I've read comments on other videos that read some cars are sought and stolen specifically for banger racing. If what they're saying is true, that's really fucked up.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. The supply of (scrap) Granada's has dried up in the UK, road going ones are bloody rare. There are one or two on the continent - I'm surprised no-one from the banger racing community has gone abroad to pick them up.

This may just be me my ignorance, but this banger racing stuff seems to attract a lot of dickheads. Derby guys here in the states (from what I've seen) don't actively destroy classic cars with the sole purpose of upsetting people.
I mean, what the fuck? Why do they do what they do in the UK? Is it their mission to completely destroy automotive history? Or is it just a mockery of classic car ownership?
They love to make the excuse of - "restoring these old bangers is a waste of money, mate". But they seem to have no problem of going through the trouble of sourcing rare cars. Then spend the time and effort, building the cars up just to destroy them.
I'm just glad that 'banger' racing never became a popular motor sport here in the U.S..

I wish I would have discovered these banger videos before I had to retire from signwriting, due to health issues. I did a lot of race cars, and although some of us in the US would call it "Jersey style" (as in New Jersey) lettering, I could see how quickly this "fancy" lettering can be done, if your shop equipment is set up where everything needed, can be accessed quickly.
