This is Shirley Jones son, let cocaine take everything in his life, just when he was overdosing, called upon Jesus, the same exact position I'm in now, currently 3 weeks clean and God is showing me he's with me, he's really with me.
I believed in God from when I was a small child. My mother taught me how to pray, how to grow stronger in God. She taught me everything. And I did believe in God, prayed atleast 3 times a day. When I turned 14, I started getting bored with my life. Wanted to try different new things. That's when I got away from God, got into bad habits, started cursing at God. Tried to accept Satan as my Dad. I thought this was the life I rly wanted but suddenly one night at around 2am I suddenly couldn't breathe, my heart was racing fast. Faster than I ever could imagine. I can tell it was atleast a 150 beats per minute. My mind was going numb, I couldn't breathe. I prayed to God to stop all this and promised to live according to His will. When I accepted Him, I had to go through sicknesses but I believed in Him at all times. Now when I look back at it, I know God is at control.
Yep. God will give you your connection and relationship to him easily at first, but once you turn away, then later decide "I want that connection back" he's going to make you work for it cause he wants to make sure you won't throw it away again and ensure that you cherish it once he gives it back the second time. I'm so glad you were able to find God again.
@Autistic_Daughter_Of_The_King this is painful to read and I don't know why you would say this, I'm struggling coming back to the Lord and feel at the end of my rope, I feel if I don't do everything perfectly I've lost sight and can't turn to him, I'm sorry if this came off aggressive but so lost struggling coming back, struggling to even read a chapter, feeling like I should be doing more, numb to conviction that it only frustrates me when I know I've fallen to sin again, I feel I'm on the brink of falling Away from the faith. Heard this song featured on the CNN (christian news network) that my memaw was watching and I've been going through a rough patch with my self-identity and my mom dying from liver cancer. I've been skeptical, but this song is inspiring me to dip my toes back into rebuilding my faith in Jesus. My experience with the church has scorned me, so I'm aiming to build my relationship with Him and Jesus at my own pace and in the way that He wills it.

Heard this song featured on the CNN (christian news network) that my memaw was watching and I've been going through a rough patch with my self-identity and my mom dying from liver cancer.
I've been skeptical, but this song is inspiring me to dip my toes back into rebuilding my faith in Jesus. My experience with the church has scorned me, so I'm aiming to build my relationship with Him and Jesus at my own pace and in the way that He wills it.
