It's been 2 years, but I guess you would know this by now, but don't cut sideways with a tape gun, you angle it downwards, hence the plastic part on the top. Just for anyone else reading as I haven't seen any comments yet about how to use it properly.
This video is for the home use box sealing purposes. I do warehouse packaging, so this video is appropriate home use. In warehouse packaging, we never need to use our other hand to pull or place the hanging tape to bind it to the box. If your needing to use the free hand or remove the tape from the handle or brake ( metal or plastic brake) then you need to master the gun, and or make necessary cleaning of the gun to it's design purposes. There is no videos for commercial warehouse taping of boxes. We process about 8,000 boxes per day, half if them are by hand, while use of machine tape autonation sealer for the remaining amounts
You make a great case for a 3 inch gun. I have experienced numerous times with a 2 inch gun favors one side of the other and then you have to go over it like you did. Do you prefer the fine tooth or the rough tooth blade?
When springs ( only springs are used on the brake mechanism) are in the design it's to achieve tension on the tape and from not allowing excessive tape to be in the carisol. When those springs are flying out, the tape gun needs to be rebuild, as it's dislodged from it's center pin.. the washers that are on the screws are to aid in the locking of the assemblies ( roller, metal frame bracket and guides). Once those are loose, they require a compression torque. In some cases if excessive use, the rebuilding if the tape gun will not be possible due to the lower grade plastic wearing out and not able to secure the galvanized screw. Some of the tape guns are not designed for heavy use.
So it’s really just like having the dispenser that is supplied with most tapes. I don’t see how it’s that much different. Also you can save tape if when you use the tape on the sides and won’t get those little flaps if you press down the top and bottom and then take the end and bend it down so it sticks to the side of the box and then what is left press towards the top (or bottom) whichever side you are working on, then you don’t get those flap and don’t need extra tape to cover it so you are saving even more.
It’s much better quality than the average tape dispenser. I see what you’re saying on the flaps but they often still pop up if not secured with another piece of tape on the sides. Especially good to do with heavy boxes.

Thank you! Best Video for tape so far
Thank you for this!
Sure thing. Be sure to subscribe.
Well done a professional vid at last.
Hey DOM. Thanks for vid. I have been using scissors becuz I’m so cheap. ..but your dispenser taps rings around meNice. Thank you.
I used to use the scissor. Never again. Lol
Tape weighs a lot. So in estimating shipping weight the 3" tape will be less weight. Sometimes I need that extra 3oz.
Lol. I just went through this craziness because I couldn't find my tape gun! I even opened a new one because I knew where the tape started! Lol
Love the vids. Very helpful.
dank.onion thanks so much and thanks for watching!

Thanks! The one I use has metal teeth at the end and they are small so I assume fine.
Thanks about to order me one now
Enjoy!
How do prevent the gun from flying apart after a few boxes? I have washers and the spring flying in all directions. Solution please.....
Buy a uline tape gun

Your link for the 3-in gun actually goes to the 2-in gun
Thanks! I just fixed it.
Do you have an updated link on the uline tape 3 inch gun? The link on the description is not available
Yes check my newer videos. Thanks
2" or 3" tape, 2 strips of tape will still be used down the center seam. No less tape will be used.
Nope. Can just use one 3” strip down the center seam which is less tape.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Technically correct since with a 2" you are overlapping the tape slightly between each pass.
2" is way easier to find.
It’s very easy to find 3 inch as well on Amazon though
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Can't you use 2" tape in the 3" gun anyways?
@@CampfireCrucifix it would be awkward but I guess
I would think that most people use the dispensers that come with the tape...
Nope. Most buy the tape separate and then get a dispenser. Plus, you want a quality dispenser, not a cheap one.
