This is not a song, is a experience.
Absolutely… an experience and a journey.
Without a doubt...
Exactly ❤
This song is a mental journey
179/97mmHg
This the best version of this song by far.
The fact that this come out at a live show tells you everything about the nature of this band and about what was rock music in that age.
It's like searching for different versions of Dark Star of the Dead. There are so many and all of them have their own quality. This kind of music isn't made anymore.
Without a doubt! Pretty much a daily listen for the past decade🙏🤙
This is the best version. Period. This was the first version I listened to. I consider myself lucky for it. No other version makes me feel the way this does
That Age.
Roger is really in the mood here
Ah, that's what the kids are calling it these days.
Think that is down to the so called cigarette.
Takoe Lazare
Rick was the soul of Pink Floyd!
He was influential for a while, but in Animals and The wall he didn't get the lyrics in Waters songs which were a bit too agressive for his taste and he didn't do anything. In The wall which some consider their best album he was totally irrelevant. In Dark side Wright was very important (US and them, the great gig, any color, breath) maybe even more relevant than Gilmour as a composer.
Yes, Rick was the master of keys and sound effects 🎹🎹🎹🎹
@@pluso anyone who considers the wall as floyds best album hasnt heard of pre dark side floyd.
Rick was cool, but loved the Coke too much and was more interested in saving paying tax. Going to Greek Islands to avoid paying his dues. Roger was the lyrical genius the band required to become the rock legends, they all aspired to become. Dark Side, WYWH, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut..... Enough said.
@@gerrarddonnelly3853 if Roger is that good, why after PF nothing else happened?, the sound of Wright is epic, not everybody can be replaced as Roger said
1:11 When you step on your cat’s tail
Lmfao 😋
😂❤
Pink Floyd > Music
Atmospheric black metal from 70's.
BLACKWATER - Bass, screams
FRIGHT - Keyboards
GILMORE - Guitar, voices
MANSON - Drums
Best comment ever 😂
technically from the late 60s
KILLMORE*
Pink Floyd never played black metal bro. Their style is psychedelic rock.
@@tiborseres8701 LOL! Of Course! But this is a subtle joke, an this Song is Origins of Black Metal! It couldn't be More SATANIC! Many Bands have adopted Roger's eerie AF whispers & that Scream as Vocal Scripture! From Abbath to Axl Rose have used that "Eugene" Scream!! Pink Floyd has quite a few Satanistic Songs. This one, Sheep, One of These Days ("I'm gonna cut into little pieces") Most of The Wall & All of the Atom Heart Mother suite! Have You heard that Live?? Many others to speak of.
THESE GUYS ARE A LIFE MASTERPIECE
Damn strait
Best version of this song I've ever heard.
Gilmores guitar playing is hauntingly beautiful. A sad tragic feel to it. Like grieving the loss of a loved one.
Young Millennials generation deserve to understand what true freedom of expression might ever mean, yell it out with no fear, what a great track, EPIC indeed
There are lots of people born late 90s to 2000 at least that listen to this, myself and some I know do. But yes it is not extremely well known, but it does not need to be.
What are you talking about, millennials are all in their 30’s now. Young people are gen z.
Let's get off the generational crap and ALL enjoy the music Floyd made!
Yell it out it is
Gen z here listening to this Masterpiece
I saw them play this song on 9/15/1972 in Tucson. They also played most of Dark side of the Moon. I was 14 and they really blew us away.
nothing like them. never has been, never will be. Unmatched.
Pink Floyd is the best of all times.
Roger's bass should quit smoking
ik its pickguard used to be white and healthy now its black and sick
@@nigelpisswater484 LMAO
The Bass is named Eugene.
Eugene was told to be careful with that axe while smoking.
I think he actually laughed at that comment lol
Lol
Definitley the best version of this song with the umma gumma and Pompeii versions just behind it. The way rog uses his inhale noise throughout the song even before the main scream adds a lot as well as the little riffs gilmour adds at the same time.
Lenin why the fuck are you alive and commenting on a Pink Floyd video
I wholeheartedly agree, Vladimir Lenin
They have to have the whole concert on film. Probably somewhere in their vaults
i hope :))
That would be an interesting project..release the whole concert..COme on We will buy the DELUXE versions. LET IT OUT lol
We can only fuckimg hope
Yes i think they have full but its unrestored and the cameras are now not mixed because only set the controls for the heart to the sun and careful with that axe Eugene are part of the Mixed Brighton Film and we have this footage since a long time ago and Pink Floyd only restore it for The Early Years Box Set but its no New Footage so...
If i remember right, there was bootleg of the concert circulating ~20y ago on 3(or 4)cds. Video reso was poor but great audio quality.
top 3 floyd and i stand by that
This is my favourite version I've listened to it a thousand times glad to be on the official channel
I agree 💯 ❤❤❤
AGREEMENT
SAME!
My fave. Do not judge me
Wow😳 I love this song. Roger delivers one of the most blood curling screams in thehistory of rock ‘n’ roll! 👍👍❤️❤️
I never thought to beg Roger for just one shriek whenever he picked me up hitchhiking fifty years ago!!!
Gilmore. Proving it’s not how many notes you play, but how you play the notes that matters.
I always tried to convince my bands in the past to cover this song...Would be intense to hit the unsuspecting crowd with this. Most people would have no clue what this song is, but those in the know would truly appreciate it ;)
One of the scariest songs ever made.
Finally someone says it.
I always thought so too. Scary but oh so amazing.
Pure raw expressionism.
I agree 👍 It's so visceral (that's the only word I can think of to describe it) It just blew me away as a teenager in the 80s and still does 🤘
@@jacquelinemorris7959 Good way to describe it I must say.
It's creepy and yet it tickles the imagination as well so strongly.
Also because the Floyd never explained this song, and gave an real sense of what it is about.
But that also means it upholds it's mystery as well.
Several species of small furry animals by them is also pretty scary.
@@Mike_416 Oh I never heard of that one. Which album can I find that on.?
Dave singing to his guitar lines.........Very unique sound. Beautiful.
I saw them on this tour in 1972 and then again in1973....The 73 show they opened with this song...And ended with One Of These Days....An absolutely unbelievable show....What a great band Pink Floyd was
how old are you now ?
1972? Do you know where and particularly when (date) this version was recorded?
The memories of a man in his old age/ Are the deeds of a man when he’s a child!
...mmmmmm... _close!_
in his prime
I'm at home with myself....
Agree....
love this version ..my favorite is at the palace theater....no band will ever come close to these humans
Idk i come pretty close in my opinion
@ElementZero Even though Zeppelin is also considered "prog", they are very very different.
🤝💪🏻
Sorry but where are you finding the Palace Theater cut? I've not seen it anywhere online.
Pink Floyd was the soundtrack of my youth.
It’s still mine.
L
Mine too. I still go out of my way to listen to them. I saw them 3 times.
Pink Floyd si the soundtrack of my life
@@Intuitive1 i envy you man, I’ve only been lucky enough to see Waters live and it was by far one of the best moments of my life
THE PINK FLOYD SOUND
"Careful with that axe,Eugene is a perfect presentation by Pink Floyd .A unique way to hear this music, you feel like traveling with it in a genius way.
Careful with that bass Roger!!
Blackwater 🎸 on the bass ............ Master
💜
Pink Floyd with their music from the 70s were already at least 40/50 years ahead. I never get tired of listening to them, how lucky I was to be able to see them live too...The best ♥️
Their most underrated song
This Is the best version of the song by far.. Gilmour's guitar around 2:27 is pure magic
Dave is double tracking what he is playing with his voice. That’s the magic.
Thank You Pink Floyd for releasing these moments of history being made. I used to only enjoy this on poor quality bootlegs. This is why I also keep going back to watch the original Live in Pompeii for the pure & unadulterated musicality of the group back then. Not that they aren't still amazing today but then it was soooo raw & free!
The pompeii concert is the absolute peak of pink floyd in my humble opinion. It's legendary. The main reason I visited the city a few years back
@@eon14873 they were more comfortable in their own skin at that moment in time....I totally agree...
People dont realize, this is the song that started all horror movie soundtracks that we hear today
Best version of careful axe
Love 69-72 floyd years ....
Hello Syd, i thought you passed away in 2006
Big fan of you😂😂

Best version of one of the greatest songs of all time..
Both versions : Live at Pompeii and Brighton Dome are Wonderful pieces of art
The best song of all time
1:10 When the music is gets so chill you let out a little “Eeert!”.
Pink Floyd
Can you please make one more concert together after this f****** corona and play some of the early stuff like this one.
Nick Masson's Saucerful of secret,
the other 2 are not
interested in playing early
stuff
would be difficult given that rick's dead unfortunately
@@To0mChannel45 I know... But still better than nothing...
not sure if roger could scream like that again
Nick and Richard were the glue between Roger and David, I'm afraid it's pretty hard to see a reunion, and wouldn't be the same without nick and richard.
6:52 Soulful Strat 😢😢
So unreal how otherworldly this is. The mental odyssey of the experience is like nothing I've ever felt before
I'm so glad to be a child of the sixth!
Bass players always the genius one in the band, not sure why!
I was there! Brilliant 🎉 I was 16😊 Always remembered the pink smoke
Morning freak-out music. I love the sound of Richards Farfisa organ.
DANG! I don’t think any other Classic Rock song could ever have as good of a scream as Roger Waters!
The Pink Floyd grabs your soul
The definitive version of this song. Exploding music. Somebody get me a time machine back to 29th of June 1972
Wish there was no cut right at the end, but since this is on the official channel now, I do believe that this is the only version of Eugene that they have themselves. Up to this point I had hope of more peak Floyd footage from this concert, like the second set of it would be restored and released. Glad of what we have though, and that we do have it - the band was on fire that night!
Well, there's the pompeii version
So much grittier than Pompeii and when you've listened to Pompeii for 30+ years, finding something like this is GOLD..
@@nahiaintfine6082 while the Pompeii version is great, this is on another level entirely.
To my brother Tom who used to link this to me all the time. We loved the Floyd. 6 years gone and a other Christmas without you. I hope you're listening to this tonight bro. I come back to it and it always brings a tear to my eye.
4:45 roger starts to scream, the part we love of this song
The has to be one of the best live performances by any band ever
If doesn't get any better than that ☺️💯🔥
Would have loved to get a better look at them playing the instruments, but not complaining
This one Is the Mother Of Music Life
Extraordinary and 👏
Classic... My all time favorite band.. Roger is so good... They made history... Greetings from Pakistan.
Love from Pakistan 🫶🏻
I read a pink Floyd book, they used to call this (the one note song)if I'm not mistaken.I forget how they came up with "careful with that axe engine. Eugene. Saucer full of secrets book.
It takes me to another dimension every time I listen to it. ❤
5:55 is the best tone ever! Hear that echo
Sublime! Love it!
These guys as a whole are nothing short of "Genius"...
Roger was like: 😈🦅
This is the best version . period
I could play like this too.....if I only had their talent.
That Scream 🤯 Roger Waters Invited Black Metal 🤘 What a mesmerizing 😳
I’m nuts with this version … the best ever just mind blowing ..
it literally makes me high! Its a divine feeling no other band, will ever, fuckin, replace. sometimes I feel like it's such a blessing to actually know this, listen to this, feel this
Rodgers”scream” is still blood curdling after all these years.

Definitely the best version ever performed of this masterpiece
Took me thirty years to find this now we have you tube. Used to do so on bootleg cassettes back in

Best track ever by PF. Best song ever in history, maybe.

Never knew he could sing like a bird ♥️♥️♥️and echo sing like that ♥️♥️♥️
Perfection. Nothing compares to Pink Floyd
One of my favorite songs ever by Pink Floyd and on the history. And in one of the best gigs of Pink Floyd. Amazing
The best thing that ever happened to me was getting the book "Another Brick In The Wall" which added nsight into their recording projects up until Pulse I believe. 13 year old me learned so damn much about this amazing band. I thought for sure I was the only one in my school listening to Ummagumma.
Incredible performance!
This is a lullaby to me
People dont realize it and Floyd doesn't get credit but this is the genesis of all modern horror movie soundtracks you hear today
One of the best bands ever
THE best band ever
Did anyone here attend to this gig? If it does, you are my hero from now on!
Sadly not this one as I was in Cardiff, but I was at the earlier one at Brighton Dome in June '69.
@@davebraund1228 I was Born in December '69. I believe it was an awesome gig.
@@h.a.deccodrummer8467 I was 17, and managed to snare good tickets for me and my almost 14 year old brother. We lived 12 miles away so my parents said that would take and fetch us, and they'd go for a meal during the gig. It turned out that their meal finished early, so they decided to wait in the foyer and my mother felt the need to explain to staff that they were there to meet us at the end of the gig. Someone must have heard Mum saying that the music sounded good, so they were promptly ushered through the doors and allowed to watch the remainder of the gig, about an hour, standing inside the auditorium. These Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Shirley Bassey fans became instant closet Pink Floyd fans at age 45. And yes, the gig was awesome!
@@davebraund1228 What a vibe! Thanks for sharing it with me!
