My 2006Chevy Silverado 1500 ac controls only worked on 2, 3 and 4. Then all of a sudden it stopped blowing altogether. I replaced blower resistor now everything back to normal. Thanks for your video, it saved me some time and money!
May I ask which part and where u got it from? I have 03 Suburban and my heat doesnt blow out at all in the front when it did i had to use it on 5 now its completely out! My rear blows out cold
This video was great. I bought the replacement resistor part from Advance AutoParts and it is a CarQuest part, SKU RUC1007. I do not recommend getting this part. It comes with only two holes for mounting and the website notes that you may have to discard a mounting adapter/bracket. The CarQuest part will not mate with the adapter bracket on the original, so this means that you can only attach one screw to the CarQuest part! My advice is to get an original GM part or at least one with four mounting holes.
Excellent job. Same exact problem on my 2006 Silverado. Unfortunately, the large connector was fused onto the old part. Had to splice a new connector harness in, but fortunately the new part came with a harness. Thanks 👍
I found that if you remove the one bolt that holds the blower housing cover thing that is just to the right of the blower resistor, it is significantly easier to remove that back connector as it gives you direct access to press the holding clip down which releases the connector
I have a 2006 Silverado Z71 with a digital a/c control. Not sure if that matters or not. The A/C worked great and then would intermittently just stop blowing air. The display would not change. It would show 70 degrees with the snowflake light up. The fan was turned up and I tried turning it down, changing temp, etc. Nothing worked. It would randomly just start working again perfectly. This went on for about a few weeks. Then it stopped working and has never come back on this time. The display shows it on and we believe a very slight cold air can be felt but the air does not blow out anything. Suggestions of what needs to be fixed.
Nice. Thank you. So another thing: driver side AC/HEAT works but not the passenger side. The rear has the same problem as in the video where only top speeds 2 & 3 wrk.
the rear has its own resistor - you can find the video on how to change that here ruclips.net/video/f95Df5V-Dqs/видео.html. Not sure on the other thing
Does it fix the rear ac also? Or is there another register for that? My front ac works all speeds but when I turn in the rear above my head or above the passanger seats 1 & 2 don't work. I have a 2005 LS suburban
my truck used to just work on 5 now the front doesnt blow at all!! and the rear just blows out cold air I have coolantin there do you think I should just go for the resistor or blower motor
I have the auto mode unit for hot/ cold. It blows high on cold 60. Then going higher fan speed lowers. And no heat anymore. As earlier at 90 oy it would blow heat.
@@aarontremain6797 Hi. I had to buy the connector as well. Advance Auto or Autozone should have it. Take a picture and let them know make and model. Label all wires before cutting and rewiring. (pins on the connector are labeled with letters)
I remember back before youtube was a site for advertisements, you could watch videos on here, but even then, like now, im not sure where they get the videos they play for a couple seconds between ads, but you type in a specific vehicle, and the vehicle they put in the video is nothin like the one you have, and if theres 100 different videos of the vehicle you typed in, not one of them in those 100 videos is like the one you typed in
What if only the dash blower and foot blower work, but not the torso blower. I have no heat or cold, just ambient temperature, but the freon pressure is good. And the blower speed only works on auto, and kicks low and high constantly, cyclically. lol! (serious)

You’re Welcome! Glad it helped
Perfect fix for my 02 Suburban! $19 part, probably saved me $150-200. Thanks for making the video!
You're welcome! Glad it helped
$19 we’re at autozone not under $90
Same here I am doing it myself later today wish me luck

@@kjackson8701 it’s a little resistor that controls the blower speed, easy fix per the video. That may or may not be what’s wrong with your heater.
Hands down the best video I’ve seen on this. Great job man👍
Appreciate that!
Very good job on this video. I really like the way you explain the step you are doing and then skip to next shot. Best time saver of any DIY video.
Thanks!
This video was so clear and well made! Thank you.
Thanks!

Thanks! You're Welcome
Very good information.
Thanks!
Do you know where the resistor is for the other controls??
Does it fix the rear ac also? Or is there another register for that?
My front ac works all speeds but when I turn in the rear above my head or above the passanger seats 1 & 2 don't work.
I have a 2005 LS suburban
There is another resistor for the rear - you can find that video here ruclips.net/video/f95Df5V-Dqs/видео.html

yes
Thanks a lot!!! Too bad I found out the connector was all burned out. But I can take it from here. XD Regards.

What did you do to fix yours? My blower still isn’t working with the new resistor
@@aarontremain6797 Hi.

Would fix the problem I have is speeds 4 and 5, and how much was that unit?
It should - this was from a couple years ago, I honestly can't remember how much it was then
Replaced: speed resistor, blower motor, checked fuses, still doesn’t blow any air? Any advice?
not sure - those are all the main things to check. Is your blowing motor getting power to it?
@@PYR-Auto it has 13v but once the blower is connected it drops under 5v
I have all my speeds working just not heating and cooling ... could that be a bad resistor as well????
I don't believe this resistor controls the heat/cooling in any way
That is probably low refrigerant if it is blowing but not allowing to cool
Could be blend door actuator
I replaced the blower and resister still no air. Don’t know where to go from here. Fuses look good nothing blown
not sure on that sorry
Back air works but the front doesn’t should that do it
Whta if only speed 4 doesn’t work?
it could be the resistor

What if no speeds work
Thanks it was definitely the resistor but now there’s a whistling noise I hope I don’t need a whole new ac thing

I don't think replacing this resistor will help in that scenario
Mine blows but only at the window not straight out?
mine does that too did you solve the problem?
No
