    **Edit - downloadable PDFs to build your own model with sarcophagus and inserts will be downloadable soon. If you’re interested.
    Apologies that the narration is even worse than usual. I have another cold (I blame the kids) and it took a long time to get a coherent 10mins recorded, and you can tell there are lots of sentences joined together in 2 parts. Oh well, I tried my best, considering! Matt, the last time i was in the great pyramid was this past spring and we had exclusive access for 4 hours. we studied, filmed and measured everything we could. one absolute thing i did was measure the box and the block adjacent to it, and yes the box is smaller than the block. i believe this is the only way i can see that the box was slid into the chamber. if it was put in some other way, they hid it well.

    You should follow up on this excellent observation. There are so many videos out there now claiming the pyramid had to be built around this sarcophagus, which is just nonsense, when it is clearly seen that the non-load bearing block just happens to be right next to and the same size for it to have been slid in. Also the elevator theory for the chamber being lowered down via salt melting is pure genius! I have always believed that to be so before I seen your video. This not only would have provided the best security but also explains the inner wall shafts (air shafts). Please follow up on these two theories as you have solved the biggest mystery of all time.

    if you're planning a trip to the kings chamber, a hand held ultrasonic metal thickness meter could be programmed for granite (5950 mps), they are cheap, easily obtained and would be easy to sneak in, testing wouldn't cause any damage so you could see how the second doorway brick thickness compares the rest of the wall,

    Hey, what about think differently for a while. I do think, that there is possibilitty that sarcofagous was added just during building of pyramid itself. Later on, when everything if finished and pharao died, they just bring wooden coffin with much smaller dimensions and put it into stone pre-prepared sarcogaus

    At 5:12 you can clearly see the block has a different texture than the blocks around it. Also the reason the known entrance is in the corner is for maximum space for men pulling ropes, they need a long straight line. Just as in the Queens chamber, but here they have the added benefit of the sloping passage in the great hall. They had to move around heavy stones in the chamber to seal up the room. This stone may be the stone that had to be moved into place. Then the workers back out of the fake burial chamber, sealing it up as they go with the ropes. Those three blocks sealing the upper shaft were already in place so they used the "robbers tunnel" shaft and those same ropes to escape down thru the lower shaft. Then most likely pulled up by ropes from men waiting for them. Then the lower shaft was filled with debris. Then the outer casing stones put into place.

    Didn't a Japanese team discover a potential lower-density anomaly on the North wall of the Queen's Chamber as well? I think there are similar non-load-bearing blocks, too.
    With the recent news of the outer entrance corridor, with a curious step up that brings you in-line with the Queen's Chamber, it's easy to imagine a Royal Circuit as Houdin asserts. I can't wait to see what they discover.

    Some info that might relate to this subject. On page 305 of Smyths, life and work at the Great pyramid, a Mr Inglis measured the chamber wall blocks, the block in question is 42.6 inches wide. Given the coffer is 38.50 wide (Petrie), there is clearance. Incidentally, you state that the coffer can not pass through the chamber entrance, this is incorrect, as the entrance is 41.5 wide; the coffer cannot pass the junction of the AP/DP junction, which is only 38.2 wide (Petrie)
    The main difficulty could be the thick granite floor level, this varied from 42.94 to 40.65 below the first course level, the coffer having a height 41.31 (see page 28 Petries revised editon) a variation of 2.29. Petrie states that this variation is not down to the excavation under the floor as the floor is 1.5 inches higher at the undermined part than the S.E corner. Hope the above is of some help.

    Indeed, the block above the one in question could very well have served as a lintel. Interesting observation!! IF, in fact, the the sarcophagus is smaller than the width and height of the adjacent north wall block, and if the out-of-kilter orientation of the sarcophagus rwith respecto adjacent walls corresponds perfectly with the purported opening created by the lower north wall block...that would be a discovery! I'd think this evidence might be viewed as far more compelling than any geophysical data. Why? Understand, that geophysical survey detects 'anomolies,' with the anomolies detected dependent upon equipment used. One must physically investigate anomolies to achieve any degree of conclusiveness, and that's never likely to occur. Unfortunately some 9th century Arab trashed the floor between the sarcophagus and the north wall, and so we're never going to know if that floor once exhibited striations suggesting rock-on-rock scraping. However, comparing the size of rhe sarcophagus to rhe opening filled by rhe rock in question: either the sarcophagus fits or it doesn't. If it fits, and if the orienation really is precise, then we must ask, "In an edifice as precisely built as the Great Pyramid, why does the box lie angular to the north and west wall?" I can't imagine this being accidental. It should be possible to compare the angle of the sarcophagus with the angle of the east and west walls of the lower north wall stone. I'd have to study the matter to identify how this might be done but it might be possible geophysically. If so, and then if the stone's possible angular sidewalls correspond to the angle of the sarcophagus, that might just be sufficiently conclusive prompt further investigation. Such a discovery would be highly noteworthy.

    Extraordinary, and very compelling arguments. But among other questions, why did Al-Mamoun dig down under the scratched floor block in front of the suspect second entry blocking stone, rather than dig horizontally through the stone instead. He was certainly no stranger to tunneling, having created his own entrance (or perhaps exit) to the Great Pyramid in the first place.
    Thank you for your excellent work.

    • @AncientArchitects
      @AncientArchitects  5 лет назад

      Maybe because he couldn’t budge it and tunnelling into granite is sooo hard. I dunno. Maybe the thinner floor slabs were easier to lift up and the limestone below is easy to burrow through, so chose the easiest option.

    Alma Moon?? Could have pried between the coffin and the wall. Using the coffin as an anchor point. This would have shifted the coffin out of alignment. Unable to budge the wall the next logical thing to do would be to dig underneath it. I would think that the granite floor slabs would have been of a length and thickness of the ceiling slabs and this would have proved problematic to excavate.

    Looking at your model I have got an idea - what if sarcophagus isn't really a sarcophagus at all, but the door itself? It is hollow simply because in such a way it is lighter to drag, but when it is in that hole - it covers it and looks from the back like normal block in the wall. In that case it would be possible to explain, why it's corner is broken - it was dragged from that side out of the wall or maybe the corner was broken to put a hook inside to drag it out. Because of that it isn't aligned correctly because those who dragged it didn't really care about positioning it correctly within the chamber. And the hole in the wall is covered with another block later to cover up the entrance. What do you think about this idea?

    Your stuff is simply great, but my favorite thing about your approach to your videos and the passage of time and information gained is that you allow yourself to and embrace changing your mind. It's a quality that is very lacking in most researchers today, so just rest easy that it does not go unnoticed by some of us. No, the so called sarcophagus is nothing else but the plug to get in that room, it fits perfect in all dimensions measured by me back in 2016, Someone pushed it all the way to where it is and claimed to be a stupid sarcophagus! And the reason why is hollow is because it was full of fluid when the room was sealed then drained to make it lighter to move it.

    What if the corresponding stone in front of the "sarcophagus" is hollowed out exactly the same, to make it lighter to slide into place? Or maybe it's designed to be pushed into the corresponding stone, pushing it inwards until the "sarcophagus" is protruding from both sides of the suspected partition wall (assuming there's a chamber at the other side) which would leave room to climb into the "sarcophagus", right under the wall.. and exit through the top of the other side into the said hidden chamber?...
    I guess then you could call it a key-stone.

    There is no doubt in my mind that you are barking up the right tree on this. Your model of the chamber and the way things are lining up is sheer genius. No one in their right mind could offer you a counter-argument that would definitively shelve these postulations. Keep up the great work. I am here to the end. I have been studying this for a long time and I am currently writing a book of fiction that incorporates some of these structures into it. Your information is quite intriguing to say the least.

    I am someone who noticed that particular block had those possibilities. I could only wonder if anyone that was in a position to explore the possibilities, would indeed do so. I'm thrilled someone might get to actually do it. GO GO GO.
    The hydraulic system at the front of the pyramid in my opinion, was made to open the doors.

      No doubt, Mr. Hawass knows where it is... maybe they slid it down the hole in the floor that was dug out before sealing up that area beneath the floor...they probably didn't care about anything but maintaining the aesthetics of the chamber, and wanted it out of sight...? That's a really sickening thought, as it may be in a hundred little pieces in the space below the floor. They surely would not have done it with any reverence or care...plus would never have to be disclosed publically....ugh.Hope I am wrong.

    The problem I see is the wall blocks extend below the floor (it looks about 10" on your pics of the pit). So the only way to close the second door would be push the block in place from behind. However that would mean there was a 10" step up into the chamber making it impossible to push the 'sarcophagus' into the chamber by this route...unless the used 10" stone rails to push the sarcophagus through the tunnel but its starting to sound rather messy and unlikely now.

  • @ShortbusMooner

    Liking the model 👍
    On the hypothesis; Not load bearing, aligned with the sarcophagus, damage along it's edges, slightly sticking out. Enough there to pull it out ans see what behind it I'd say.
    The pyramid has been closed down for public many times during the past decades. Always with some "maintenance" excuse. Hope they missed this one but would be worth checking out. Comparing older pictures of the block (pre-1990) with present ones. See if there are clues they already had it removed at some time in the recent years.

    Two things.. If you know anything about masonry you do not leave seams almost directly on top of each other and looking at the other seams they are staggered sufficiently to create strength to support each other... So most likely all the blocks were added at a later date which is why they cracked... Also the floor was probably added later on considering its a different color altogether... Just some of my casual observations

  • @octarineflame
    @octarineflame 3 года назад

    The original block was broken up and removed when the chamber was “renovated” at the end of the 90’s as it was too large to fit through the entrance tunnel

  • @ralphbaker2850
    @ralphbaker2850 3 года назад

    I think you've got a pretty good hypothesis. It may tie in with something I've wondered about. If what they call, "The secret Main Entrance," is a main entrance, then it should of been possible to approach it from the inside once the Pyramid was entered. But no one has found a connection from the known passage ways to that entrance. If that is the opening that got the sarcophagus inside the tomb, then it must lead to the main entrance which as far as I can tell, is the only opening big enough to get it inside the pyramid to start with.

  • @rogerscottcathey

    I theorized once that the reason the corner of the tank is damaged is because it once formed the stone in the wall. It got chipped away at to get a pry hold and was slid out. Perhaps another stone slid in behind it as part of a trap door system.

    If the floor is "supported" independent of the walls then how could digging up those 3 big
    floor stones cause the second entrance wall stones to crack?

    • @AncientArchitects
      @AncientArchitects  5 лет назад +3

      Good question... they didn’t just dig down, they also dug out some of the foundation blocks under this part of the wall. So they dug a little too the north. Enough to weakening the wall.

      This was a very good question which - imo as one who was privileged enough to have private visits to many, many ancient Egyptian sites decades ago, including much of the Giza Plateau - has not had an answer which addressed the contradiction with the so-called Elevator hypothesis.
      Digging OUT - as stated in the reply given - enough to unsettle and crack granite blocks which had stood strong for 3,500 years (given a Mainstream timeline) would clearly have uncovered the straight, smooth seam between the bulk of the pyramid and the "Elevator's" outer wall!

    Another great video Matt, I am very intrigued with the thought of another entrance and of course it does make some sense. I mean how else could the sarcophagus have got there.
    I was reading about a spectacular labyrinth that was built by the Egyptians but I couldn't find out much information (probably looking in all the wrong places) have you done a video on the topic??
    Hope you don't mind me asking 😀😀 thank you Matt.
