The cable is the kind you have for an electric kettle (UK) it comes with a fitted plug. It connects into a normal wall socket. I fed it through the chimney and along the top of the ceiling covering it with pvc trunking straight into a normal wall socket. I didn't use the cable supplied as it was too short. I got a 5 metre long cable.

Thank you for purchasing our products, and we are sorry for your troubles during the installation of the cooker hood. Since the needs of each customer may be different, our power cord exposed wire length standard is 1.5M to meet the needs of most customers. If you have special needs, you need to equip yourself with a longer line.
Thank you for your feedback and wish you a happy life.

It is shame you do not explain the electrical connection. Not explaining it spoilt what was a very good video. I cut the plug off mine and connected it to a switched socket that was installed for my old cooker hood.

I used an 8mm masonry drill bit as instructed. The screws just spin inside the wall plugs. I then used a 7mm drill bit and the same thing happened. The screws supplied to me were the incorrect size for the wall plugs 😡. Also DO NOT JUST DRILL USING THE PROVIDED TEMPLATE THAT COMES WITH THE COOKER HOOD. If you do the holes will be out for the top bracket. I will have to drill a piece out of the chimney section to be able to use the power chord.

So in order to do it correctly, i need the vent hood to be at waist height. Gotcha. Cuz it's almost impossible to screw the chimney bracket in at the top of the wall near the ceiling.

Completely impossible in my case as it is so close to the ceiling - this seems to be a poor design feature. And If you don't screw it in, it will rattle like a bugger.

I have a cover over water pipes along the top of the wall, it sticks out 80mm from wall and 80mm down from the roof, So, is it OK to stop the chimney at that height, when it gets up against the cover over the pipes, 80mm below the roof, ? Thank you !

It depends on the distance between the chimney and your countertop, normally we recommend users to leave at least 650mm distance between each other. And you can also learn more details through the user manual: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0436/4310/9542/files/2022_ciarra_201_new_manual_EN-DE-FR_0218_1.pdf?v=1646191012 by page 9
