The Purple Paint Star is the best, because its Colour Restoration Scene was essentially pointless other than to mess up some stuck-up toad.

I see you havnt played the game, the giant coin first of all, is only coin, second of all, the purple paint star only fractured the green toads limbs, didn't kill him and the green paint star painted luigis go kart so we could drive up rainbow road and get to black bowsers castle.
I just love the music that plays on the world map while flying with the big paint stars and I know it is from sticker star.

This is beautiful my favorites were the Orange and Blue ones because the look on the Toads faces when the Dragadon came to life was hilarious. And I love the blue one because blue is my favorite color and the sea looked so beautiful when it was back to how it originally was, it was so satisfying to watch.

Technically the big paint star is kind of a power up. They each give Mario a permanent increase in HP after being free'd.

Can you try to paint the spots (I.e. Ocean in Violet Passage) that the corresponding Paint Star would have painted? (What I mean is try to restore color to places in the game that the corresponding paint star would have restored.)

Edith Tagocon I believe you could but you run out of paint the one I try is the mustard cafe colorless spot
I tried but I just lost all of my red and blue
I've seen a video of hacked gameplay where someone tried to do just that. It's not possible, mostly because the colorless spots are so big that you can't reach the whole thing with the paint hammer. In the case of the purple sinkhole, the game just didn't allow him to finish painting.
