Can't wait for the new Chicago album this will be featured on! This is a great tune- the chorus hook is fantastic! It's clearly got some EWF influences in it's writing and performance, but I think I even hear some EWF backing vocals in there! Anyone else hear it in there?
that's because it isn't ON any album. This is a song Jason wrote in, um, I think 2006 or 2007. 07 is what I recall. And I haven't seen it anywhere on vinyl (er, CD). Great song :) ..... I've had this in my Jason Scheff collection forever.
Had no idea Scheffy recorded this almost three years before being released by Chicago. It's a really good song, maybe a bit overdone on the album after all the extra tracks were mixed in. This is purer and catchier
Amy Collins That's what I say also!! Big way!!😀 Earth Wind and Fire is one of Jason's biggest musical influences, so that may explains the resemblance.
This is the version that should have been released. Just add horns to it and it's done. The re-record that ended up on Chicago's album is nowhere near as good.
@@themix5317 It's not. The track is totally redone on Chicago's album and it's leaden. This version is so much better. Not even sure how you'd add horns but I'm sure Pankow could have figured it out.
Gotcha! I prefer Danny's playing and feel any day. Just interesting to know that this whole track on Chicago's version is actually Jason's version here but with Chicago's vocals dubbed in and Keith on the guitar solo. That's it.
Thank you, never heard this version before. I've only heard the one from Chicago.
One of the best songs Jason has ever released...Just Stunning!
What originality! Jaon's bass playing is breath taking, creating sophisticated worldly-wise new ideas; a very productive experience.
Ran into this song by accident,,what a nice surprise,,Great tune!! I didn't know he put out songs himself,,,way to go Jason!!
Never heard of CHAUNCY? His solo CD he did in 1997. Awesome songs on it.
Wow sounds great.... Go Jason....

Great spot Lincoln. Sure its EWF :)
done live is fantastic- chicago never disappoints
I am so happy you posted this song. I think it's my favorite Jason Scheff song.

Hi Janie, it was wonderful reading that you have a collection of Jason's songs. What a great feeling to hear that. Many thanks, Linda R.
Please Jason. You must create a cover album with the great song you are lead vocal on. Its just great voice and catchy funky. Thanks you groove

Kinda better than the Chicago version!
on the convention gift disc from the Orleans 2007, I recall JS worked them up for the people, greeted, and signed them by the hundreds....
even the guitar solo grooves....u guys are correct....this version so much more funky
This song is awesome, love Jason scheff ,
Verdine White from Earth Wind and Fire actually recorded the bass line on the "Now " album.

He's on FB LIVE once in a while. And he did great with Periscope in 2015/2016.

Seems like that is what they did.
Wow,nice angelic voice,

This version is by far better than Chicago’s.
Jason's versions blows the new one on Chicago's record away. Doesn't have the feel his original did. Way to screw up the groove Tris.
Tris did not play on the track on Chicago's version.
+Tom Snyder still dont like the groove on chicago's album. Cant stand tris' drumming either
