Unreal 5 would just overall improve the game and I'm willing to wait for a couple years if it's needed. Because in the end this is going to be a masterpiece and I think we all would love to wait for the best game ever rather then a half done game early.
One thing that stood out to me about the game was how fast moving the laser (lets call it) arms are. In the film, they never moved as freely and fast as that. Keeping it steady with slow movements creates more weight to it and realism to it. But that's just my thoughts.
My biggest worry is definitely the game being released unpolished and seemingly rushed. The idea of waiting a whole extra year or even 2 isn't fun but I think most people understand what a major improvement Unreal 5 would be, that engine is mad lol
Honestly just switch to unreal, I never really expected the game to actually come out this year and going off the gameplay footage it NEEDS a performance boost. Also the "movie accurate tripod" idea is gonna get the game a copywrite claim.
I think that it's ultimately unnecessary to switch to Unreal. While there are a lot of benefits that could definitely be done to the game, it isn't just as easy as importing all the work into a new engine. Everything that has been done so far will likely need to be built from the ground up. Like.. It's not something to be taken lightly. Everything except the assets will need to be redone. Rebuild the world space, the AI, the tentacle probe, the red weed.... We're talking about starting over from scratch besides the models and sounds. Even with all of that aside, I am hating this industry wide centralization on the Unreal Engine. This is going to lead to a natural monopoly that will decrease the versatility of game developers. Alongside that, this will be directly supporting Epic Games and the CCP who own a stake in it. If Raff switches to unreal, we're not talking 1-3 months, but 1-2 *years*. While I am always for devs taking more time to perfect their game, I don't like this industry wide rush to dump all of their projects in their own engines to rush into Unreal.
Yeah you're exactly right, but if most of the community wants to swap and the end product is going to be of a higher quality then it should be worth it, hopefully it doesn't take 1-2 years but time will tell
@@Uberkit I think you both are absolutely right, I absolutely would not mind Unreal engine, but I do mind a extended wait time. I’ve been waiting for years for a game and there finally making one!
Regards Copyright from Paramount RAF did say he'd enquire on a license so he'd be able to use the models or instead make a mod for the game of the 2005 Tripod. He also did announce he's planning on HDRP on Unity mainly because he doesn't really have much experience using Unreal engine, honestly imo its fine because although the graphics aren't identical their both very similar in aspects and I'm guessing it could potentially speed up the project, the game looks absolutely stunning.
In my personal opinion I think he should switch it over to unreal 5 and I don't mind that it delays the game because you can add A h*** of a lot more to the game
This might be a hot take, but I think the whole tripod redo was a waste of time. They had already looked incredible and faithful to the movie prior to the overhaul. Throughout the past 2 months of silence from the devs, I hoped they were focusing their efforts on effects, animations, mechanics and optimization. When I learned they've spent these 2 months basically just redoing the Tripod models (which were already incredible enough and, truth be told, I can barely see any difference anyway), I was really dissapointed, almost furious even. I'm all for delaying the game if it needs polish, but for God's sake, use the additional time for actually worthwhile improvements. Let's be honest - this game will release as an Early Access anyway, so these kind of additions can be made when people have already spent some time with the game. These kind of decisions just delay the game endlessly and for no worthwhile reason.
He will do it's just he wants to show changes that look polished, a lot of the stuff he's working on right now won't be noticeable to us so there's not a lot to show
in the movie there is a scene were a plane crashed, I feel like there should be a event somewhere on the map to were when your in that area, a plane will come crashing down.
Hey, these developpers have mad an insane work. But unfortunately, Unity engine isn't made for insane graphics.. Unreal Engine 5 would be an INSANE improvement in visual and everything! But as someone said in the comments, everything has to be remade from the beginning. But i would DEFINITELY WAIT 2 years if I have to, it's one of my favorite film, if not my favorite, and always dreamed of a game inspired by the film! I don't want to see the game released too early and be disapointed because it was "rushed", and visually old looking (not talking about the tripod, they look magnificent, the probs also!). So in my opinion they should "switch" to UE5, don't care about waiting!
I might be for the best even though I know its gonna break me to wait even longer but I chose Unreal 5. I really hope that in the end we eventually get to play this amazing creation at its peak potential when it is good and ready to release.
Man I’m kinda sad it won’t come to console Xbox I really am but the game is still amazing and unreal engine is the right thing to do! For the game it’ll make it so much better and will take so much longer..but at least we knows it’s happening and it’s coming
My Vote is to change over to Unreal Engine 5 if we all want that extra stuff but for also the game to run smoothly and also look amazing at the same time... I don't mind waiting as I'm a patient Man.
Hey @kit im working on my war of the worlds game too do you think once i have it working and stuff you will check it rn I'm making models of the tripods but i think Rafs will be 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better then mine lol
@Kit OK Kit just to update you on whats going on... I've just watched VoidBoi's Q&A Video with Raf and his team and I've just heard Raf saying that he will not be changing the game over to Unreal Engine 5 because he said doing that it means they have to start from scratch, and he also said that he is happy with working the game and keeping it on Unity HDRP cause he said there is still a whole lot you can do with Unity also and the game will still look great... so saying that I don't see any point in doing this vote thing you wanna do to whether stay in Unity or change over to Unreal 5, cause Raf was adamant that he's staying with Unity.
@Kit Ahh ok... well that just seems odd cause he specifically said on VoidBoi's Q&A that he wasn't gonna change over to Unreal 5 and staying on Unity so I find it a bit odd that he's saying two different things... oh well it's upto him at the end of the day it's his game.
unity because if the game takes too long witch, it will if it gets switched than people might just not want the game anymore and move on because they don't want to wait that long if you know what I mean.
Yeah it's a tough choice, I'm quite patient but I understand that for some people that have been following since day 1 of development it's dragging on somewhat
Do you think the game should switch to unreal engine 5 or stay on Unity? Vote below!
Unreal Engine 5
Stay on unity
Unreal has more possibilities
Unreal 5 would just overall improve the game and I'm willing to wait for a couple years if it's needed. Because in the end this is going to be a masterpiece and I think we all would love to wait for the best game ever rather then a half done game early.
Unreal Engine 5. Sure I really don’t want to wait till next year since this my dream game. But I believe this will be well worth the wait!
Imagine how much more scarier the game will be with the newer tripod models..
One thing that stood out to me about the game was how fast moving the laser (lets call it) arms are. In the film, they never moved as freely and fast as that. Keeping it steady with slow movements creates more weight to it and realism to it. But that's just my thoughts.
very true!

Yeah I think the wait is worth it for the much better product we get
Honestly just switch to unreal, I never really expected the game to actually come out this year and going off the gameplay footage it NEEDS a performance boost. Also the "movie accurate tripod" idea is gonna get the game a copywrite claim.
I mean if you take a look at Call of Duty cold war and how much storage space it actually takes up.... He could add a lot
Tripod headlights looks sick
Heck Yeah
ikr is so cool!

quality is key in games like this i can wait another year aslong as they make updates every once and a while to unreal engine 5

My only worry is Paramount striking this down
Thank you for the updates. Also, my vote on Unreal Engine 5.
In my personal opinion I think he should switch it over to unreal 5 and I don't mind that it delays the game because you can add A h*** of a lot more to the game
Yeah the delayed release is worth it in the long run
if paramount takes this down im litteraly going to riot

Wow they look amazing they definitely feel real to the movie I can’t imagine that coming out of the water in the ferry scene…
of course its worth it the tripod is just too good
agree 100%!

I think you're right in that, regardless of the decision, we're not gonna see the full game in 2023. Thanks for the shoutout man!
It's looking highly unlikely now yeah.
No problem bro
I’M GETTING SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait oooooh! Maybe we get a tripod gameplay teaser?
They need to add black smoke.
It wasn't in the movie though and the game is based on the movie so there won't be black smoke

Until the possible release, if Paramount doesn't kill this project, I'll scratch that TWotW itch by buying the 3rd 2000AD comic of the kinda sequel
1:46 mobile gaming LMAO LOL XD
Will there be RTX shaders for this game? and will the NPCs be smarter?
Doubt there will be RTX shaders but you never know. NPCs will be getting pretty smart yeah
One question well there be full controller support?
I can't wait to play this! I always loved War Of The Worlds

Yeah we'll get a much better game in the end
@@Uberkit Indeed so if you can? let Raf know my vote will ya? Thanks Kit. 😎👍
I've waited for a new Battlefront game or Half Life game, I'm like the definition of patience.
I honestly don’t know how I feel I like UE though
Thanks for giving my comment a heart ❤️
I hope you get to play as a tripod and conquer the world
Could you play as the tripods in the game? That would be awesome.
Deleing It Is Just ridiculus like, for God sake i wanna play this before i get old
RAF Just foregot about copyright
Deleing It feels Just too Much
