ok ok.... but what about some info about the actual BOARD? bounce outs? darts used? recommended weight? recommended soft tips? I am using 18g soft darts and not every board takes them well.
Fair enough. I talk about BOARD build quality at 2:13. Bounce outs are pretty subjective. They happen. I think if I mounted the BOARD directly to the wall instead of the portable puck mounting system I'd have less bounce outs. I talk about darts that the BOARD comes with at 2:31. I upgraded to Target Echo (13s) which you see at :41 and 1:07. These are 18 grams. You could go 20 grams but I don't think I'd recommend it. I use Fit Point Plus tips. Does that help? If you'd like a separate video of all the things around the BOARD I can whip something up. Thanks for watching!
@@brewerjason Thank you so much for the detailed answer. Yes, I think these boards interest a lot of people, but not many channels are talking about the details and long-term use. Nice channel! BTW I just purchased a grandboard dash.
Great video, Just got my Dash yesterday instead it this morning. So still learning the setups and software learning. Bottom line love it. Have not tried online yet. Soon to do.
Thanks for watching! I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I have. Wish I had gotten one sooner! hahah Send me over a friend request. I'll play anytime.
So after a year, is it still treating you well? I have a friend who said her dash model had connectivity issues. She upgraded to the 3s. I like the price point of the dash, but I don't want to deal with silly issues. Thanks, good video!
Still works great! App software got an update a while back. I think it's an improvement. Still seems to have a "healthy" online following. Hardware has held up. Although I don't play as much as I used to. Don't think I've had a single tip break off in the board. Thanks for watching! Really appreciate the comment!
I'm pretty sure the mounting bracket is meant to attach the board to a stand, not the wall, as evident by the wobbling I see there. The board itself has 3 holes for mounting.
Thanks for watching Gabe! Yeah. I originally didn't want to leave the board up all the time. I was going to take it down and put back up the poster over the mounting bracket. Definitely has some wobble. But good enough to sacrifice a more permanent solution.
Bounce outs are definitely an adjustment coming from steel tips. But there are a lot of factors to consider when talking about bounce outs... dart weight, throwing power, type of tip, and throwing motion/angle. I haven't had many examples of a soft tip bouncing out and the board not registering a hit. But in the case that does happen, usually will just talk with the opponent about if they want to do a rethrow or count it as a 0. I would still recommend this board. Coming from steel tips this could be a great practice tool without having to do all the math and worry about a hole in your wall or floor. Thanks for watching! Happy throwing!
I just got my GranBoard Dash a couple of days ago and mounted it today. From the product page, it's supposed to be able to register outs, but I can't seem to get the outs sensor to work... Does it work for you? If so, what settings do you have in the app?
@@brewerjason Hm, strange.. on their official website they state that it "Registers darts that hit the outer scoring area of the board." and it even has the option in the app. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any more info out there related to this. Thanks for your reply though :)
@@brewerjason thank you I finally ordered the gran 3s board. I also ordered 3 viper 20g darts and 3 viper 18gr darts. Do you think the 20g will be to heavy for this board? With the bristle board that I have when we play we kindda throw soft since steel tip darts stick pretty good. Don't know how we will be throwing with the plastic board
@@brewerjason iam building a cabinet to box the gran 3s board. Will it be a good idea to use home depot foam cover with pool table felt to protect the darts from maybe bending or breaking when missing dart board? Right now I have that foam with pool table felt behind my bristle dartboard and it works very good and also looks good. However I don't know if I will be needing this for the soft tip darts?
@@futbol1972 I've got a set of Target 18g darts. I have good days and bad days with bounce outs. Definitely not as fun as cork in that regard. Let me know how they do!
@@futbol1972 I think the foam will be overkill. I've broken maybe 4 tips since I've gotten the board. You can snag a pack of Fit Point Plus dart tips on Amazon for like $8.
Now you realize why I was obsessing over a new dartboard. I'm telling you, it combines tech and an old "sport" perfectly! Hey! Thanks! I got it from The Shop in Broad Ripple. theshopindy.com/collections/drink-apparel
Can we name the name of the players on the app?? Also if 6 of us are playing at home will I be able to see the names display on the tablet screen? Up to how many players can play on this gran boars 3s at the same time?
Hey Noe. I'm not sure. I doubt it. You have to scan a code on the back of the board to pair it with the app. I believe the app is for Apple iOS and Android.
Well... I haven't played in a while! No fault of the board. Just other hobbies and interests. It's warmer here in Indiana so I've been playing more golf haha Do you play?
This video convinced me to get this board over the DartsLive Home board. Seems like there’s a larger online community.
Glad I could help! Happy throwing!

Do you know what country it is manufactured in? I have seen Japan but idk if that is accurate? Kind regards

Steel dart player, but this board and system looks tempting.. how are those bounce outs on this board?

Mine definitely does not have the ability to register outs. Anything in the black outer section does not register.

When I play I noticed that if you're throwing 20g dart it doesn't land on the board
For sure. The heavier darts the more bounce-outs.
How is a bristle board impractical??
I have all hardwood floors. It would only take one drop of a hard tip to ruin my whole week. haha
@brewerjason I see. My walls are absolutely obliterated lol. I plan on painting them soon and getting a backboard.
Iam still deciding between the gran 3s and the darslive 200s🙄??
Both are awesome. I think the app is better for GranBoard. More games. I think you can only play 701 and cricket online with DartsLive.

Does this darts say how much you throw
What do you mean by how much? It will keep score for you with statistics if you use an iPad or tablet. It doesn't not have a screen or display.
Do you still use this? If so how’s it holding up? Still worth the money?
Still play a ton! They're working on an updated app that I Beta tested. Still highly recommend it.

I also really like the LED one but didn't have an electrical plug where I wanted to put the board. So batteries it is. haha

soft tip darts STILL put hole sin walls....
Sure. Can. I worried more about steel tips bouncing out or dropping on my hardwood floors. Just about balancing risk and reward. Thanks for watching.
