I follow several narrowboat channels. Most are consistently excellent. However this is the only one that makes me smile throughout the duration of each video. I'm not entirely sure why, but I don't care. I just follow it to wherever it leads every time.
Now then Dave I am sat here Keeping my dying dog company but I find it so relaxing watching you on your boat in all weathers so thank you for keeping me company.
Thank you, Dave, for another great episode. I absolutely love your brilliant closeups of wildlife. Such beautiful colours. All the flowers and trees, etc, are so wonderful.
I am from Canada in Ontario and I am so glad I found your RUclips channel, it is the Best, I found you from the Boat tour someone else did your lovely home and I was so glad at the End you told us you have a RUclips also that I can follow you on. Thank you from Debra
How wonderful you and others were able to help him. Hopefully someone had a dehumidifier for him and some fans. How very scary and difficult but at least the boat was saved.
Jeez, Dave! You've got some serious skills with that boat of yours! That marina seems to be really tight! I'm so glad you managed without a scratch! It was lovely to see all the other boats for a change, love the names and the colours. And I'm glad Emily is up and floating again, boat owners' worst nightmare.
The beauty of these wild birds and deer are so amazing to see Dave it’s thanks to you for letting us all to see them, sorry to hear about your friends boat that was sinking 👍
Thank you for the uplifting glimpses you give us into the natural world back home in the UK (I'm living in tropical Indonesia at the moment, so a very different landscape). There's joy to be found in nature everywhere. I read today about Chris Packham joining a 'fight for nature' gathering to bring awareness to the loss of biodiversity in the UK. It seems "43% of UK bird species are in decline and 97% of wildflower meadows have disappeared since the second world war". The news is relentlessly sad, so I cling to the more uplifting stories I watch from nature aficionados like you and Vanessa of The Mindful Narrowboat. I've been living on a sailboat for 20 years so have first hand experience of plastic pollution and coral decline. But there are also fantastic efforts to clean up the coasts and plant coral gardens. Just like on land, the ability nature has to spring back is astounding. "I like it when a flower or a little tuft of grass grows through a crack in the concrete. It's so f****n' heroic." George Carlin 🙏
Thank you for sharing your world. The wildlife is beautiful. So relieved to hear that the narrowboat was saved thanks to the help of everyone who came to the rescue. I look forward to seeing more of your journeys as the Spring and Summer reveal themselves to us...
Hi Dave hope all is good with you, thanks for sharing. I always seems to watch you when i need to escape from the day to day routine, general on a friday evening. Really helps me take my mind off any worries 🙏
Hi Dave another relaxing video, helping a mate out on his sinking narrowboat, that's what life is all about is helping one another on the canal, I am all for that mate. Well done ❤. Seeing all all your wildlife fox etc" I enjoyed very much, oh and the bluebells , I didn't know the butterflies the name of them. Thank you for sharing this with me. Take care Dave until next time X X X ❤
hey Dave, love your films, gives rise to memories of living amongst the trees for several years, no 4 walls...every day amongst my friends, that is the wild creatures, every day something different, going to sleep with the owls and nightjars. Keep on keeping on and stay within natures fold, she s the greatest and most beautiful.
I tuoi video sono bellissimi. Questo porto turistico lo hai reso molto bene. Ti ringrazio e ci vediamo al prossimo video che riesco a guardare! Abbraccio
Hi Dave: I haven't been by your channel for a while, but I am so glad that I came by today! Your photography, dialogue, and choice of music provide a sense of immersion which is, for me, both unique and exquisite. On a practical note, I watch a couple of channels featuring various boats, and something that I have been wondering about canal boats which tend to be quite long, would it not be practical to consider installing some sort of bowthruster? It could be driven electrically, and lowered/raised as required? It might help with manoeuvring in tight spots? They have them on some yachts, so might be an idea for a canal boat too? Anyway, thanks for a wonderful video. I enjoyed it very much.
Welcome back! Not sure if you're subscribed? And if you hit the bell button, it will notify you when I upload a new episode. Thanks for tuning back into my channel

Another lovely video Dave. As usual, it's beautifully shot. Thank you. The boat handling obviously gets a bit tricky at times; but you do a terrific job...and what great team work on your friend's sinking boat! Well done.
Complimenti per la guida con la barca, e' come un bus, sai cosa ho notato nei tuoi video e' che gli animali sembra che ti aspettino , ti salutano. Siete in tanti a vivere in quelle barche, il posto dove vivi e' bellissimo. Buon proseguo. Ciao

Another beautiful video! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us. I laughed so much when said “Iron Maiden “ hahaha. I love Iron Maiden but I love calm and quiet in nature. Glad all was peaceful. Great job steering! What a beautiful sunset. Hope you’re having fun decorating and feeling better. Please take care of yourself. Sending you love and gratitude from California 🥰
Beautiful as always, thank you, very glad your friends boat was ok, it looked quite a job getting the water out. I hope you are enjoying some slightly drier weather this weekend ☀️🌱💖
Amazing videography. I'm a mechanic, so I know nothing about this, but I also watch a lot of RUclips and this is not just expensive cameras. This is a talent that I haven't seen matched.
Hi, this is what we think possibly happened. there had been heavy, torrential rain and it had leaked in around the weed and engine bay hatch. The drain holes to send water back out in to the canal couldn't cope with the amount of rain fall. That then spilled over into the boat. At some point engine exhaust hole out side the boat went under. Then the canal water just flooded the boat. Then it started going in the rear doors. It was then jazz spotted his boat was sinking. The mooring side of the boat was resting on the bottom of the canal and listing into deeper water. We slowed a passing boat down so as not to pull the boat further into the canal, which could have been a bigger problem in rescuing it.
@inspiredbynature3 crikey... our weather has a lot to answer for.. I'm really glad all went well in the end. Great videos, and I look forward to seeing more.
Hi David. Thanks for tuning into my channel and watching this episode. Yes, I'm a solo liveaboard. But I'm never alone 😃 especially with being surrounded by nature and the friendly boating community. Hope you enjoy many of my previous and future vlogs. Dave
Question: do you stay on one canal coasting up and down or to you change over to other canals? That marina entrance looks 🙈 How about exiting backwards? 🤔 I follow you from Cyprus, btw. 😊
Hi, thanks for watching my channel. I cruise on two canals. On my boat its more difficult in reverse. Some more modern boats have bow thrusters to help steer.
Hi, thanks for watching 🙏 to be honest, I'm not sure on costs, as I'm a continuous cruiser and just pay for my cruising licence, just over one thousand pounds. I do know it's on the length of your boat. But you also still have to pay a licence fee to the canal and river trust and its about to go up a lot! I think folk pay maybe two to three thousand per year. Maybe someone might comment on here the cost. Like I say, I'm not sure. Dave
