Really want to get back to playing a GM again soon and this is a beauty. Shame my skill just can’t justify the price tag. Still have fond memories of the GM maestro I played in school.
Looks a ripper Marc, GM have always been quality and quite underrated in my opinion. The kids in particular have always wanted Kooka, Gray Nicholls and now New Balance.
I have the chroma (last seasons) Devon Conway players edition and while doing my “research” in purchasing that bat, I found that pretty much every GM players edition bat has between 7-9 grains these days for some reason, so I’d say they are switching their standards when it comes to players willow from the best looking more towards the best performing… I’m very happy with my purchase as the ping is unreal, but for the price they are selling these things, it should be an all round piece of willow. P.S if you are looking for value, then you can’t beat the U.S online stores, I got the Conway for just over $900nzd delivered
Wow that’s a bargain. Great tip. Agree on the performance. Not one GM PE I have reviewed has been a horrible pickup or dud pinger, that said wouldn’t a standard Original be the same?
@@CricketBatInfo yea the L.E’S and even some originals I’ve seen on the shelf here in nz are pretty much the same looking as mine, but they cost more here than the players edition did from overseas, so it was a no brainer for me, in saying that, not sure how they perform as I’ve never tried one but I can attest that the one I got is a real banger… they are definitely concentrating on ping over looks because when asking for photos of individual bats, there were Some absolute horrendous looking one with knots, heartwood and marks all over the face, so I can only imagine quality control deemed them belters to put the players name on them
Rough looking PE looks more G2 and seen better looking signature models. Shape is lovely and no doubt performance will be great as they certainly press the PE bats differently to the stock range even LE down
I believe if you buy from outside the UK, they remove the tax from the product/bat and you'd only pay your import fees if you have any. Lifelong GM user, never had any complaints QC has always been excellent, the pressing is definitely firmer, so it feels "harder" when playing.
I'm pretty sure that 55 is his player number. Like you, I'm not a fan of the stickers at all and much prefer the previous diamond stickers. I could never buy one of these bats, apart from being wasted on me, at that price I'd become so picky about looks and specs, which I never am with bats in my price range. Did this have a pick up index number provided by GM?
Yep in the right hands. I’m afraid a few lower grade amateurs will be blowing out the toe or seeing handle issues on this bat shape. Low tolerance for sustained mis hitting
I think you’re right about the willow growing conditions the really top notch willow is a lot more scarce I’ve heard, hence the batmakers are still pumping out the pe’s with inferior willow. Don’t get me wrong really nice bat but massively overpriced and thinning the shoulders and toe along with narrowing are tricks that are employed to get the required specs, I’ve had an actual Ben stokes bat in my hands and the shape was different to the retail stokes bat, a lot more wood up the blade
Thanks For the feedback Liam. That’s really disappointing to hear especially since A) i have filmed these bats already so I cannot add to the next video and B) GM has stated on public record these are an exact Replica. I’d hate to think punters are getting slugged a fair whack more for a fancy case and a bit of laser etching.
2nd viewing of both Craig’s lovely bats. And the devils advocate in me wonders how can we be sure the players really use a GM, Kook, GN etc bat and not sticker up an independent brand? Like Keeley or Rob Pack 🤔
Good luck, but if you think you entered the contest to win the HR Sports bat. Your on the wrong video and didn’t listen to the entry conditions on that video.
I can't believe I'm saying this it looks like SS and SG are making much much much better bats than the UK and Aus brands like Kookaburra and GM ... only Gray Nicolls are still making quality bats ... Look at this GM bat the profile is sooooo thin and the toe looks like it'll break if it even touches the ground LOL ... the bat looks feeble
Well unlike SG and SS A) they’re built to last with 10+% moisture still left in the bat B) they are traditionally pressed not lightly pressed to look bigger. C) they are properly made. No nails in the handles. D) they are not narrowed to make the edged look bigger. I reviewed the top of the line from both SS and SG and they were narrowed badly. I had a Stokes and sold it wasn’t for me. Pricing on SS are now not much cheaper.
Nice Sunday night viewing. Makes me want to tap up my bat and annoy the Mrs. Well done Marc… keep em coming🤘🏼
Glad I'm not the only one who likes having a tap and has a mrs that cracks it when I do 😂
Bahahaha. Doooooo it.
My wife is the same about bat tap ups and video editing. I once smashed 2 of 3 ornaments on the display shelf with a accidental ball bounce mishap.
As I get older and grumpier I realise how much fun it was to own GM, DF & SS bats of my era.. glad you're back in the nets mate. Take care Marc.
Thanks Paul. Bowlers are glad too….but not for much longer

Understand
One of the best bat i own, Ping on the bat is unreal. Took a little while for the bat to reach its peak performance but it’s a gun to play with.
Looks a ripper Marc, GM have always been quality and quite underrated in my opinion. The kids in particular have always wanted Kooka, Gray Nicholls and now New Balance.
It's that power of a sponsored player. I can imagine GM did well after Ben's past World Cup heroics. Class
yet again another outstanding vid love them, please dont stop making them
Appreciate your support Richard. Hopefully see you in the chat when do the live stream.
Richard, you won the 10k bat and gloves. Please contact me on Facebook, Instagram or twitter
Nice bat and great review as always!
Thanks for the feedback 👍
amazing review as always
Thanks mate. Appreciate your feedback.
Great video !
@Marc, 55 is his Stokes' jersey number in limited-overs cricket! :D
Cheers, I thought it was something like that.

Grading isn't all about aesthetic quality but possibly GM grade based on performance? I know which grading system I'd prefer.
Lots of grades and lots of price points. I bet i have owned as many as most. Had 909 planks and 606 beasts….difference was not performance
Rough looking PE looks more G2 and seen better looking signature models. Shape is lovely and no doubt performance will be great as they certainly press the PE bats differently to the stock range even LE down
I wouldn’t say G2, but I’d feel a bit flay if i spent the money on it

Yep 20% VAT comes off. I tend not to talk about that as the audience is worldwide and many UK based. Great Point.

No tag in the box but based on my experience it's a 1 or 2.
I prefer last seasons decals over these new ones...a nice full bat & a cannon in the right hands I'd imagine.
Yep in the right hands. I’m afraid a few lower grade amateurs will be blowing out the toe or seeing handle issues on this bat shape. Low tolerance for sustained mis hitting
55 is referring to ben stokes' jersey number
Yep that’s been answered. Thanks for watching the video

@@CricketBatInfo let’s not bring too much attention to that case 🙈

By just buying bats that actually suit you.
love the videos
Thanks mate
Do you review hs octa core bat?
Only have ever reviewed one HS. HS 41 Babar Azam Signature - Are they really fully knocked?

Toe looks really thin.
Appreciate if you keep no background music when you are tapping it with the mallet.
Thanks for the feedback but its already lowered and the tap up sound unprocessed.
I am a your subscriber. Wish me luck from France
Good luck, but if you think you entered the contest to win the HR Sports bat. Your on the wrong video and didn’t listen to the entry conditions on that video.
55 is his playing number mate
Yep, though that was the likely case. Too young the be born in 1955.
55 is his ODI squad number.
Cheers
55 is bens shirt number for England
Thanks Ollie.
55 is ben stokes jersey no 🙃
A lot of second hand Stokes bats have damaged toes and shoulders.
I’m not surprised. Many need a 4x2 with a handle
