To Dr. Maria A. Ressa, I am a public high school teacher teaching social sciences who avidly listening (watching the videos in fact) in all of your talks or speeches, and also reading your written works (in all forms and platforms). I hope one day I could meet you in the flesh may it be for a simple photo ops, or for a short conversation, or attend to one of your public talks, speeches or lectures to listen and learn.🙏😊😍 God bless you Ma'am Ressa!❤

"Silence is complicity" - Dr. Maria Ressa That should reverberate inside the minds of other members of the Philippine media. Very few in PH media can really ask the hard questions. Why? Is it cowardice or commercial interests? Either way, the silence of many Filipinos is complicity but when mainstream media is silent, that is treason.
Dr. Maria Ressa reminds me of my father who values DIGNITY as a human being. My father said this words of wisdom i never forgot " KAHIT SINGKONG SUKLI IBABALIK MO." Since then, i took that wisdom as part of my everyday lives. Always remembering " MONEY is the root of all evil." Even CROOKED LEADERS are after the MONEY they wanted to steal from the people they governed.
Well-deserved recognition from an institution of learning well- known for its consistent stand on democracy. Very tough & courageous award to a brilliant journalist internationally known for her unwavering fight for freedom & human rights in our country. We're all proud of her.
One of the women i admire to hear their speeches,Hillary Clinton,Nancy Pelosi, and Taylor Swift, and Dr.Maria Reeza, her speeches in some universities in USA, her speech at Nobel Prize evening here in Norway.I didnt met her because I was on duty, but I followed her case in the media. She can be best foreign secretary in our country with the right government. She is so brilliant and articulate, the Filipino pride,a woman of substance.

Congratulations Ms. Ressa! I find it interesting that Ateneo, one of the best colleges in the Philippines, the speakers at the commencement don't even speak in English! No wonder Filipinos have a problem with communicating in English, especially with foreigners, because they don't use the English language as they should! But they have to brag, "I have a college degree from Ateneo, San Beda, etc.", and yet they can only speak Tagalog and basic English words! Ms. Ressa, a Filipino, is one of the few Filipinos I know who can go "toe-to-toe" with an English-speaking foreigner when it comes to speaking and communicating in the English language! So it doesn't come as a surprise to me that many Filipinos (with college degrees from the best universities in the Philippines) have an "English" language problem when they go to a foreign country (U.S., especially). Many college graduate Filipinos have a problem not only in speaking English but in communicating in English as well - i.e., they have very limited ENGLISH VOCABULARY! And this can be explained that in their professional life and work environment, speaking English is not required. Other Asian countries, though they use their "native" language like the Philippines, have to learn the English language, speak the English language as they have to deal with foreign investors, businesses and tourists.
😢So now, here is a convict found guilty by a court of justice of violating the law on cyber crime being recognized and put on a pedestal. The decision is of course on appeal. Well??
Either the Court about to hear the remaining cyber crime case will find it easy to acquit her because of who she is and what she represented all these tumultuous years. Or the Court will find it much easier to acquit her because the old arrogant leader, who abused his power, is gone, and the whole world has never stopped watching!

How to bring down her message to multitude of social-marginals. Very elitist talk. Speak from, and to, the heart of non-English speaking masses. Almost a monologue, or just an academical gobbledygook. Sayang.
