Just goes to show that 8 years later and drones really haven’t improved much ….. superb footage 👍👍

congrats on the "squatch" catch! had no idea "they" were there also!
WOW You rocked that! my hat is off to you.
Nice video! You shot the last mountain from the same dead end road I did with the Solo last year. Loved it
+Jayden Lawson haha classic. They make it hard to get close to that thing.
+ZEROGRAVITY Yeah :) had a good chat to the locals. Apparently a few drone pilots end up on that dead-end road :)
Awesome timelapse 0:55
Beautiful! Im also a proud owner of the 3dr brilliant piece of machinery
+InsanitiFPV Thanks for watching! Hell yeah it is. Best part is, the tech will only get better over the years. Happy days ahead!

Amazing, to get this footage from such devices gives amateurs like me inspiration :-0)
super well done. So no pro-tune? You must have some great natural light there
Great footage!!!
+Brad Tobler Thanks for watching!
Great work ! This has to be the best 3DR Solo footage with a GoPro 4 I have seen. Are you using the stock lens with the GoPro 4 Silver?

WOW AMAZIIING !! So beautiful !
How you do the timelapse on solo ? there's no option on the apps right ?
I want to try it too on my solo
+Art Tree Studio Thanks for the comment, appreciate the kind words! We actually did the timelapses just on the GoPro not the solo. I have tried with the Solo but haven't had much luck. It would be awesome if they came up with a smart shot for it.
This is awesome good job
Many thanks!
Very cool. Nice piloting. Some were done with smart shots? Just got my Solo so I'm taking notes lol. 👍🏼
Beautiful video....
+Henrik Jensen Thanks Henrik! Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching :)

+kadek sudarwika Thanks for watching :) Glad you liked it!
Well done mate. Nice shots. Are you recording in 4k?
Danke schön für alles. .
Stunning Work Guy's! You could give up the day job, if you wanted!!!
+Aubrey Martin Thanks :) it would be the ideal scenario!
Awesome!
Thanks Duc :)
Nice Footage men... I shot a 3DR completely sealed 'bout a week ago. I guess you needed the Gimbal for this... some footage look like you didn't use one?! Or maybe you took 4K on a Hero4 BLACK and and put it back in Full HD in the post. Maybe you can give me some information here. all the best from GER/ Dresden.
Great!
Epic!
Cheers Larry!
I've only just started making and posting videos shot with my 3DR Solo... your videos are absolutely stunning and an inspiration. This one especially. I'm curious on a 3DR Pilot perspective, did you do anything advanced to stabilize.. just prop balancing? gimbal work? Mine are pretty smooth but yours are butter.. thanks for any help!
wow! just wow!
congratulations, friend... very nice
come check my Solo 3DR video, it flew 40,000 foot. No mods or Gimbal.
Great video. Some really good shots in there. What was your GoPro settings on the drone. Did you use wide angle for all shots?
+Anthony Bryant Photography Cheers Anthony! Yes, wide angle was used for all shots :)
Amazing...
+Peter Kaszubski Thanks Peter!
Greetings friend you have a great shoot I would like to know what the configuration you used? 3DR SOLOGopro ?
so beautif.
nice mate
ha crazy, I've been wanting to shoot at those falls in springbrook for ages and thats the first thing you see in your vid haha. nice bro. Hows the 3DR Solo going for you? I'm close to buying but theres so many bad reviews :(
+James Morris Thanks for watching man! It is an awesome spot. The solo has been relatively good for me so far but the biggest issues I have had are with gimbal stabilisation and GPS connection. On occasion, even when there is no wind the gimbal will be shaky when moving in certain directions. This can be annoying depending on how bad it is, when it happens you will have to run the footage through any decent editing software to stabilise it. It sounds like you are planning on taking the drone out to fairly remote locations which I did also, you will find that the drone loses GPS connection quite frequently (especially near mountains, gorges or anything with high walls/trees surrounding it). When it does it literally flies off in any direction, it has almost taken me out or crashed into a wall/tree several times so if you aren't quick on the controls it will go black hawk down. As you would know DJI offers complete drone, camera and gimbal packages out of the box (solo does not) for less money, with superior stabilisation and GPS systems and which now include the smart shots that the solo touted as an advantage. I know this reply is longer than the lord of the rings but I want to give you an honest answer, go DJI for now. The solo will be more competitive once the bugs are fixed in later models.
Great video, how did u avoid the fish eye affect from video ?
+Fashion Mogul Thanks for watching! You will notice the fisheye is slightly visible in some shots if you look very closely. For me It tends to happen most when panning up or down or if I shoot with the gopro facing directly downwards. You can remove fisheye in studio (or other software) but this has the potential to crop out important parts of your frame. I would suggest shooting in Medium or Narrow modes to avoid this problem as the focal length of the gopro in these modes is still wide enough for most situations you will come across. Hope that answers your question :)
awesome video man. can you tell us what settings you used on your gopro?
Cheers Eddie, I didn't use pro-tune or anything, just the auto exposure settings and the wide field of view at 60fps. We converted it to 25 fps in post. If I did it again I would probably use the narrow field of view, it is still super wide but you don't get as much distortion at the edges.
what is your Go Pro settings to get such epic shots? mine looks so choppy and unclear
Nice shots! I have a GoPro 4 Silver and I am thinking about buying this drone. Is it as easy as they say to fly with the drone? I want to use drone footage in my travel vids. Thanks!
Yeah definitely get a drone, all of them are super easy to use. If you were backpacking it would be a bit of a pain to transport just because the bag is pretty big (its light though), but still totally worth it in my opinion. Happy travels dude!
What camera is that?!? 😱😱👍👍
Lo siento por la traducción, usted recomendaría este solo avión no tripulado 3d
Awesome video, do you get in the shit for flying in those places mate, or is it pretty easy to get away with?
super easy, there was nobody really around in a lot of the spots. Probably don't fly one near a fire like we did, that was pretty stupid in hindsight haha
Im using mine in Indonesia at the moment crashed the bloody thing into a coconut tree, it was too windy and i knew it but all the villagers of this island really wanted to see footage from above, bad mistake haha.
haha mine has gotten to know a few trees in its time, never fully crashed though. Is it completely wrecked? I'm waiting for the day mine goes black hawk down...it's bound to happen eventually.
No it just hit a low coconut tree, and fell down maybe 3 or 4 meters, it broke a prop and got some sand on it, but otherwise it seems ok, the gopro lens got scratched though.
Did you hand catch your solo on some of those landings. I've been searching for some footage of someone doing it so I can learn how to do it. Sweet video by the way.
I must add some catch cams :) without too much explanation lower your drone hold the belly lower it on your hand hold power down and your away :)
+InsanitiFPV is that in manual mode or the auto press the fly mode
manually mate i found it is a hell of alot easier also on the gimball im already on my second gimball the hdmi port came off the board

Can you list your GoPro settings for this video?
Sweet 1:08
+bjørn inge mong aalvik It was straight after a big storm, thanks for watching!
What settings were you using? I'm struggling to get any really good footage off my solo. Thank you!
Is Good 👍
what settings? sweet shots.
+ISLANDTECH PRODUCTIONS Thanks for the comment! We shot wide in 1080 at 60fps. In studio we converted the frame rate to 25fps to make it more cinematic. In future though, I will be shooting at the highest possible resolution I can at 25fps and then down-res to 1080 in post to retain more detail. Also, avoid using wide if you can, there was a lot of shots I couldn't include because the fisheye effect was too extreme. Happy shooting!
+ZEROGRAVITY I completely agree with you on that. I shoot at 1440 or 2.7K at the higher frame rates as I don't have a computer that can handle the 4K right now. Also, I shoot in medium BUT I'm also thinking of doing a lens swap for a narrower view as fish eye is just too extreme. Great job.
+CHRIS PARAYNO (BIGISLANDBOY99) Yeah that is definitely how I will be shooting as well, I've found narrow will still work just as well for most of the things I do and looks more natural. haha I'm in the same boat when it comes to 4k so looks like we will both have to wait a little while to upgrade the back end. All the best man, I'll have to check out some of your stuff!
+ZEROGRAVITY Very nice!
3:25 Gah forest fires.. :(
+Bernard Seah Yeah it is a shame, we hung around and luckily it was under control quickly.
Can i use this for my Channel plzz?
What mods were made to your solo? Im struggling to get any real range out of it
come check my out Solo 3DR video, it flew 40,000 foot. No mods or Gimbal.
04:34 where is this place?
+Ricci Reyes Mt Barney, Queensland :)
+ZEROGRAVITY I'm going there now thanks!
+Ricci Reyes Good stuff man! It's a bit of a hike but totally worth it. Let us know how you went!
