'The Patriarchy Works!' Jason Whitlock Debates the 19th Amendment | Ep 48

  • Jason Whitlock, host of "Fearless" on Blaze Media, joins James Poulos to discuss why he wades into the "repeal the 19th Amendment" debate and why he believes “the patriarchy actually works.” They discuss his proposal for a reformed amendment that allows families to vote instead of single persons. Pro golfer Scottie Scheffler broke news by getting arrested prior to the second round of the PGA Championship. In other sports news, Harrison Butker from the Kansas City Chiefs gave a commencement speech at Benedictine College, where he praised stay-at-home moms and homemakers. Nikola Jokic and Caitlin Clark are blowing up the NBA and WNBA, while Tom Brady’s roast took mainstream media by storm, featuring brutal roasts from Nikki Glaser and Kim Kardashian. What does this mean for the future of sports? Will sports professionals be able to express their personal opinions without fear of cancellation? Or will we be able to separate the art from the artist?

Voting should have nothing to do with sex. It should be limited to those who have real skin in the game. Military, veterans, and net taxpayers. If you have served this country in uniform you have skin in the game. If you are paying money to support the country you have skin in the game. If you get back every dollar you pay in taxes, or collect more benefits than the taxes you pay, you are not a net contributor and should not be making decisions that affect the country.

This does not negate the fact that women cannot enforce their own rights. They have to rely on men to do this for them. They're also nowhere near as useful when serving in the military. The bottom line is that they will never stand equal with men, and there is no way around that. So why on earth should their vote count as much.

I'm very disappointed in the Blaze👎🏻. Both my husband and I are lifelong Conservatives with strong family values. We are disgusted at the left's agenda, especially, against children. To say a woman or single people should not vote is ignorant and screams "controlling and insecure masculinity". This mindset only makes the left push their agenda harder. While women should be responsible to not end up being a "baby mama", men are equally contributing to the destruction of the traditional family unit. Men need to lead by example. No respectful woman will allow any man to lead her if he's not honoring himself first, which includes, not being promiscuous when he's single or married. There are many reasons and influences as to why or society has fatherless children, it is not just the woman's fault. There are also just as many men as there are women who vote irresponsibly and uneducated. I do agree that only citizens should be allowed to vote. I hope the Blaze reconsiders this podcast because it's only fueling the left's agenda to pander to women to go against Conservative values by making women a "mute" participant in voting 🗳. Not very smart. If my husband were to pass away, I am grateful to be able to vote as a Conservative woman and not have my vote be taken away because he is no longer here. Again, there are many reasons and influences as to why our society has strayed from God and demoralized itself. Putting the blame squarely on women is reductive, short-sighted and will only solidify the left's agenda.

You cannot enforce your own rights. You have to rely on men to do this for you. All the freedoms you have in this world, exist solely through the benevolence of men. As a result of this reality, females are inherently unequal to men, and therefore your vote should not count as much. It probably shouldn't count at all. Not to mention that none of you were forced to sign up for selective service in order to vote. That fact alone invalidates all of your arguments. Well over 60% of you women are voting Democrat. If you were stricken from voting, the Democrats would quite possibly never take power again. Whether you want to believe it or not, you females and your imaginary rights are absolutely creating more problems than you're solving.

I'm glad that you acknowledge we're in a big mess, and I agree with some of what you are saying. In a case where families voted, if your husband died it would be absurd to take your household's vote away, especially if you have been involved with or a main driver of the vote in your household.
But other parts of what you say actually speak directly to the issue. For example, saying that bringing up the possibility that women's suffrage may have been a mistake is "masculine insecurity" is a point one would expect to hear on the View. The psychological associations or smears you claim about any viewpoint are by definition fallacious. They aren't material to the issue. In political theorizing, one doesn't think if a viewpoint is masculine or feminine to determine if it is correct because those aren't indicative of correctness. Instead, you should be asking how the nature of politics, politicking and campaigning, has changed since women's suffrage. How has it changed and has it changed for the better? On the whole, are men and women persuaded by the same messaging? On the whole do they agree on what the main tasks and limitations are of government? Have politicians changed their approach to governing when they have to appeal to women?
Then we might ask about our current situation again. Are we as a country better off since women's suffrage and all these other progressive measures that have now had their effect? I won't answer, but I will say that this is a better way to frame the issue. It sounds to me like you would say that the answer is mixed. Some of what came out of this era was good and some was bad.
Lastly, women have always been and will always be involved in politics. Aristotle basically says it doesn't matter who the king is when he is married to a strong woman.
I wish you a happy Memorial Day.

Until women are required to register for the draft, then they should not be able to vote. A man who fails to register between the ages of 18 and 26...
    1. Can be charged with "knowingly fail or neglect or refuse to register" for the draft. The penalty is up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
    2. Are ineligible to work for, or do business with, the Federal Government. That includes working for the multitude of federal contractors. Right now women comprise 43.3 percent of the Federal workforce. None of them had to register with selective service to get their job. 100% of their male counterparts did. This applies to holding public office, either elected or assigned. That includes POTUS.
    3. Are ineligible for employment with most State and Local governments.
    4. Are ineligible for drivers licenses in Forty states and the District of Columbia.
    5. Are ineligible for student aid programs such as guaranteed student loans, Pell grants and federal scholarship programs. 31 states mirror this requirement for State programs. Eight states will not allow a man who did not register to attend classes at a State University, regardless of ability to pay tuition.
    6. Are ineligible for Federal job training under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (formerly Workforce Investment Act).
    7. Immigrant men who lived in the U.S. or got their green card at any time between the ages of 18 and 26 but did not register with selective must demonstrate an additional five years of "good moral character" to apply for Naturalization. Their female counterparts do not have this requirement.
Personally I do not want to see women be sent to war, but if women can vote for a politician who has the power to start a war, or can serve in a political or appointed position like Secretary of State (looking at you Killary), then I feel very strongly that they should have to personally experience the consequences of that decision... just like men. Until that happens, I will never see women as equal to men under the law.

@dumon4264 Your comment should be pinned at the top ⬆️.
