This is pretty awesome! I wish one of these companies would figure out a way to beef up just the area of the screen where the balls hit most of the time so you don’t have to replace an entire 8x10 or 10x10 screen when you really only hit into a 2x2 space for 95% of your shots…
Hi Scott, Like your channel. Helped me a lot when I was researching a garage sim. I also have this enclosure with a mevo+. There are also some negatives. The biggest negative is that the screen doesn’t tighten enough and it ripples making the picture have a water ripple artifact arc Ross the whole bottom. Some worse than others. This is a little distracting and affects picture quality. Especially on e6 where your club selection and icons sit in the lower rippled area. Looks like yours has less of a rippled effect on the screen and just a little at the bottom left/right. Is this because of the second screen on top of the the original? I also have screen samples from Carls and Onestop for when I was shopping around. The screen quality on 24/7 is similar to their standard offering but not quite as bright ( The pros your mention… i agree with, but there are some cons that people should know). The other is the bars are great for easy snap-together setup but they could be a heavier weight so they don’t bend/flex. Mostly the back bottom bar. If they refine and improve these 2 things, I think it could really improve this enclosure. Cheers!
Good to hear from someone with experience with it! The sag on mine is actually very good which means almost none. I always expect some because the only way I've seen it removed is to have a support post in the middle which is not a good idea. But for me I've gotten out the steamer and have been able to get rid of most "ripples." We also just made sure to get the screen as tight as possible on both sides, I'm sure the second screen helps and it's easier to work with then the whole enclosure with the sides to tighten, but our first screen was looking pretty good too I thought as well. I've had it for a few weeks now so it's still early, but I absolutely love it and have no issues with it.
Great video Scott! I have the comparable enclosure from Top Shelf Golf and it rebounds badly and my screen is already wearing out after hitting about 1000 golf balls and I will have to replace the whole enclosure when it fails. I love the fact that 24/7 enclosure has two screens with one being replaceable so when the front screen fails all you have to do is replace it. Thanks for the video!
Hey Scott, appreciate the video and the info or 247 golf. Two questions, I'm in a townhouse and I see you have a Mevo Plus. How deep is your garage as I know you need at least 7 to 8 ft behind the hitting spot. Second question, did you have to do anything with your garage door opener? Couldn't tell if you had rails in the garage. I'm thinking this may be too tall for my garage - after watching this video I ran out to my garage and my garage height is 8'6". Also, appreciate the humility on not reading the instructions. My wife would appreciate that. LOL Thanks again!
For the winter I take down my garage door opener (leave the rails up) and we both park in the driveway. Sacrifice willing to make to save money and have a nice setup. My setup is about 18 ft. 9 ft behind and 9 ft of flight. It works very well and it's an enjoyable setup for the winter. Best thing is measure out your space, This unit I have might be perfect for you at the height, but just check the specs and you can make it work!
Thanks Scott! You mentioned you were going to explain how the setup works on Apple TV with iPad and Mevo+? Will that be in a future video? Really curious how you do that with the WiFi constraints.
The mat is DIY, I had an extra and cut the strips for hitting and then adding on for putting. Works pretty well although not better than if I had the whole setup on a deck, but that's not practical in this space and I don't use putting enough.
I bought the 10x10x10 enclosure from 24/7 back in October. The side of the screen developed a rip in the seam. They replaced the entire thing no problem within a week. I didn't have the extra screen to put in front of the one on the enclosure. I looked at their website and couldn't find it. Could you help me with that? I really like the idea of 2 screens.
I hear you mention fusion tracking…I played a Sunday round last week and noticed significantly improved tracking and stats. Did the firmware up I did load fusion tracking???
I bought this package from 24/7 golf myself. The biggest problem with this screen is you have to have it in a 4:3 ratio because it's a 4:3 ratio screen. So by adjusting your settings on your laptop to project through the projector you can get it pretty reasonable. Its not perfect but it's not bad. Also as you can see..The screen does have some creases which are impossible to get out. Also I think the customer service it quite crap imo. I received no help even after multiple phone calls which meant it took me a lot longer to set up. I'm not even sure I have it set up properly tbh but it works.
Yea there are a lot of 4:3's out there which is computer friendly, but very easy to adjust in your graphics card settings. My previous one was also 4:3 and I know most commercial simulator setups are as well (at least the ones I've seen). The 16:9 from devices and defaults on laptops are hard to get good setups for.
@@scotthogangolf Hey Scott any ideas to get the creases out of the bottom of the screen? Also you mentioned about a screen you can put over the top of the existing screen. How is that fixed to the existing screen? Cheers.
@@scotthogangolf Have you got a link for the over the top velcro screen? I can't see them on their website. What settings would you put the iron on to do the existing screen..synthetic?
Hi Scott looking for a projector and housing for my outdoor sim. Not sure if hanging from a cross brace I have will work as I think it will be in the way, so think I need a floor unit. Any suggestions for both projector and housing (uk based) my screen is about 10 ft square, cheers
It really depends on your setup, screen size and how far away. I tend to like Optima projectors but projectors are the one thing that is difficult to recommend. You can get a floor housing. Check out 24/7 Golf - they are my go to for this stuff and I'd also ask them questions.
Great video Scott! I have been watching a bunch of your videos lately because I am starting to put together a simulator and am really interested in the Mevo+. You mentioned this is in your garage, Is the netting/screen sitting in front of the garage door? I'm looking to build my simulator in my garage as well but the best set up involves me hitting towards an insulated steel sectional garage door and am concerned about interference if I go with a Mevo+. Any experience with a set up like that and if so any problems with interference?
Another great vlog Scott! I’ll definitely be contacting 24/7 GOLF. I’m looking forward to seeing your projector solution. I have an outdoor setup under an awning with a lot of light during the day. Finally, where did you purchase the white netting?
There are many levels to this, if getting a projector and a screen that isn't going to break within a couple dozen shots, that would be tough to do, so if you do good work.
This is pretty awesome! I wish one of these companies would figure out a way to beef up just the area of the screen where the balls hit most of the time so you don’t have to replace an entire 8x10 or 10x10 screen when you really only hit into a 2x2 space for 95% of your shots…
Maybe some sort of hitting target pinned to the screen would help. Although projecting on it would be tough.
I think i will get my next launch monitor from these guys as I am from Australia . Looks great!

Oh no! Exactly why I love the option to get the extra screen. Because the screens always go bad!
Awesome video Scott. I liked the mat setup.
Go Necks!!! In addition to your setup, the WIU flag is awesome!
WOOOOO! I've had a few students go play on scholarship for the golf teams there! They've loved it!

Yes I'll go over it.
Where did you purchase the side netting from? Didn't look like 24/7 sells that. Thank you and keep up the great work!
West coast netting!
That mat setup is great. Not many (or any?) offer a mat like that with the putting path too. I am about to DIY mine (Am a Canuck).
