Thank you! These are rarely done in x-ray now so when it comes through I won't panic as much!😄😂

I have jaw problems that escalated to extreme body pain. This is all caused by orthodontics. I am in so much pain. I know theres something wrong with my occlusion and bone structure. I want to know what kind of xrays tell the assymetry, and to prove the deviation. My whole upper jaw deviated towards the left and the mandible followed. I have a false midline I cant rest my tongue up the roof of my mouth. Please help me. Thank you

Your dentist can order panorex x-rays of your teeth that might help give you an idea if any issues. definitely get their opinion.

Does it negatively impact the image if the CR is not centered to the grid/bucky?

The newer DR is very good at making that less an issue.

Collimate to the size of the mandible and exclude the thyroid from the projection in the PA. Open the mouth if possible to show the condyles. Do not include the thyroid in the lateral and oblique. Centering points mean nothing and were part of the descriptions made in 1920 when radiography was standardized.
