These days it's good to see this trend changing with actresses like Kajol, Aishwarya as well as Kareena who are continuing to work after marriage and children. It is also worth mentioning that historically in Bollywood women past the age of 35 started being cast in the mother role. For example Waheeda Rehman in the film Kabhi Kabhi was only 38 when she played the role of a mother of a grown up child. In fact in the film Trishul she even played the role of Amitabh Bachan's mother while still in her 30s. Today it's good to see actresses like Kajol who are over 40 but still playing the lead roles.
