It is starting to seem that way. Lots of Alkan recordings are popping up, not too many Moszkowski. But thing is that there are a few pieces by Moszkowski that are super popular that have likes hundreds of recordings, while the most recordings Alkan’s most popular pieces is 30 or less
Only the techniques are similar, the character is totally different. Lyapunov made a far more exact knock-off of feux follets in his transcendental etudes (and I really feel the opus as a whole is a series of knock-off. Really enjoyed him knocking-off Islamey in Lezginka though)
To some degree, Moszkowski is way harder than Alkan. It is almost impossible to make mistakes in his work without ruining the whole piece and the mood. His work is pure and has no way to hide like Mozart but in a Romantic style.
Fish Fillet
Haha -- love it!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
My right hand is tired just looking at that score. Moszkowski's has some really good etudes.
sounds miles more interesting than fish filet ❤️
I know some of Moszkowski‘s études. Great work that he‘s done!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Moszkowski more underrated than Alkan

@@Medtszkowski Agree
fr
Alkan is not underrated enough
@@Medtszkowski I would love to argue that the reason there are so few Alkan recordings is because of how damn hard they are

Even if the Lypunov pieces are knock offs, I still like to listen to them. So I’m glad they are knock offs
The two harder TEs combined. Both no 5 and 12.

opening reminds me of dukas piano sonata
It looks like mixup of transcendental etudes
Yeah kind of lol
I think you meant Lyapunov's 11th transcendental etude.
And even greater melody than Feut Follets! I love it
It's Feux Follet if you play with left or right hand only.
