This case always makes me so deeply sad. Seemed like such a genuinely kind, empathetic person and someone who truly was passionate about her art rather than about just being a celebrity. This is pretty rare, especially for such a young person today. She was even kind enough to want to talk to and embrace Kevin before he shot her, where everyone else wanted to avoid him. So deeply sad

Remember when the media gave Avril Lavigne so much flack about not allowing a random male fan to hug her? The media claimed she was "mean" and allowing fans to take pictures with you and get a hug just "comes with the territory."
I don't like her music but I admired that she stood by her boundaries and wouldn't be pressured into interactions with fans that she wasn't comfortable with.
After things like this happen, it's no wonder why a young female celebrity wouldn't feel comfortable with total strangers to her coming up and wanting close contact or physical contact. No one would give Avril Lavigne any shit for that in today's world! they'd be commending her for being a good influence for young female fans

I had an aggressive stalker many years ago. The police could do nothing. Eventually, I moved away and he turned his attention to a Cracker Barrel waitress. After the waitress's boyfriend confronted the stalker, the stalker went home and returned the next night. He shot and killed the waitress and seriously injured her boyfriend (head wound) when she was being picked up at the end of her shift. Scared me when I heard what had happened.

In the case of Rebecca Shaffer who was murdered by a crazed fan on her doorstep he got her address through the DMV. It’s now illegal to just give out that information. But at the time of her murder anyone could access addresses this way. So the laws have to change first.

Christina and I are from the same hometown. She only went to my high school for a short bit of time, but she was very loved by those who had known her. I remember my choir teacher being so, so excited when she got on The Voice, taking a majority of class time to talk about her and show us the clip of her (singing Wrecking Ball, I believe). While I never met her myself, there was a day that she visited after the school day ended and some people I knew did talk with her, all of them saying how incredibly sweet she was.

First time hearing this story. Sad and scary at the same time. I remember back in the late 90s a young tennis star by the name of Monica Seles was stabbed (but lived to see another day) by a person in the crowd as she went to hug her team after winning a match. This changed security for tennis matches after that event. Tennis players are now escorted by security before going up in the crowd to hug their team after winning a match. Weird and deranged people out there. Thanks Dr Grande for consistency of putting out interesting stories. 👍🏾

If I remember correctly, Monica wasn't even in a crowd when she was stabbed. She was playing a match being shown on television & during one of the breaks, she was on her designated seat, sipping from her bottle, fiddling with her racquet, when this person walked behind her & buried a knife in her back. Caught everyone off guard. She didn't even know what had hit her but did let off a scream that got everyone's attention. This reminds me of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the former Pantera guitarist who was murdered on stage by an obsessed, delusional stalker who snuck into a show that Dime was playing with his new band, Damageplan, and shot him dead in front of his brother, who was also in the band, and then began firing into the crowd after shooting the band's tour manager who had tried to tackle him. He apparently blamed Dimebag for the breakup of Pantera, and said as much before opening fire. A police officer who happened to be in the area at the time went into the club alone without waiting for backup and killed the gunman. Still one of the most shocking and tragic incidents in the history of rock music and metal.

after a certain number of record sales, you are guaranteed to have at least one really serious, really dangerous stalker. Look at Ariana Grande, or literally any kpop star who exists right now. Nayeon from TWICE has a German stalker named Josh who has managed to get ON A PLANE WITH THE GROUP to the point they are all constantly on guard. it's a numbers game, once you're that famous you're just rolling the dice on how safe you can keep yourself. because we do absolutely nothing to intervene with delusional people, and once your name is out there, it just takes one mentally ill person with free time and you're looking over your shoulder forever.
if you look it up on youtube, recently there was a guy following the boy band TXT around and he managed to get on stage a week or so ago, got very close to some of the guys and then was following them around the venue during the show until he was stopped, it was really scary. the band is lucky the dude didn't seem intent on doing anything, or taking advantage of how dumbfounded everyone was, because they were just letting him do whatever until the shock wore off.

Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun is "The light of the World"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays.
Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes.
The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.
The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe.
In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens.

If he was in conflict with a woman, he often decided the reason was that she had fallen in love with him or desired him s*xu@lly. Married women, therapists, church members… He even believed an elderly Catholic nun who “didn’t like him” was in reality, desiring him.

And reading the comments from the Orlando, Florida PD detectives who conducted the interviews with Kevin's co-workers and family, the alleged accidental death(reported as Aspirin Overdose) of Kevin's mom(Nora) in 2010 is usually commented upon only in passing; except that he blamed himself by supposedly encouraging her to commit suicide. Was this ongoing guilt an important factor in Loibl's obsession with Christina? After all, a huge part of her faith was about eventual redemption from sin; all sin. Sometimes that can be an even more powerful desire than mere sexual attraction.

I was aware of Christina because she was a Haley Reinhart fan and in fact was one of the first to sing & record a song that Haley had written, "Get Yourself Together" (you can hear Haley's distinct vocals in the background).
At the time, I'd heard Christina's Meet and Greet was basically in a hallway. I've been to several meet and greets and most of them are indoors where you would not only have to pass at least one door security, the meet and greet would be held in a room where access to the artist is more limited than if it would be in a public hallway, where the general public just walked pass the meet and greet table. I'm not sure that would've prevented what happened but at least having the M&G in a separate room, passing through another security, there would be opportunity for those observing to spot 'out of place' people. I recall there were some girls in line w/ the guy and reported that he was very quiet and they got really 'weird' vibes from him. So people's alarm bells were going off.
I hate to generalize, but recent years we see how citizens of the State of Florida love their guns, perhaps this kind of attitude contributed to the laisez faire way security was the night of the murder, although you'd think living in a gun loving state, security would be more aware of the potential gun violence risk than these people did that night, or maybe their guard was down because of the average age of Christina's fans (more reason the murderer should've had more attention focussed on him before the act).... RIP Christina

Perhaps when this venue starts selling handguns, they'll make an effort to do weapon searches as people enter. "No outside guns allowed".

It's always those damned gun lovers isn't it. It's never lack of mental health support, bullying, broken family, obsession with celebrities amplified by "celebrity culture" on all media outlets...
BTW a knife would do just as well.

It's hard to generalize on concert venues and how security could be made to work under all circumstances. Just a couple of weeks ago I saw a concert by Cam Coles, a performer who has largely carved his own niche through YT and social media, he's British and this is his first US tour. The venue was little more than a bar and there was some contract security present, mostly at the door. After the show Cam just walked to the back of the bar area where a couple of tables were set up and he proceded to sign autographs and pose for photos with fans. I am not sure that there was enough of a security presence to prevent him being assaulted - certainly I was not frisked/ searched.

This is so sad and shocking. Here she was reaching out to give this guy a hug which had he allowed her to could have helped him. He could have had a great story and a nice memory of a talented and kind person with a happy selfie. The money blown on the guns he could have brought her a boutique of flowers then moved on to maybe finding a girl who loved music but a little more in his league. He even had a job and a friend. It’s just a shame he didn’t get the help he needed and especially for her and her family that she was a bright rising cut down through lack of security and her openness to her fans. She will be loved and missed

My theory is that he decided in his deluded mind that the only way they could be together was to die together.
It's strange that people think that life will be as is after passing from here. NO, IT WON'T.

If the killer showed no violent tendencies, what was the deal with the police being called to his home all those times? What did I miss? It is a true shame that Kevin did not get the mental health care that was desperately needed. I hope that Christina’s brother is getting the help he needs to deal with the trauma he experienced.

Certain vitamin deficiencies can also contribute to photophobia and audiophobia. But the guy played WoW so it sounds like a mere dislike of the outside anything. Hard to say.

Dr. Grande, I have a concussion and I am mildly phonophobic, but your low, soft cadence is very soothing. I can't tolerate much media right now because it's all so loud, so I came straight to your channel because I knew it wouldn't be overwhelming. Thank you. 🌸

I Recently read erotomania is more common in women, which was surprising since most perpetrators are men and victims women.

@@barbaradascalos4411 Yeah but we all had celebrity crushes, but for most it doesn't progress into erotomania. Celebrity crushes are more common in women I'll agree with that, but not to the degree of dangerous delusion.

Well that's why I said "grow out off that stage" Sadly I think this guy was no longer under the delusion so that's when he took action. If he was still under the delusion he would still be holding out hope in his mind.
