      Is the humidity! When it is 100 where I live (PNW) it's HOT. But I've been to Utah, southern California and it's not so bad

      Because that shit is true!! lol it was 94°F in Tampa,FL when I left for a business trip to Las Vegas… there it was 105°F and I’d take that 105°F dry heat over Tampas humid heat ANY DAY!

    No, as someone from the tropics of Queensland Australia, It IS the humidity that will make folks faint, regardless of colour. Good luck coming here and not dying. Y'all could never.

      Absolutely. I have lived in the Mojave Desert and now QLD.
      Difference is, you sit in the shade in a dry heat, you cool off.
      40 with 85% humidity feels like you are being boiled, complete with breathing water instead of air.

    If you’ve lived in Cadiz (Spain) and lived in Miami or even Panama (country) in the summertime, you know the humidity can absolutely leave you depleted of energy. Same temp just humidity. Both are difficult. On the other side, with humidity you don’t need humectants on your skin. 🙏🏻

      Had a friend come from Arizona to Nebraska. Arizona is hot but the humidity nearly killed them.

      Humidity essentially suffocates your skin and takes away your bodies ability to naturally cool down through sweat. It's truly a nasty thing lol

    😂😂 This is so true!! Okay even though I’m brown, I’m so culturally white compared to my local Hawaiian/Filipino husband. Nothing bothers him more than when I order pineapple pizza (with Canadian bacon 🤔).

    I love this. I've been lucky enough to have lived on Oahu and Maui. I feel in love with the culture, the people and my bff is the reason why. She's from Hawaii. I have to say Hawaii will always my second home. ❤🏝 The best thing about Hawaii are my 2 greatest souvenirs, now 20 and 8! 😂

      As someone who lives in Canberra where it’s so dry the humidity is an actual killer! I used to be able to handle it growing up but not anymore
      And when I visit home and complain about it my mum always says “at least we don’t live in Cairns!!!”

      @oliviacowie5791 I don't remember humidity being bad growing up, but the last few years have been awful. I also didn't know Canberra had bad humidity. If I ever visit there I'll go in winter.

    It is the humidity! I’m Vegas it was 120 less than 10% humidity and 88 in Orlando. Got heatstroke in 88 and 90% humidity!!! Haystacks are a Utah thing

    My Mum says the humidity one 😂😂. She LOVES hot weather but where I live it's a dry heat. She's a Flight Attendant and used to love doing Hong Kong's, but always said the humidity there was absolutely fricked. Like step off the subway and you're drenched in humidity and sweat. She also said the humidity in Hawai'i hit a bit different because of the breeze.

    Hawaiian haystacks are a common potluck/buffet meal. Start with a white rice base with a chicken in gravy sauce, then add any toppings you want from the array on offer - usually said like pineapple, coconut, bell peppers, olives, sunflower seeds, chow mein noodles, etc. It sounds disgusting. It doesn't look much better. It's tastes better than it should

    Does humidity not affect everyone? I personally get very sick. Got immune problems and humidity almost lands me in the emergency room. I feel like I’m suffocating in a steam room. Wasn’t like that growing up but when I had my son a decade ago, my body completely changed😭😭 I can’t stand heat the way I liked it growing up…

    The heat doesn't take you down l....the humidity does. I had no problem living in Phoenix...but Kansas??? KANSAS?!?!?!? It's like Satan turned on the sauna.

    people cool down by evaprating sweat, if the ambient air contains to much water people can t cool down properly , tha ts why a 100 degrees in arizona does not feel the same as a 100 degrees in hawaii florida or singapour

    I have never understood the humidity one. I live in Okinawa and here it is not the humidity that kills you no matter how much people say it. It's the sunlight. It burns flesh off pale people in minutes. I saw a girl so burned she got sun sickness. Even I try to wear sunscreen so I don't get sunlines. And then we take silly pictures tee hee. (It has now turned into a posing competition usually centered around who can look most ridiculous while eating.)
