I feel so lucky to have stumbled across this clip. It feels like I found a little secret crevice of the internet, where I get to learn from the wisdom of these incredible and resilient elders. Thank you so much for sharing their words with us ❤️
Because of the safety net it presents. Neither is it a bad thing however it may not have been their first choice. And if it was they are referring to the overall commitment of doing anything or something more. Note to all: you are enough and education can be found in books, this is your life. You have free range and school is not your final destination. Seems things we are taught life is supposed to be still haunt us. Have no regrets! Just strive! And life will play out. Also hopefully they understand school is still a option however nobody is telling them to live a life full of regret. Take advice with a grain of salt and live yours. It's better than living someone else's
As someone in their 20s, I believe the key message from this video is self-love. Love yourself enough to know your past (culture/ ancestry), to enjoy your present (friends, family, hobbies), and to not give up until you have the future you want (level of education, life-partner, job you enjoy)
Listen and pay attention (to people, to how they get out of trouble, why they got into trouble, how they are looking at you) because you can learn a lot when you pay attention. In addition, follow your intuition because it rarely fails you. If you get a funny feeling about something or someone, believe your gut feeling. Go after your goals and dreams (be realistic about what you are trying to reach) even if people try to tell you that you are not capable of reaching them ---- if you KNOW and FEEL that you can reach a certain goal, then go for it. Don't pay attention to people who tell you to give up your goals and dreams, they are distractions in your way. Keep an eye on your goal and go for it.
I lost all my grandparents by the time I was 16. Do I miss them? I don't know. I'd hardly even got to know my dad's parents when they died. I was about 5. Some nice vague memories. That's all I have but that'll do :)
Enjoy, or at least take in the good from your adolescence as best you can. I can’t believe it’s been a decade this year since I entered into that big scary world of middle school lol. Seriously though It kind of feels weird that I will never be a teenager again.
Just enjoy it. Do good in school, you will probably reflect after it wasn't actually that difficult to get good grades. Make friends and just enjoy your time building relationships with the people you like.
I would’ve told myself that I need to take better care of my grandmother and my mother, To ask more questions I had to give my love to them . They went to the boarding schools and never talked about How these evil doers were abusing the children in the name of the Lord at that , it explained alot when I found out. Thanks be to father, creator, and maker of all, I did realize it because he was always with us since creation . I also realize that he had been here all along .
This made me cry I am in my 20s now thanks for that beautiful advice to all the people in this video

Education seems to be the biggest regret!

You are miles ahead of the game young man. Good journey, because that is what life is-- a journey.
They are all saying the same thing.Education.
yep, and self-love: love yourself enough to know your past, enjoy your present, and don't give up until you have the future you want

So amazing. I just love this. The guy says *How can I love anyone else if I can't love myself first?* it's so true. YOu have to love yourself first.
If I was to advise 20 years old me, I will say give your life to Jesus and live accordingly, you will never regret I promise.

To ask more questions I had to give my love to them .
