Heh, I've been down there a few times for deliveries. Maybe it's pointless but on the other hand lets drivers know to expect cycles coming the opposite direction. Although could have been achieved just with symbols and not a painted line that is blocked by bins anyway so I suppose it is.
My thanks go out to those 19 seconds for saving me from the awful shorts player. Regular player much preferred :) That cycle lane is very pointless. If that gave the developers more green credit, I think it's a very good argument for why the planning system needs some criticial thought applied, rather than just applying rules when they don't quite fit!
It's not completely useless though. Without the cycle lane, cyclists could not (legally) ride in the direction you went because it's a one-way street. The bike lane addresses the fact that there is enough room for two-way bike traffic but not for car traffic.
They could if the sign said "⛔⦗Except cycles⦘" like a lot of streets (the City of London in particular is a local authority that likes doing this a lot).

What have you been doing? Where have you been?
Filming a lot, but for various reasons I have been unable to find the time to edit.
