  • Several weeks have past since I determined it would behoove me to establish a Wild Camp Cache in the heart of my "Secret Fun Spot". It has been two months since I purchased my Mystery Ranch Thor III and attempted to modify it for use as a "Load Hauler". That is approximately the moment all the recent "RUCKDICULOUSNESS" began.
I will be placing my cache boxes in their "Secret Fun Spot" hidden location. I will also test both of my A.L.I.C.E. Frame Load Haulers in different configurations for different legs of my journey, approximately 16 miles in all.
I provide thoughts and opinions along the way as well as a final assessment of both load haulers at the conclusion of my mission.

Fun times! Few suggestions. Use black truckbed on bottom so it don't rust, paint can camo, very blended, or mostly brown to match leaves color and the trees, make sure can don't wobble as it can make noise inadvertently with say wind or shifts in stuff near it, and have a beer for a well done. You definitely earned it. That's a long and heavy ruck for age. Many can't. You can be proud of that.

Thank you very much for sharing this valuable advice! I will most certainly implement it in the future! I appreciate this very much! At just a few months shy of 60, I have found that fitness is the only way I can do what I love doing. There is no fountain of youth and no magic pill that can replace dedicated exercise. Thank you for recognizing that and I will now enjoy that beer! Blessing to you and yours Brother. Thanks again!

Thank You! I honestly can't believe I gave all of my original Alice packs away. However, they were all heavily used and abused and finding a medium and two large Alice packs with frames unissued on the cheap was a real blessing! I plan on taking them all out in the fall with different kits for wild camp videoing. Yes, Alice will live on far beyond me!

What an amazing forest! I wouldn't want to be wondering around there with no flashlight! Ha ha.
    Great video as usual 🙂

Thank you very much! I am truly fortunate to have such a beautiful area to wild camp in. I am very blessed! The terrain can be extreme in areas and care needs to be taking and respect must be paid or a misstep could easily be fatal.

Just as you think you've found a fine place for the first cache...an attractive draw of chicken in the woods mushrooms! I have been eager to see how your frames and pack systems worked in the woods. A sixteen-mile day on a natural trail! My feet would never have taken that.

James, the game trail is so well established it's like walking in a metro park. The way in is down hill which really helps and not having a heavy load on the way back was a blessing. I was sore the next day but it was worth it. I felt good about what all I was able to accomplish in multiple ways!

LOL the spider talk. We just recently started to see more arb weavers here (beach area of SoCal). I leave them alone, but one just kept making his web outside the front door. Most of us knew it and ducked, but those that didn't freaked out, and that spider (after a couple of times) moved to a better spot. Got a few daddy long legs in the house, they keep down insects and don't bug me, so symbiotic relationship.

I'm with you, I live and let live with insects and critters. If there are spiders in my house, it's because there is food for them to eat. That food will in no way benefit my household! 😆😄😆😄😆😄

I Love It When A Plan Comes Together!😀👍 Thank You for these positive comments! I love this area and I will be filming here frequently. It is a bit of a drive and then the hike in. The hike in is actually not bad, down hill and the game trails are so well established it's like hiking in a metro park. I have another video from there I will try to post for Sunday, it might be a two part video (A Lot Of Footage Filmed). Things have been very hectic and i have had to neglect my RUclips stuff a bit. I will try to get to my emails asap. I was very pleased with everything from this video. You should like Sundays video if you liked this one. Blessings.

20.00 what a guy 😅 greetings from England near the Welsh Border. Subbed 👍 Ive been thinking about hiding a small cache somewhere to make camping with my young girls (they dont know yet) a bit easier. Question: whats in your cache?!

Camp Caches can really come in handy. I've got enough kit cached at my semi permanent camp that I could just leave work and go strait there and set up camp and have everything I need for a weekend. The cache I placed in the video is more for emergencies and resupply. Here is a link to the video that covers what I have in the cache. ruclips.net/video/9Gf3NiosZGI/видео.html&ab_channel=Boonedockery

😆😄😅😆😄😅 David, I had a lot going for me that day. The trip in is mostly down hill, the game trails are so well established it's like walking in a metro park, and I wasn't packing a heavy load back up hill to my vehicle, not to mention the weather was fantastic!

Rig up a gimbal and some kind of attachment for your camera , so you can use a walking stick or pole ..

    • @boonedockery7220
      @boonedockery7220  2 года назад +1

Bill, I've looked at gimbals and they are a little pricey. I am actively working on my equipment situation and I need to find a way to use my poles and still film. A couple of the things I have done might help in this area. Just have to field test and experiment with them.
