- There are a lot of shortcuts in this game. I succeeded in doing all the ones I had planned to do while playing pretty decently overall in this speedrun. However, there are a couple of more (riskier) shortcuts that could potentially be implemented in the run and save additional time in the future. Also in Gold Cup, the last track you can get one of two tracks and unfortunately I got the slower track which I lost quite a lot of time on.

Yo... this is insane. This was always one of my childhood faves, and I've been revisiting it lately, but I had no idea it could be played like this. Some of those shortcuts are completely wild. Well done.
That lightning double jump is just ridiculous as well.
EDIT: The Sand Ocean one is also insane!!! Holy fudge
And I felt that the Skip that is required on that Zero test was wild.

It's funny how the SNES version of silence still manages to sound best after all these years.
Strange, I thought the one in F-Zero Climax was the best. :P

Of course, someone was able to bring out its potential in ways the GBA never could.

11:48 FYI you could have jus went full left at the jump pad to skip over that U shaped corner and easily saved ur self around 5 seconds might not be much but is if speed running ur ship is fast enough to do that....

Wait, this isn't the whole bunch of tracks? You only did the Novice/Standard tracks plus Platinum Cup? Mm. This would've been more awesome if you'd done the Master variations as well.
In addition, I notice you used unlockable characters. That's kind of boring... but I guess that's how a true World Record speed run is achieved.
I think it's better to just divide it into categories, so there's a Novice/Standard and Master one (which I might do someday). There could also be one where you drive through them all, but I don't think I would be much interested in that since I don't want to destroy my hands; it would probably be up to 2 hours of very intense driving.
About playing with unlock-able vehicles, imo it would be much more boring if you played the game without any unlocks at the start since you'd have to use slower vehicles that couldn't do all techs or shortcuts (which are big parts of what makes the game fun to play).

I've watecg this video a dozen times and I can never pull off the caterpillar jump. I can do the safer version, but you need to go halfway through the track first. I use a traditional gameboy, wonder if it's easier on emulator.
that snaking shit is whack, how much faster is it to snake lile that than maxspeed play?

For a long time, I thought that the night thunder was useless. I was very wrong.

And I've always thought Jack Levin and Leon were the best choice whilst Silver neelsen was garbage...
If you play the game "normally", Leon is actually the best if you learn to blast corner.
Why Night Thunder??
Van Rodrius Because of A-rated Boost is always good to have (especially in GP Legend that there's a sort of speed cap around 1200kmph disallowing you to stack multiple boosts) and the E-rated Grip I assume allows you to pull off those sliding maneuvers. I'd think the Body rating is unimportant, but the Night Thunder being powerful there as well might give some extra room for error.
As for why Night Thunder instead of similarly rated machines? (i.e: Blood Hawk which is also B-A-E) Probably weight optimization for better speed. There I'm not so sure since I don't usually remember which machines are heavier or lighter.
the heavier weight means it turns much wider than blood hawk so I recon this is better for keeping speed easier on wider roads
