    I have come across other authors that applies the term brightness to Specific intensity. May you comment please?

      "Brightness" generally means flux per solid angle, without dividing out the frequency interval. For example, the brightness of the sun includes all the contributing colors of light coming from the sun. In other words, specific intensity is brightness per frequency.
