Gotta say for me the first 4 kol albums are all perfect 10's. One thing besides the drumming that everyone overlooks is the bass playing. Especially as the band progressess.
I was just watching you video earlier today on Beatles time signatures! The Beatles and Kings of Leon are probably my two favorite bands (along with Radiohead). In my mind, I've always compared Nathan a bit to Ringo, not because they have a similar drum sound, but because they always bring something unique and memorable to each song. They always serve the song first. Very glad you made this video :)
You: slow night, so long Me: the Powerpuff girls! Jokes aside this was so good, followill's drumming scratches an itch and you made a really good detailed explanation as to why, thank you 💕
Well another great episode this definitely opened up KOL for me. Excellent teaching. One request could ever do an episode on John Maher, the Buzzcocks amazing drummer. He could swing the motorik beat ("Fast Cars") make tricky time signatures danceable and maintain perfect time. Much like Alan Meyers , Devo's drummer ( hint hint)
I would play drums with him, when he was a teenager, his dad preached for a church I attended. A lot of his hi hat grooves are straight out of Pentecostal song Service music.

Grown To Like This Band When You Introduced Them To Me A Few Years Back…
Jack Bevan from Foals?
Your ability to replicate all these different drummers and their styles is quite amazing. I love this series of videos. Cheers!

Cobb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so insightful! I'd love to hear your take on Catfish & the Bottlemen, The National, or The Maccabees.

That’s so cool! Thank you for sharing that.
Love your videos, I always learn so much. If you’re open to requests, it would be awesome to see a video on Jason Albertini of Duster.
Please do a video on Bryan Devendorf from The National!!!!
