Most if not all of these start-ups are recreations and very well done and recreate the flavour of what we saw all those years ago. Very nostalgic and spot-on...genuine recordings appeared from the 70's onwards
Most of these dates are actually wrong. You have a point about the ATV one, Granada didn’t use their March until 1958, so that should say 1958 not 1957, but the biggest one I noticed was Southern’s, which they said was 1960, but was actually from 1968.
Not that scary because I'm used to the ATV logo. But I can handle you opinion and can see why (the sudden loud music and ATV logo appearing at the end can be unexpected)
I had actually found the Yorkshire TV startup from 1968 but the video was deleted before I could download it.
What a wonderful collection of start-up music. Very uplifting ❤
ATV, Southern and Rediffusion were cooking the most here 🔥🔥🔥
And TWW🔥🔥🔥
The Yorkshire TV is recreation one because there were no dots on them.
Remember when all the regional schedules were printed in the paper
Yorkshire TV one is a recreation - possibly with someone's old off air audio. Notice how the pixilation stays still during the first part.
And the ident
8:44 Our friend Deterioration!!
or possibly the telerecording machine got stuck for a second while copying on to film.
I like how The ITA from the ATV channel logo from 50's-60's looks T.A.T.ish
5:28 Redvers Kyle, now there was a continuity announcer!
Redvers Kyle had such a clear, commanding voice. Never mind the Independent Television Authority... His voice was authority personified.

0:00-3:35 ATV London Startup
Can you update it?
Have now the full Westward (1961-1969) startup, also a full Border (60s) and Harlech (1968) included
The ATV one is more likely 1960-63 as that's when that particular tuning signal was in use

It's a kinescope/telerecording - is there any information on the film can?
Atv is 60s to 63s but southern is 68s
The granada one is. Shaky
@@ml8185Thanks for these corrections, these were the dates that were on TVARK at the time. I will change them.
Granada's shaking make it lok scary
2:40 👍
Nice
Any for STV/Grampian?
Interesting how Rediffusion used the generic region name "London" but ATV (London) used the transmitter name "Croydon"!
Best part is later on, Rediffusion used this card too.
16:07 Lost media?
The telerecording engineer had clearly been on the booze during lunch the day the Granada clip got copied onto film.
South Wales and west
14:53 The TWW clock looks positively digital, there were no visible signs of juddering.
2:37-2:39 The scary part...
The normal part 3:01
Yeah btw the ATV startup was London only.

Some mistakes here. The tone was never put over thr Picasso card.
