Who is Alter in Apex Legends and what are her abilities? The Gaming Merchant delves deep into the lore to find the answers for Apex Legends Season 21.
In the season 13 comic, it was revealed that the mysterious person she was fighting was actually dubbed as Subject 0. A test subject who had clearly been tested on by Wraith prior to becoming her own test subject and losing her memory.

I like to stick to my own theory but I think most of ya will disagree, lore is focused on Horizon rn and on the legend website she has a caring line for Horizon rather than insults like how she did with other legends, Alter may be Horizon's partner before Reid (Ash)
what if the reason alter is going after horizon is to go back in time to before wraith experimented on her?

I assume Alter is Wraith's test subject because why would she call her Dr and then start freaking out and getting scared of being experimented on? That wouldn't happen if they were the same person
Alter could be a test subject, but they would have to be from another dimension still. Our wrath only ran test on her self, although we don't know if others were experimented on once wraith lost her memories. After wraith lost them, there is a time gap between when she is freed by the alternative version of herself

From my understanding, Wraith (Dr Renee Blasey) was one of the lead scientists on the phase tech/dimension hopping stuff, and would have experimented on a bunch of other ppl before herself (hence why Alter recognised her as Dr Blasey)
then at some point she either decided to experiment on herself or the scientist guy from her SFTO Trailer forced her to, and she was the only one that the tech ended up working on
then I guess (theorycrafting time) in the same way there are infinite dimensions of alternate wraiths there are probably equally as many infinite dimensions where she never experimented on herself, and someone else was the one that worked, with probably a slightly different methodology bc of wraith herself still actively working as a researcher resulting in the different colour portal effects and presumably different abilities
So then alter is still technically an “alternate wraith” because it’s like in comics and stuff where there always seems to be a spiderman but in different universes it happens a different way to a different person but the underlying canon event is still there
I would get really mad if Singh (the scientist guy) came back into the lore. I almost broke my device at least 5 times today, but I would scream and lose my voice if he's coming back to the lore.

Test subject makes more sense because of the lore you were reading earlier. Someone Wraith should recognize and seen before but cant remember where and when. A test subject she had interacted with before and likely lost and probably forgot about until now.

Honestly the lore is so disjointed and broken that its hard to keep track anymore.
I think she was either a test subject, or she was a coworker who became an experiment like Wraith.

Alter must be someone other than Wraith as she says Dr Blasey to Wraith. Why would Wraith call herself that?
Because she’s an alternate ash. & not wraith. Someone tied more to horizon & her lore. Whom is also a scientist & may knw wraith & all other scientist by their real names
@@yungseven007gaming4 I don't think it is an Ash, as Ashleigh was not a human for like 80 years or so.
@@yungseven007gaming4 Ash and Horizon are way older than Wraith, they never would have met before the games as Scientists. So there wouldn't be any way for someone from back then to know her either. Unless she can hop realities AND time, then there could be some plausibility to it.

Looking at Alters character design, she does indeed have a burn scar on her left shoulder trailing down to her gauntlet on that hand. I think for sure this is Subject 0.!
I feel like maybe she’ll be able to grapple in to her portals if she points her mechanical tail at them. That’s one way her passive can tie in with her full kit since I doubt that tail will be for the passive only
On a very separate note, your game skill has really improved.
You’ve gone from a gold/plat player to a solid diamond level skill in the last 6 months. Your aim and use of cover has improved dramatically.
Respawn could be going the loki route with her alternate version meaning the alternate version could be basically anything but is still a version of wraith from another dimension. So her race wouldn't matter it could still be a version of wraith just Chinese

It's rumoured that altar is patient zero. The first test subject. Before wraith/Dr blasey used it on herself which ended up wiping her memory too and altars abilities are said to be more experimental prototype versions of wraiths.
Maybe she is the Voidwalker wraith that gave her gauntlet to young wraith so she could enter the void.
Regarding test subjects, it's definitely possible that in some other dimension wraith never was the test subject herself, she might just be a doctor experimenting on subjects, by free will or forcefully. That would link the "test" itself to the ability to travel dimensions, despite who the subject is in what dimension.
It doesn't make sense for another Wraith to call her alternate self "Dr Blasey". I think a test subject is more likely to call Wraith by that name. It also makes sense for a test subject to have a broken mind which all the teases have been alluding to.
It was nice to see that they remembered it is cannon that Wraith has super human strength alongside phase abilities
She has super strength too? When did they say that in the lore? I never knew that, thats pretty cool info and explains how shes like 5 foot whooping 7 foot robots like theyre kids with a belt 😂
I imagine if Alter is the same person as subject 0, then she probably isn't another Wraith because she probably wouldn't have called her "Dr. Blasey."
"Green portals" - One day in the firing range I was messing around with wraith with a friend and saw the ult was green, but same icon. It was weird. A couple minutes later it was fixed.
If I’m not mistaken Wraith did do a lot of not notably good tests on people to try and work on phase tech. It was only when they ran out that she volunteered and became wraith in the process. Plus alter seems to be afraid of wraith as if she is going to hurt her beyond just the fight which makes sense because the scientists in her stories from the Outland seem to just look to pain and death as an answer to everything.
she volunteered for project wraith, presumably because of the success seen with subject 0 who is almost certainly who alter is, rather than because they "ran out of subjects"
i thought that the thing that was destroyed over broke moon was the big diamond shaped shield system you would see in the sky. i believe what alter was doing was opening these portals to activate alert systems and when they were online they would fire at the portal only for alter to close it revealing that it destroyed the broken moons shield. i, most likely, could be wrong, but i cand see the shield machine where the destroyed explosion is.
im not sure exactly on this but the explosion debris does seem to be the shield and not actually olmpus

No one can doubt Wraith is one of if not the best character in apex, her powers? And lore? She is the best apex legend doesnt have to be gameplay wise in todays meta. So next season having more Wraith lore and voicelines will be so cool and well needed 😩.
I am 100000% convinced it is NOT wraith. In that comic, why would this Alter call her "Dr. Blasey?" IF SHE IS ALSO DOCTOR BLASEY? She's clearly AFRAID of Wraith, not Wraith herself.
Alter is not wraith. It's one of wraith test subjects. If you have read the pathfinder lore book you will learn a bit of wraith past. When wraith was a scientist she was creating phase technology for the IMC. She had other test subjects before she became a test subject herself. Also if you've played Titanfall 1 & Titanfall 2 the phase technology ash's uses in her Titan were made by wraith. Alter is probably after the time gauntlet, & if you've played Titanfall games you should know what the time gauntlet is all about O:
Theory. Could Alter be the one that stole the head from jaime since the person is stated as "A". And could Mia ( Crypto Sister) be the one that gave "A" the footage in season 14 comic. Last but not least will MiA become CEO of the syndicate to Crypto clear his name or further her plans if she is "BIG SIS".
Sounds like we are now gonna go into the Bald Wraith-verse we already have the faide wraith prowling around the ziplines in the outlands

I literally like her ult if I think what it is, it’s just she creates a prot next to her and when her teammates look in that direction they teleport to her but create a portal to the other end as well. I love her tactical but I like it to be something with her tail maybe you can remotely slither the tail and disable the abilities of enemies or maybe her passive is her tail reaching out to a death box to grab stuff but the tail can be shot at. She sounds better than wraith and I am gonna main her instead of wraith!
Confirmed by the writers that she isn’t an alternate universe version of wraith and is a different person from Renee.
But yes I am assuming like everybody else, that she’s a test subject of a version of wraith

If Alter is an alternate version of Wraith or Subject 0, how would that tie into Horizon's lore (not saying it can't be one of those two. Still a theory I have as well)? Horizon and Wraith never really had any lore or interactions (except S7).

I think somehow alter is s mix mash of up to 4 or 5 Legends like valkyrie bloodhound ,Wraith & loba to name the ones i can remember but also from a Alternate Universe.

TGM is seems like this is going the way of the Alternate Marcel and DC universes. In those it is true that an alternate version of our characters exist but is not necessarily the same person or character. More so a different person with the exact same backstory and abilities but used and displayed is completely different manners. Just my thought. This is an alternate timeline where another woman went through the same struggles and test our wraith went through.
I mean alternate dimension can mean diffrent language diffrent country too right? In MCU there are same chrachters, both with diffrent ethincites tho?
Alter could just be an insane version of Horizon. Ae their ultimates are of the same build. Alter has Horizons picture on her and if you listen ever so carefully you can hear that Alter uses a double layered voice the softer voice sounding very Horizon like.
i think she here for horizon.. idk who she is but i do have a strong feeling shes after horizon. i think horizon in alternate realities has caused blacc holes to spawn and destroy each planet trying to go bacc in time.. maybe horizon worked on wraith as a test subject to use the voids to go bacc in time or to an alternate dimension or in an alternate dimension

well about that passive the distance from where you can loot that item matters a lot. It can be very good or useless.

Could alter be wraith as another version and she destroys world looking for voidwalker wraith the original one that started the tests. If void walker did not start it then alter wouldn’t have been created.

Wild theory but imagine if Alter is actually just an alternate universe version of Ash, where instead of becoming a simulacrum she becomes, well whatever she is now. It fits with her phase tech (similar to Ash’s ult) and also explains why she seems obsessed with Horizon (at least if the stories from the outlands and gameplay trailer are anything to go by). The thing which makes me believe this is the graffiti on Horizon on the webpage sounds like something Ash would have said before betraying Horizon. I’m likely wrong but who knows.

Because the majong tile is Chinese doesn't mean anything alter can still be Wraith because of the fact that alter could be from a multiverse that Wraith is Chinese but all that is ignoring the fact that Apex doesn't make multiple Legends from the same place if you look at all current Legends you see their all different ethnicities and from different areas. Too put it in short because I can write a book why this still can be a alternate universe Wraith!!!

Positive, they’re writing lore again, more than I joined to save my son or she’s in to protect her mom. Negative, repackaging legends abilities is lazy. If they break the fourth wall to explain away all the issues from season 20, will only show how little they think of the community. Initially thought it would be a funny joke, it’s honestly not a funny situation, especially when you’re playing with peoples money and progression.
