I would think so too. Imagine if he was trained in opera/classical music he would be a Countertenor. The Tenor repertoire seems to be too low for him. Anything lower that F3 or E3 is no good for him. If he sang in a strong head voice...it would be natural.
@iWurk well.. let's just say it has no weight to it. But in the means of it being smooth & flowing with the songs & his vocal style, it works for him well
No countertenor sound more closer to Feminine the quality is more Androgynous it will sound like very light tenor male with a retain boyish quality simultaneously with a intense soft quality where it resemble a woman. Alex Newell and Shamir Bailey voice is a good example
@LifeisMusic07 I wouldn't necessarily say its weak, but its not as resonate as his mixed and head voice. But if you ever heard The-Dream talk, his voice makes sense lol
His vocal chords are probably really small which explains why he has damn near no lower register, why his full voice range is so small, and why his voice is so light. Still his voice is very delicate and enjoyable.
@LifeisMusic07 I'm male and I have trouble hitting the low notes when singing. I'm only able to sing as low as C3 as well. He ain't the only male singing with that problem. I don't really think Neyo could sing too many low notes considering his tone is so light.
Every human being has a lower range what you said was illogical his voice texture is just brighter than the typical male in texture too intensely bright to where it retain the youthful boyish quality and it's because it's not falsetto falsetto is airy hollow disconnected sound because only the edges of the vocal cords are touching their is no full vocal cords closure

He has a nice upper register, but it's sad it's lower register is so weak him being a male. Love his falsetto

@highnote32 I do too. His range is very similar to Bruno Mars and he can go up to a D5 in full voice

@daiell09 Range is only part of it. Billie Holiday has around 1 1/2 octaves but she's one of the most beautiful singers of all time...

I think he could go higher than B4 in full voice to about Eb5.

his lower registry is wack for a dude. His voice IMO is wack soo yeah.
He has no lower range. His falsetto is non-existent live.

hes NOT a very good singer....no range @ all
