I was here in 1997. I was with a group called World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY). We were Hajjies from the U.S. I was 27 at the time. I watched from the rooftop, of the building in which we were staying. We weren't sure if the fire was coming our way. We were told to stay in the building by authy. The fire spread SO QUICKLY! May Allah SubanahWaTa'Allah grant all of those who perished, Jennah! And, may he grant solace to their families. 🤲🏽🏞️❤️☝🏾🕋
I was not even 9 years old and I remember it so well. Just thinking about this day - Alhamdullilah my family and I were ok and safe but it’s still so clear in my mind….
I was there with my mother and sister I was 39 then, I seen fire from our camp in the hills I told my sister and mother the fire looks as if it getting stronger and coming our direction maybe we should move aftet 45 minutes we started walking up the hill leavung our personal belongings. Another family with one child started to gather there stuff and used rhe holdall to carry. This mans wif plead with her husband lets go never mind the stuff but he wouldn't listen. We started walking up hill and this other family started 10 minutes bejind us we could see this family struggling to keep up with the rest of the people who were fleeing to get high up to the hill as possible to avoid smoke. But unfortunately the family who gathered his items had to throw his stuff away as he couldn't keep up running on the steep hill. After around 11 hours everyone started to walk doween to their capms. When we arrived everything was burnt except for my hat and Jannamaz. Both only had a small hole between them. All the other items were totally burnt, iI was surprised that it the two items were ok. I was 5 at that time we had just reached tent,and i went out to see around suddenly i felt water falling from helicopters and i came in and told my mother,soon after policemen came and told to evict and he moved middle stick holding tent and made it lie down and every was running and it was smoke all around my dad inhaled smoke but Alhamdulillah we reached hospital and was treated ,I saw bikes burning😢
My hole family was thair but thay lived allhumdullah , the fire happen in my family’s bus, the bus got stuck to a bike, that is how it got to fire, and it was our bus wair the hole fire started

I heard that 1 or 2 day before this fire, people pray that if we are wrong destroy us, i forget that name of group which those guys pray(dua) against them, why did you do that? This is totally azabe-illahe, it was an azab which appeared at that time, may Allah forgive them all which dies in this event and bless them, but unfortunate why you guys pray against some in Kaba, wrong totally wrong
Ahmadis vs sunni Muslims They did it because the Muslims did want to put the Ahmadis on jail, so the Ahmadis did challenge those sunni Muslims for Mubahala and then it happened. I don't know who is the correct side but the Ahmadis did survive this case while the sunni Muslims didn't...

I was there to witness 1997.. my age was 15yrs then.Allah had protected all of us that day
My grandfather and grandmother performe hajj in same year. Both came alive ..now grand mother return back to Allah SWT. . remember her in prayers.

AlhamduLillah, I survived that year! This same fire! I was an arm’s length away from the blaze and just managed to jump the fence with my mother!
