kingblacknoob orrr there’s a quicker way by clicking the knob button all the way at the top to the left of the time display. You click the knob button, tweak something, then right click the knob and create automation/link to controller.
I though the same, *freaked out Multiplier voice* : "This dude definitely lacks some fruity knooowledge . TOOLS MENEw" Talented dude otherwise though ;)
Can you guys get an FL user who is using the program efficiently? The couple of times that you guys had FL producers, they make the program look bad when its the producer's fault. Like not being able to explain side chain is inexcusable. @Wyatt your question about side chain, there are basically no channels like in ableton, its not linear. there are 2 places to automate volume before the mixer, you can automate the fader, but also there are "utility" equivalent plugins within FL like Fruity balance or PanOmatic. Sidechain with a compressor is done through routing a source with a virtual cable at the bottom of the mixer (like ableton but using a traditional mixer with a channel for source (kick) and linking it with a cable with side chain option to another channel.)
Please ask CloZee to come, she lives in my city in France but I think she can speak English. Her sound design is just amazing, she really is talented and I'm sure she could teach us a lot! Should you listen to 3 of her songs, it would be Gotta Get Some Sleep, Koto and Baiana (my 3 favourite haha) We really dig this series down here, the tips we can gather here and there and invaluable. Thank you guys for making it possible !
Wyatt Christensen Oh, I think the one with Trivecta because it's my kind of music ! But I'm currently watching all the ITD I have to watch (because I'm late haha) and even if the guest is not making my type of music there's always something to learn so that's great
Haha well I hope I will be :P My absolute favourite electronic music producers which are not too popular (like Kygo and stuff, hence almost unreachable??) would be : Didrick (and by extension Ember Island which is my favourite band but it's not very electronic music) Jacoo MitiS Rameses B Sound Remedy TheFatRat Thijs Bos Uppermost Yoe Mase Other people I love but not as much as those mentioned above: AJR Aljosha Konstanty (AK) Approaching Nirvana Azedia BXDN Cee-Roo CMA Coyote Kisses Cry Wolf EDEN Electus (Illenium, but nearly too popular right now) Kisnou Koan Sound KSHMR (also too popular maybe) Said the Sky Skrux Snail's House This is an almost exhaustive list of my fave artists! You can do whatever you want with this information :P As you can see I went through my entire song library and picked all the electronic music artists for which I had at least 5 songs lmao
there is an easier way to automate 3rd party plugins by tweaking the knob/slider you want to automate and then right click on the button with the knob on it on the top next to the song time and select create automation clip im not sure if that explanation was any good but i dont know how else i should explain it
i also have my drums in the playlist so when i want to have a kick somewhere i can copy it and the sidechain automation at once. if you use patterns for drums you can just copy the midi from your kick (and your snare maybe) to the sidechain automation clip
Haha no problem!! FL is my first daw, I've been producing for about 3 years now... I'm very happy with FL and I mean every daw anyway has it's pros and cons... so as long as it makes no sense to switch to another one I will definitely continue with Fruity!! :)
wait this guy is actually wrong about automating 3th party vst's, you dont have to look in the bigass list. all you do is move the knob once, go to tools>last tweaked>create automation clip. :D
Wyatt Christensen it's not that I don't want to DJ, just didn't really get into it at all. Can't post guestmix yet, since it's not released, but I will when it is
I would love to see an In the DAW with Quix, NGHTMRE, Slander, Space Jesus, Liquid Stranger, Monxx, Skrillex, Virtual Riot, Mr Bill, Big Wild, Digital Ethos, Hermitide, Delta Heavy, Tim Gunter, Taska Black, etc..
To automate 3rd party plugins just turn on the multilink to controllers knob at the top. Touch the knob you want to automate. Then right click the multilink knob and create automation clip. Takes 2 secs
Wyatt Christensen Omg i would like to see them all hahaha i cant really choose one because i love them all soooo much but i think lilypads by droeloe would be very interesting or kintsugi or sunburn and from taska black are my favs leave me and where we go Thanks for asking Thats making me so happy, because im trying to produce the same type of music like bitbird but without any tutorials its very difficult Greetings from Germany (and sorry for my bad english)
hey Wyatt, you mentioned session view in ableton for some cool sound design possibilities, could you elaborate or do you guys have a video on that or know where I could find one?
So frustrating hearing him try to explain about the “sidechain automation”. You can still change the fader in the mixer!! He’s automating the volume of the sample directly. He still can route it to a mixer and change the volume there
Wyatt Christensen of course, I was using live 9 standard up until now so its opened even more doors for me than just the live10 updates, max4live and such... 👌🏻
1. click multi link to controller and move one or more knobs faders blah blah blah then right click it and create automation clip 2.open the synth and move an automation, click the plugin options and it will open the browser, it will be on the last parameter you click on, you right click that and select create or automation or if you want link to controller... 3. in the main options: tools, last tweaked, create automation clip my favorite is the first
Wyatt Christensen the best thing ever about Fl is the versatility. No daw imo can match that. I tried Ableton and Studio One and didn't like them a whole lot. Ableton is cool but the workflow doesn't fit me it's too slow and I feel like it's too controled. Studio One is that but like 5 times worse hahaha.
well first of all the canvas. holy shit mate....it's free you can put stuff where ever you want, you can organize however you want. if you want an automation next to a midi clip you can do that it's sick
lol a daw without build in methods of sidechain... i used all daw´s since 1998 to this day! even the old rebirth (first version of reason) and FL Studio is by far the most difficult and confusion daw i ever saw...
FL doesn't have specific way to do that, but you can use various of ways to sidechain and you can use various ways to control that as well. What I use is Envelope Controller linked to Limiter input and output level on one bus and just connect everything that needs sidechaining to it, but you can use Peak Controller on Maximus on each mixer track, automate mixer volume faders directly in playlist, automate sample volume like the guy did etc. And yes, FL's got pretty weird workflow, but it has tons of other great perks that are much better than other DAWs
really? usually in other daws you put a compressor in the channel you want to sidechain and in that compressor you have the option to CHOOSE SIDECHAIN SIGNAL and you choose the channel of your kick (for example)
U can automate anything in FL by going to tools and then “create automation for last tweaked”
kingblacknoob orrr there’s a quicker way by clicking the knob button all the way at the top to the left of the time display. You click the knob button, tweak something, then right click the knob and create automation/link to controller.
that guy calls himself a producer, does not even know his daw wtf
Was literally just about to comment that lmfao
I though the same,
*freaked out Multiplier voice* : "This dude definitely lacks some fruity knooowledge . TOOLS MENEw"
Talented dude otherwise though ;)

Clozee would be awesome
Wyatt Christensen Oh, I think the one with Trivecta because it's my kind of music ! But I'm currently watching all the ITD I have to watch (because I'm late haha) and even if the guest is not making my type of music there's always something to learn so that's great

My absolute favourite electronic music producers which are not too popular (like Kygo and stuff, hence almost unreachable??) would be :
Didrick (and by extension Ember Island which is my favourite band but it's not very electronic music)
Jacoo
MitiS
Rameses B
Sound Remedy
TheFatRat
Thijs Bos
Uppermost
Yoe Mase
Other people I love but not as much as those mentioned above:
AJR
Aljosha Konstanty (AK)
Approaching Nirvana
Azedia
BXDN
Cee-Roo
CMA
Coyote Kisses
Cry Wolf
EDEN
Electus
(Illenium, but nearly too popular right now)
Kisnou
Koan Sound
KSHMR (also too popular maybe)
Said the Sky
Skrux
Snail's House

Love the new edit of in the daw. Straight to the point
BASSSSSS!! S dope that Felmax come on the show!

Wyatt Christensen
I've been using FL for a little more than 3 years now
i automate the volume knob in fruity balance for sidechain and i love it
i also have my drums in the playlist so when i want to have a kick somewhere i can copy it and the sidechain automation at once. if you use patterns for drums you can just copy the midi from your kick (and your snare maybe) to the sidechain automation clip
Not tryna hate but once I saw the drop came from a sample pack I instantly did not care about the whole thing
13:16 actually you can use "browse parameters" in the Plugin Options (top left corner of the wrapper).. then all listed up parameters are open ;)
Haha no problem!! FL is my first daw, I've been producing for about 3 years now... I'm very happy with FL and I mean every daw anyway has it's pros and cons... so as long as it makes no sense to switch to another one I will definitely continue with Fruity!! :)

Wyatt Christensen about 3 years now on and off depending on how busy I was with school. Still hope I'll get to live of music someday :)
nope, i cant actually dj, although i have done a guestmix a while back.
Wyatt Christensen it's not that I don't want to DJ, just didn't really get into it at all. Can't post guestmix yet, since it's not released, but I will when it is
For real dude haha
I love these videos Multiplier!!!!!!!!!!!!
There we have a FL user. I see. But he is using it pretty "raw" i´d say. I could never NOT process a drum sample :D

Another great video guys. At 12:05 Felmax says he doesn't recommend anyone starting out to use Reason, then there's an edit. Did he elaborate?
What computer is he using. How has it not exploded yet!!!
Could you please try to get an episode with someone from bitbird ?
Wyatt Christensen Maybe Taska Black or DROELOE
Wyatt Christensen Omg i would like to see them all hahaha i cant really choose one because i love them all soooo much but i think lilypads by droeloe would be very interesting or kintsugi or sunburn and from taska black are my favs leave me and where we go
Thanks for asking
Thats making me so happy, because im trying to produce the same type of music like bitbird but without any tutorials its very difficult
Greetings from Germany (and sorry for my bad english)
Could you do an in the DAW with Naten? His song structure and sound designs is extremely unqiue.
hey Wyatt, you mentioned session view in ableton for some cool sound design possibilities, could you elaborate or do you guys have a video on that or know where I could find one?
Where the hell is that war drums sample pack. I want it
So frustrating hearing him try to explain about the “sidechain automation”. You can still change the fader in the mixer!! He’s automating the volume of the sample directly. He still can route it to a mixer and change the volume there
Did he just called this sidechaining method HIS OWN?
Wyatt Christensen can you stop replying on everything you stupid headass
What mad max samples is he talking about?? Those were sick and Google let me down
Wyatt Christensen bless up dplatipodis@hotmail.com
There is at least two ways to make automation of vst's parametrs easier in FL, but i forgot them.
just tools, last tweaked, automation
Ableton ALL DAY!
Wyatt Christensen of course, I was using live 9 standard up until now so its opened even more doors for me than just the live10 updates, max4live and such... 👌🏻
Wyatt Christensen I actually didn’t, where can I find it??
Wyatt Christensen awesome, I’ll check it out now, thanks man! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Click on TOOLS>Macros>Last Tweaked>Create Automation Clip.
Ayyyy Hekler
yeah of course! his sound design is crazy
Megalink please!
Yep! ULTIMATE (not his VIP edit) would be my second choice. Those are my two most favorite tracks of his.
13:15 -> this isn't true, there are like 3 different short cuts for automating in FL
1. click multi link to controller and move one or more knobs faders blah blah blah then right click it and create automation clip
2.open the synth and move an automation, click the plugin options and it will open the browser, it will be on the last parameter you click on, you right click that and select create or automation or if you want link to controller...
3. in the main options: tools, last tweaked, create automation clip
my favorite is the first
As an FL user this was hard to watch
bruv there's a 128362638263x faster way to automate 3rd party shit.....
Wyatt Christensen actively for about 3 years hahaha
Wyatt Christensen the best thing ever about Fl is the versatility. No daw imo can match that. I tried Ableton and Studio One and didn't like them a whole lot. Ableton is cool but the workflow doesn't fit me it's too slow and I feel like it's too controled. Studio One is that but like 5 times worse hahaha.
well first of all the canvas. holy shit mate....it's free you can put stuff where ever you want, you can organize however you want. if you want an automation next to a midi clip you can do that it's sick
Sound Design gets used too often these days. It's so wanky.
lol a daw without build in methods of sidechain... i used all daw´s since 1998 to this day! even the old rebirth (first version of reason) and FL Studio is by far the most difficult and confusion daw i ever saw...
you just route the kick to the channel you want sidechained and use the compressor... it takes 2 seconds
FL definetely has a lot of methods to sidechain and as a FL user the hardest thing in any other daw to me is the sidechain
really? usually in other daws you put a compressor in the channel you want to sidechain and in that compressor you have the option to CHOOSE SIDECHAIN SIGNAL and you choose the channel of your kick (for example)
Xpertvision you can do exactly that in fl
