    You said "chanterelle stems are never hollow." Unfortunately, where I live, if you don't catch the golden chantys within the first couple of days of them fruiting, subterranean larva hollow the stems! 😂
    Same with a few choice boletes and some other varieties.
    But thankfully, they never attack my cinnabar reds👍🏼
