It’s so interesting to see an accomplished guitarist learning a song, going through all the missteps and then finally cracking it. Great. It’s good fun to follow along, too.
As a guitarist ( no way as good as you!) Really enjoyed you working out what Mark was playing. .well done you..really shows Mark's playing is still very fine ..just does it so simply you dont know how complex it is!!🎸👍
Nice job of translating Knopfler's solo and fills (at least mapping them on the fretboard) to a fingerstyle solo. Knopfler's technique always seems to reveal in some way his background in fingerpicking. Enjoyed your synthesis at the end of the video. A more focused look at fingerpicking via arpeggios, chord tones, etc., would be welcome-- maybe something else from Knopfler?
Thank you for the detail on how you broke this song down...even with the detail I know I could not do it myself but very interesting to see how you do it! Is there any chance you have done, or will do, Mark's Lights of Tarormina? I love that song but for the life of me I cannot figure out the lead. Thanks so much! Mike

Your comment means a lot to me! It's always great to connect with fellow guitar enthusiasts. Thanks 👍
So cool! Will learn your arrangement!
Sounded like poor black mattie at first lol
True
cool gig thanks
For me, he's the greatest. A saw dire straits 6 times in 92.
6 times?
I managed to see them twice before disbanding, saw them Sheffield 91 and Woburn Abbey 92 but seen knopfler a further 11 times as solo
He worked it out in 5 mins, I would have taken a week!
Piano player is Jim Cox
Really good. I’ve left comments before. The only constructive thing I would say ( if asked ) get ride of all the facial hair. . .
Great job ,, keep jamming and making videos
