The most logic explanation is that the Russians try to divert Ukrainian forces to defend Kharkiv, so less stand in their way in Donbas. 40,000-50,000 soldiers in Belgorod is much yes, but not enough to attack Kharkiv. They try to force Ukraine to divert troops

There is no doubt that the Z-Military aims to dissolve Ukrainian forces, and on the same move take Kharkiv under there control. And I expect that this will happen soon since the Ukrainian forces have lost too much of there soldiers to defend an even more expanding frontline. Second, the Z-Attack forced the Ukranian military to move quickly into a allmoste unprepared area of defense, obliged to fight in an open battle scenario that need at last an equal military headcount. It's very unlike that Ukraine Military is able to move 50k of their soldiers in this area without crippling the other heavily attackt frontline areas. And there is the other fact that Ukrainian forces are running out of amo without any expectations of a constant flow of resupply due to the weak commitment of the NATO country's. Under this scenario I expect to see very soon the Russian takeover of Kharkiv, looking forward to how this will be explained. It's always good to think positive, but recently I have noticed too much optimism of wishful thinking.

This is a dire situation for the Ukrainians as it appears that the front has now broadened. They will have to choose between protecting Kharkov and Sumy or the Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. In the future, the front will extend further, necessitating decisions on safeguarding Nykolaiv and Odessa. Defending such an expansive front will result in significant losses for the Ukrainians, so it is time to consider retreating beyond the Dnipro River to preserve what remains of Ukraine and its Russian historic capital, Kiev.

This is the best coverage on the war. Denys already told you he is biased, but he still reports the facts on the field. I like how he talks about the state of things on the ground, then moves into major news events. Also like how he checks in on Israel and other conflicts. Some seem to think Denys is too pro Ukraine, but he is rooting for Ukraine and stating the events as they occur. His opinion on them is his opinion I have never found his stance to be completely unreasonable.

Destroying the bridge means Kharkiv city was not their objective. It's the remainder of Luhansk and nearby parts of Kharkiv oblast.
I think they will encircle Kharkiv, save the city from damage and sooner or later Ukrainians will want to leave..
Blowing that bridge makes it more difficult to reinforce the border on the other side of that bridge

Like it or not but the ESC is a cultural event that puts happiness into the hearts of its fans. Ukraine participating in the ESC associates Ukraine with feelings of joy, and therby creates compassion for the suffering Ukrainians endure from the Russian invasion. It is not waisted money at all. I don’t understand how the Ukrainians have not been digging fortifications for the last two years. I mean. I’m a carpenter in Canada. But if someone attacked my country’s.
I’d be digging and building everyday, any fortifications necessary. I do not understand how the people are not there, digging and doing what’s necessary to have a spider web of consistent trench fortifications. And for the last two years, I have been wondering why there has not been a Russian attack sooner. So why the F is a lowly contracting carpenter able to think of these simple things and it seems to evade the Ukrainians army General staff. I mean. Ukraine gets a lot of things right, but the defensive lines and back up lines. I am just blown away.

Personaly, i don't follow this Contest, but when Ukraine won it in 22, it really opened my eyes on the Ukranian culture, i loved the song Stefania and was amazed by thé creativity and use or ethnic instrument telenka , in my view this contest was really useful to raise awareness and support of the west to Ukraine as Kalush orchestra made a concert tour in US and Europe in the following year. Same thing probably with the coming Olympic games, you are such warriors !!!Slava Ukrainia❤!!!!

Hearing about the support packages from allies helps us get a clearer idea of how expensive war operations are. Knowing this, we'd ask whether the conquest of Ukraine makes 'business' sense for Russia. Russia is savvy and thought Ukraine was available at a discount. Unfortunately for them, the discount coupon expired before they could get through the checkout line. A cease-fire deal would necessarily call for Russia to return Ukraine to the store shelf and leave the store. Their card has been declined. They can't wait in the checkout line until they can afford to take Ukraine.
The economic cost of this invasion will haunt Russia for decades. Though sadly it's more likely to lead to extreme authoritarianism by the regime in the Kremlin.

Maybe it's because the resources to effectively oppress that many people are consigned into the war effort.
