Hi! Thank you for the very helpful video! I have a question about EHIC, please. I am a European citizen but I am not living in Europe. It seems I can't apply for an EHIC. But I will be studying for 2 years, so I can get a Swedish personal number (which should give me access to the Swedish healthcare). My question is: how much time does it take to get the personal number after arrival? Is it a period long enough that I need to get an EHIC? Thank you!
I assume you mean whether you should get Swedish health insurance? It depends on whether you have intentions of staying after the studies or not and what I know is that you might need to have workd here to be eligible. THere is time for you to get it after the personnummer etc. but you should have insurance planned before starting your study :) check out the website of försökringskassa: www.forsakringskassan.se/privatperson for more info (its availble in english) DA Yan
@@KIStudentVlogs Thank you for your response! I was actually referring to this paragraph written on the KI website for EU students: "If you are admitted to a study programme lasting longer than 12 months, you should also apply for a Swedish personal number to be entitled to regular healthcare at the same subsidised patient fees as Swedes" So I was thinking I can just apply for the personal number when I arrive in Sweden instead of getting private insurance or EHIC.
Thank you Mireia and the team. It's a very nice video with helpful information. Just a little request, can you guys make a similar video considering fee-paying students? Thank you in advance!
