Only been on one section. From Woods Creek to Bubbs Creek. I think in that small section, I have to say Rae Lakes was my favorite. Also Glen Pass sucks lol

I'll let you know in September. My daughter and I got permits for August. We are leaving from Tuolumne Meadows and hopefully making it to Mt. Whitney. Never tackled anything like this before. From Jersey (sea level) and we have both hiked extensively in New Hampshire, New York and Maine. Doing a few shakedown hikes in Vermont in July to make sure we like and know how to use all of our gear. I did go to Yosemite last summer with my wife and I'm with you JR....amazingly beautiful. My jaw was agape the entire time. Thanks for putting out the content...enjoying your journey tremendously.

I hiked to Clouds Rest a couple years ago - which was awesome - the view is AMAZING! And I climbed Half Dome earlier this summer. You made a good decision based on your love of heights. LOL! There is definitely a pucker factor and I’m not afraid of heights. We camped at LYV and got a really early start, so we didn’t have to deal with a crapton of people going up. Coming down was another story. I enjoyed going down more than going up. I really need to get that video done.

Well I have never done the entire JMT, but have hiked several segments. The Mist trail is amazing but my favorite segment is from Cathedral lakes to the end of Lyell canyon.

Hey JR, love your video man! Great work and you are right, the views are amazing, we were just out in Yosemite a few weeks ago (video on our channel). We stayed in the backpackers camp and it was packed! At least 150 people. Night 2 we went up to North Dome and had the opposite view of the valley as you. Then we jumped down to Onion Valley and made it out at Whitney. Didn’t have time for the whole JMT but now that we got a little bit in we are all itching to attempt the rest. That altitude is no joke for us flat-landers! I can’t wait to catch the next video.

Part of a successful hike is reading your body. Altitude and ankle injuries are no joke. Good for you for deciding to cut a hike day short and taking your time. The trail will still be there no matter how many miles you hike a day. Happy trails

No planning. Just shot and recorded what interested me and struck me as beautiful. Editing everything chronologically. There is a little color grading in post production. Other that that it's just all stitched together.
