No sign of any decent seats yet!!! I am also sceptical about the pitch given that for years, after the new drainage, it hasn't worked yet. Having said that, great to see how much work Mick and others put into it and wishing the pitch a good and full season.
Really ???? until last season it was one of the best surfaces in the league!! The new main drainage put in was the start of the work, The idea is that a basic full system is installed with main and sub drains, and then the gravel banding is installed over following seasons. Remember the short close season does dictate the work schedule and i can assure you that the club have not skimped on the job in any way , The issue last year was two games played in the middle of torrential rain and heavy freezing resulting in a disconnect between the saturated surface, and the drainage system resulting in the whole surface becoming a mudbath, unusual but i've seen it several times but as a groundsman of a private setup, i had the final say ,something that a groundsman like Mick hasn't any input in deciding. Obviously the best answer would be a 4G pitch, and as someone who spent a good amount of time assessing the surfaces and knowing the pressure that the club, FA and tv put on clubs to play on matches on the time advertised , 4G will become the pitch the game will be played on within ten years.
@@tonykenny9894 I never suggested they had skimped on the job in any way. I said it has been awful since the new drainage was installed. It hasn't done the job yet. I hope your optomism is correct that it takes a few seasons but I am not sure that is good enough and it certainly isn't if it can't handle a couple of games in torrential rain, that is the point surely, it should do. Don't seem to have any issues at Old Trafford or most of the other League 2 clubs for that matter. Anyway fingers crossed it can last a full season this time round, despite the torrential rain it will be getting!
Far more exciting than the England game last night. Big up the ground staff, doing a top job fellas.
Brilliant Job Lads loving the New Tilt

It's about time the edges were 4g. That would be better for wear and tear.

How did they get the tractors on the pitch?
Helicopter
Same every season. Look at work we are doing. Get into season oh well we tried
always one cheerful soul
@@TheCarlbrian are you
I thought the problem was drainage. But this video didn't show anything being done about that.
It did!
It literally shows you new drainage gravel bars been for every 1t that connect into the main drainage 🤷🏻♂️
did you watch the video?!
Let’s hope it doesn’t detiorate like last season
ITS OK DOING THE PITCH BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SEATS THEY LOOK LIKE SHIT
It's a shame the team can't deliver on the pitch season after season. Still stuck in the basement.
