Everything u said about Mercury AK, is spot on. My daughter has this in her chart in 10th house in Libra, and she is super intelligent. Her professors back in college used to love the way she writes and speaks. Her explanation on things is so beautiful that everybody wants to listen to her speak. During an argument, she would never shout or lose her temper, but remains cool and ends up winning any argument easily ...😂.

agree ... despite venus atmakaraka, my mercury is in jyestha 9th house and trikona nakshatras are ruled by mercury ... the opponents end up shouting at me and at that point they are defeated.

I never heard of Ketu Atmakaraka, but it's interesting....In which tradition is it also taken? And how do you know, if it is Rahu or Ketu, because they are on the same degree in their signs? Or do you work with houses that are not equal?

Very interesting talk! I have three questions based on this talk however, if you or anyone in the comments section can answer?
1) What about AMK and ATMK being inimical to each other? Sun and Saturn, Moon and Venus etc. Do these indicate added challenges for the native?
2) What about the D60 placement? I understand the D9 indicates the true nature of the D1 placement, but D60? Example Saturn Aries in D1 and Libra in D60. Or Venus in Sag in D1 and Virgo in D60. Do these have any significance?
3) If Rahu is the strongest at 15 degrees, and I see a chart where the native has Rahul at 29. I minus 15 and get 14. But they also have Moon at 29 degrees. In this case, does Rahu take precedence?

Great Video Ksanati, Just a quick Question...Isn't Rahu and Ketu are in same degree's always as they are exactly 180 degrees apart? If that is the case how can we differentiate between Rahu and Ketu as AK?

As a Venus atmakaraka I would completely agree about the balance. I’ve never heard that approach before but I highly agree and see it lived in my life. I am constantly battling my extremes and am happiest when balanced. When I was young I was very rajastic and extreme. I would indulge often and it had me ruined and depressed and at my very worst. Then I went the opposite and became nearly ascetic and it developed an eating disorder. Then I learned balance. And it’s been a life changer. Anytime I eat something not very nutritious , I make sure to eat very nourishing food the next day or two. Etc. it’s so true.

I have a doubt how Ke will be Ak when both Rahu and ketu are of same degree. We shouldn't reduce any degree for it ?
I have mercury Ak with Dk sun so would like to know about Darakaraka also.
How can Ketu be the Atmakaraka? If I know it right, when people include Rahu and Ketu to this system they include Rahu. I didn't know they can also include the Ketu. But how can we detect someone's Atmakaraka is Rahu or Ketu as both of them in the same degree?

My Saturn is retrograde in Libra (Vishaka) in 2H. It’s very close to the ascendant degree at 29:43. Everything is you said was pretty accurate minus the discipline. Is it bc I have Ketu (vishaka) and Pluto there? In Navamsa, Saturn goes to into Gemini (punavasu).
Mars Is my AK😊 in Sag 7th house, wht you hve mentioned is so accurate.

Can you please explain Atmakaraka Mars is Combust, with 6 degrees difference, wl it make a difference in the results when Atmakaraka planets are Combust by Sun
My atmakaraka is Venus 18:26. Venus is around 26 degrees of aquarius. Sun is my darakaraka. Sun is in the 1st degree of pisces. Both Venus and Sun are placed in the Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra. Can I consider a conjunction between Venus (AK) and Sun (AmK)?
I have the ascendant around 20 degrees of libra. Venus rules the 1st and the 8th houses. Venus is in the 5th house. Venus falls in Taurus Navamsa. I feel myself very balanced with venusian things.
Rahu atmakaraka is my daughter's atmakaraka .It is very true that you said.

No, perhaps it is because this "astrologer"'s description of Venus as AK incorrect.
Rahu and Ketu are 180 degrees apart. So if you substract the same amount from them, they are still 180 degrees apart. How do you determine if AK is Rahu or Ketu?

I was popular in school as a sortof quiz whizkid even though i did it for fun and love for trivia (merc mars in gemni 5H) - in my high school (around age 16) i asked what is the point of this knowledge and "knowing" and never since particed in anything GK or trivia -still enjoy trivia but catch myself if it gives me ego about it being know it all or ' ur really know so much about stuff' .

i have a question. if rahu ketu are 7 houses apart then they are also equally apart degree wise. so id suppose rahu at 14 degree minus 15 degree becomes 29 degree atma karka does that not mean that ketu too was at 14 degree so it could also become atma karaka .so how to differentiate between those that who is atma karaka ?

At 40:13 it has been told that when rahu and ketu are in 14 degree then minus 15 degree it will give 29 degree.. Simultaneously if any planet say sun is in 28 degree in the chart ..then which will be the aatmkarak sun being in 28 degree or rahu in 14 degree..

Wow!!!!! Rahu and Ketu are the same degrees. And Parasara says its the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus Saturn and some include Rahu. BPHS 32.1-2 Ranjan Publications or BPHS 34.1-2 Sagar Publications.
There is also many texts that I don't know. And Nadi texts is so vast.

If rahu is AK then Ketu is also AK too right! Cz they are of same degree. And when you calculate retrograde into degrees, the highest value comes down to same number for both as they are on the axis at same degree.

Hi but in reality ak Rahu had drastic effect in our wealth (2nd) house of my husband also with ketu as both r of same degrees. All foreign lands, as he rightly said. Maybe the highs are pending but we saw the lows which we did not see it coming.

In the scheme of Karakas , Ketu is never considered as the Maharishis have mentioned to exclude it.
They are in a reflective relationship perhaps?
Check the degrees of the dispositors . The one with the dispositor of the highest degree is probably the Atmakaraka

I wish the Pai team does a do-over wih the atmakaraka and darakaraka concepts with Dr Sanjay rath or someone with that kind of experience. This particular episode on atmakaraka and earlier one on darakaraka lacks real depth. For instance, venus as atmakaraka could have relationship karma to burn especially if placed in 7th house, and hence relationships can be painful. How is this not addressed?
