I’m on week 7 of Season 2 Locs 😂, I’m staying down fr this time . Even though Season 1 only lasted like 4 weeks cause I went from the Freeform fro to locs & I hated how they looked , the Freeforming beforehand messed them up. So for Season 2, I cut off all the locced parts of my fro before starting my starter coils. It made my hair shorter, like half the length, but the starter locs came out WAY better than the first time when I did it with that already locced hair from my Freeform Afro.

What method did you use, and how long was your hair, that is, where it gave you?
My guy definitely broke this down fa show. I'm on my second set. I have a whole head with 81 locs. I got medium-sized locs and I'm almost at shoulder length. My wife does hair so I don't pay for retwists. 🙏🏾🤣

One thing I regret about starting with my dreads is also not doing enough research. I had a lot of hair but didn’t tell my locticion to give me more locs, and I have a high top so my head doesn’t look as full. Luckily I grew out my sides for about 5 months and about to get them locced up in a few days.

I literally decided to start my locs because you inspired me, and now I'm a month ahead of you 😭.
U made me rethink instant locs becuase my hair goes down to my jawline but i heard shrinkage is dum crazy but i also heard that instant locs look natural over time as long as you mist it with water becuase instant locs skip 9 months of the locing process and has barely any shrinkage
Exactly so you either do the traditional process and be good after 7-9 months or get instant locs and be good after a year+
My instant locks actually started looking like normal dreads after a year of having them then I cut them off when they got long, I’m light skin tho so it might be different

@@wavvvyadtheir is no traditional process cause not everybody has the same hair texture 😂😂😂 the way a black person with mixed hair can get dreads is by interlocking and using the needle so it doesn’t unravel their gonna turn out the same way I can show a video of what mines look like as well definitely not hard either
I started with comb coils because I didn’t have a whole lot of hair when I started. My first loc journey was good but some of them thinned out so I had to restart but so far they are healthy and I have 32 Locs right now! My mom started the way too and has had her Locs for 10 years🎉

I'm in Season 1 of my loc journey; started January 2024 with grid parting style. Originally started off wanted to do high-top locs, but now I'm In the process of growing my sides out some to insert an additional row of locs and go with a low/mid-taper haircut. 7 months in and still got a lot maturing and growing to do with my locs.
I’m on season 2 of my locs. Season one locs was godly . My change I made was I messed up with the front taper . & my parts left boxes on my head . The restart is worth it 💈

Season 1, I’m boutta b 2 months on August 15, I gotta low taper on the sides n back, I got 123 locs, I started w 2 strands when my hair was bottom lip or chin length at the front n collar bone length at the back so far I fw it
112 locs with freeparts, im a fullhead but experienced thinning when i got retwists too often. If somebody's getting a lot of locs i recommend taking a lot of time between the retwist to let the roots fully thicken up. That way during a retwist your locs won't get thinner.

I’m glad you coming back but nothing was wrong with your locs in the first place & if you wanna do it the right way I suggest trimming your ends hair will grow more healthy & faster& your locs will grow way locs longer

Season 1 locs started with a high taper and comb coiled, I have 81 locs but they are pretty thick. I think what I would do different is start with a full head of hair or low taper with no back taper.

How to wash your dreads and how to maintain it?
I got 150 dreads on a high temp/high taper with a front taper n no c cups cus I had free forms
Do the Bricks u already had free parts and the Styles will be cleaner
